It is a USC site, so not completely unexpected. I agree that USC has work to do, but replacing Helton with Riley is huge. Throughout his time at USC, Helton seemed to be an Interim coach. The players certainly wouldn't run through a wall for him, and recruiting suffered, Riley creates excitement, recruiting will pick up and USC will be contending soon.

I think he will and will be the best QB that SC has had in years, Leinart, Sanchez, Barkley, none of them are as good as Williams. And Rattler isn't as good as Williams, but would be the best QB at Oregon.

I'm not sure he would have predicted winning the championship. But getting to the Playoff?

I would bet on it, and might that send Dart to the Portal? That was good writing by Zemeck, objective look at what USC is now, and an acknowledgement that Riley's hire was mandatory if USC wants to stop Oregon's dominance of the conference since the Carrol years.

Oklahoma is going to lose the best of their prospects to USC with Riley, they're going to the SEC next year. The pitch to a new coach to want to take that on is going to be fascinating. Right now, the disaster that is Texas could look better?

USC's recruiting was stalled due to the coaching search. Now that Riley is set, it will be a mix of recruits Riley will take from Oklahoma and the players USC will attract now.
