  1. Former players have a place in our hearts, and avatars. Our memories are filled with memories. Build statues in their honor, name fields after them. But look what happened when USC installed former legends, Kike Garrett or Lynn Swann as AD's. It wasn't pretty. "Jorgy" is great on the radio, Justin is an Oregon Duck through and through who is becoming one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and will be joined soon by Kavon Thibodeaux. Those two, the rest of the Ducks on NFL rosters make Oregon fans proud. Based on what we've seen so far, the hiring of Dan Lanning looks like a great one. His enthusiasm and energy are what I want the Oregon Way to be.
  2. As I see it, Lanning and Dillingham had two options, Stick with the QB's who haven't had any meaningful playing time and go with that. Or, bring in an experienced QB. If Nix beats out the 3 QB's already here, good. If one of the 3 emerge and shows he's ready to start, good again. If any of the QB's transfer, they'll end up in a situation like they just left.
  3. A great promo, 1Funduck., thank you. I'll be there, watching the game and grinning every time the 2006 game is brought up, let alone watching Our Beloved Ducks playing a football game! It does sound like fun!
  4. I don't like it either. As far as the tribute to the Kilkenny's; it reminds me of a scene in Brian's Song when Brian Picolo says to Gale Sayers, "You dedicated the game to you me. Would have been nice if you'd have won." Oregon should go green, recycle the trees and come up with a new design. Maybe with green and yellow?
  5. Mario is the OC Preventer!!
  6. When Baylor took the opening tip and scored 3 seconds later it looked like another drubbing was in for the Ducks. Not so fast my friends. The Ducks made Baylor work a lot harder than Villanova did; Baylor beat illanova, 57-36. If the Ducks can play like they did against the No.1 team in the country for the rest of the season they'll win a lot of games. Intense Effort Comes Up Short Against Top Ranked Baylor Rob Moseley GoDucks
  7. As David Marsh pointed out earlier today, different standards for different teams. For now, losing in the Jimmy Kimmel Bowl has all of Beaver Nation excited for next season!
  8. That one hurt. But, by far the best game they've played all year. They play with that intensity the rest of the year, especially against Pepperdine on Tuesday, this will be another one of those Altman teams that starts slow but gets better and better.
  9. I'm glad you brought that up. It was green before!
  10. Where has this Oregon team been all season? They're passing the ball, moving, playing defense, not turning the ball over, not fouling, and lead at the half 39-35. The first 5 minutes of the 2nd half will be huge.
  11. And why Saban doesn't lose to his "kids". Jimbo got him in a game earlier this season, but Saban is the King because he has learned to evolve. Smart & Cristobal are stuck in the past.
  12. Outstanding story Santa Rosa Duck!!
  13. We saw what happened against Alabama when Kirby took a page out of Mario's playbook and tried to out physical Alabama. Not only did he fail in that, Alabama also showed him what an offense needs to look like to win now. In 5 games against Top 10 teams with Stetson Bennett at QB, Georgia is 2-3, Bennett has completed 53% of his passes, 6.9 yards per attempt, his TD to INT ratio is 7-6. Don't wait to bring in the QB with a live arm, start JT. Daniels against Michigan.
  14. Hard to say, the only thing I knew about UAB is that it was where Gene Bartow, of "Deranged Idiot's" fame went to coach basketball after he was fired at UCLA in 1978.
  15. Hope so. We gotta start getting some of that Academic Prowess.
  16. UAB 31 BYU 28
  17. That was a great game between 2 teams and fan bases that we really wanted to be in the Boca Raton Bowl. Pac-12 killer BYU is currently losing to 8-4 UAB in the Independence Bowl.
  18. This is the area we have disagreement. I don't see keeping the freshmen QB's out as "too much protection,". considering the experience they could gain from this game, when they'll have a new coach and a new OC, next season. Lots too ponder.
  19. The thought seems to be, the season's over, Mario's moved on. We don't need to his QB, Anthony Brown play anymore. What if Thompson, Butterfield, do play in the Alamo Bowl and are injured? The time for them getting some valuable game experience was during the season; there was a great opportunity with the Bye week., not now, when at best the team is scattered. I'd rather either starting against Georgia with whatever experience he can get from Lanning and Dillingham, etc., than rehabbing this off season.
  20. Before the season started this looked like a game between teams battling for a high seed. Baylor looks like the defending champion; Oregon is coming off their big win over the U of Portland Pilots. Currently, the line is Baylor -8. Do the guys in Vegas have this right?
