  1. You know, every day there's more exciting recruiting news for the Ducks. Altman, Graves, Cristobal are a recruiting trifecta!
  2. The Cat is much cuter, but this one is necessary.
  3. An interesting Top 10
  4. Dr. Jack. The '77 Blazers were a joy to watch, and even better in 78 before injuries derailed the dynasty that was coming. Dr. Jack's Blazers were playing a style of basketball that no other team could copy, much less defend.
  5. There were indications of that, so if that was the case, good job, Coach Moorhead.
  6. Right now UCLA's football future is better than USC's and Bruins basketball is in the top 5
  7. ESPN is all about the show! They didn't get the first game, but they would love The Rematch!
  8. Maybe sanity prevails, but we are talking about The Committee here, and I'm not sure they will have Oregon above Ohio State.
  9. One game, one win, it was a Big win, have the Ducks ranked where they are now, That game aside, I don't see a midseason top 10, nor a final ranking of No.5 I remember Brady Breeze often, he's definitely my favorite One Season Wonder Duck. By the end of the season 2019 was really good. In a Duck Bowl at the end of the season, I'd take 2019.
  10. Great question! It was interesting when on "Talkin' Ducks" a while back Joey Harrington asserted that the "Kelly- Mariota games were boring" They were done by halftime, no suspense. He's right. Those were great teams, but the second halves did not have us on the edges of our seats. Georgia is winning the other way this season. Their games are over at halftime too, usually because the other team hasn't scored a point yet. Somewhere in the middle would be great. When you have a really good defense, punting is not a negative end to a possession. It allows you to put the opponent in bad field position, and your defense can punish them. My preferred score would be 35-14. This would indicate an offense that was efficient and productive; and a defense that controlled the game. Didn't shut the other team out, but the outcome was certain from start to finish.
  11. Score !
  12. Dedicated to "Softy"
  13. That game was fun, as was reading the article. If that is what Mario has in mind, The Ducks are in great shape. There was no Prevent Offense being run out there, early on I realized that my passing yards prediction was going to be way off! Brown and the offense were in rhythm from the start, the TD pass to Franklin was a thing of beauty. Cardwell and Dye were an irresistible force that moved through the Buffs defense, and Oregon's D didn't come close to breaking. That press conference of NA's was indeed uncomfortable, for him and for us watching. The coaches and players are all doing their best. as we do here at OBD. We all want the Ducks to win, and while Mario probably isn't scanning the pages, we all are benefitting from the wisdom and insights of each other, Go Ducks!
  14. But it won't if Scott and the Cornhuskers Pop Ohio State this Saturday, right? It could happen.
  15. Given the circumstances you are absolutely correct, and you also prove why this is not a Playoff at all. Having to impress the voters should be left to the Westminster Kennel Club.
  16. Maybe they should all just switch jobs?
  17. Unfortunately, I don't see Houston on the schedule.
  18. You know it isn't us just taking shots at ESPN.SEC et.al by saying it isn't a Playoff, it's an Invitational. Because that's what it is, The Committee Picks the teams! Division 2 has a Playoff. The NFL has Playoffs. "March Madness" does have a Committee, and how the Conference Champs are decided is a separate issue, but they are included, and the Champ needs to win 6 games! ESPN calls it a "Playoff" but it is onlyin name.
  19. With the protocols in place in 2016 tOSU was No.3 in the CFP. Penn State beat tOSU in their game, Penn State and tOSU finished tied for 1st in their Division. Due to their win, Penn State went to the Conference Championship Game, and beat Wisconsin, tOSU went to the CFP. tOSU lost to Penn State in conference, Penn State lost to Michigan in conference, 49-10 and had a non-conference loss to Pittsburgh, 42-39.
  20. Excellent find, Charles, and the Tweet is very effective. The Tweeter is a self admitting Duck Hater and even he can see the joke that is Ohio State being above Oregon. Herbie & the ESPinners are just discounting that Week 2 game even happened. But the country isn't full of amnesiacs. Oregon Beat Ohio State at Ohio State without its Best Player! It will be fascinating to hear the blather if Ohio State is above Oregon on Tuesday.
  21. I'm not saying the Ducks should go Independent. But Oregon needs to look after their own interests now, loyalty to the Pac-12 be damned. No other conference is interested in any of the other 11. If UW came along that would be acceptable, as long as they stayed in coach.
  22. Oreg Oregon has been carrying the conference for a decade or more. SC thinks they still have prestige, but Oregon is the Brand. Washington? They should be good. ASU, Jake Plummer anybody. WSU is a novelty act. Stanford cares as much about Water Polo as it does Football, and Cal seems like a place for Old Ducks to hang out. Why are Colorado and Utah in the Pac-12? Oregon State, bless their hearts, tries hard, but they should be in the Conference with Idaho.
  23. Great find. It's pathetic how ESPN caters to the bluebloods, in the casual chatter, tOSU is a given to ne in the CFP, Oregon, "Has no margin for error". Cincy is the Darling this season. During the Kellen Moore years, Boise State was more dominant than Ciny is this season. But Boise State is in far away, remote Idaho. Cincy is in Ohio. Big difference.
