The Pac-12 is "Irrelevant" Because of OREGON?
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Ah, Mr. Klatt, another member of Wilner and Washington's Whiners about Oregon PLAYING in the championship game, and then actually WINNING. I realize it's a down time, but that call was old as soon as they said it the first time. If any team in the Pac-12 IS RELEVANT, it's Oregon. -

Two 5 * quarterbacks for the Ducks and the Huskies, it's shaping up to be a huge element in the fight for control of the North in the Pac-12 Ty Thompson and Sam Huard. From Rivals.com Of course, when it comes to a Husky quarterback named Huard...

Do College Basketball Players get a "DO-OVER?"
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
That would have been a lot to ask of Payton, as he already has the record for most games played as a Duck. -
Prioritizing Recruiting Will Get Oregon to the CFP

With all the talent that Mario is recruiting he will literally have to prevent the offense from scoring, not just prefer ball control, David Shaw didn't mind when Stanford got in the 40's. Oregon hasn't had the WR's, and RB's that Alabama, Ohio State and Clemson have, but the Ducks are getting there. It seems like Mario wants to wait until the WR's and RB's are there before he lets the offense GO. Until then the Ducks will go like they have, still leading the conference in scoring, while looking like they don't want to sometimes. -
Amen. That is exactly what is wrong with the Committee, a bunch of "experts" that spend the afternoon watching the games, with all the preconceived notions and biases all fans have, and rather than base their selections on criteria, like winning a division, let alone a conference, use the "EYE Test" to pick teams.

Recruiting Getting Worse At Oregon State and ASU?
30Duck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
That is very true, and was pointed out in the article. it is also one of the reasons why the Beavers will finish ahead of the Huskies next season. -
I thought this was the best commercial.

It isn't good when two of the five teams listed in, "Teams that regressed" in recruiting are in the Pac-12, and Arizona would be the third, but they didn't regress, just stayed awful. From Rivals.com

It's not so hard to recruit to Oregon when the kid lives next door. -

Is Oregon becoming a football factory, a pipeline to the NFL? A lot of experts didn't think Justin Herbert should be drafted at all; he went 6th and set NFL records. This year, Penei Sewell is projected as a can't miss at OT. From NBC Sports Northwest

Mens Basketball Fans: Discuss the SURPRISES Last Night?
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Kepnang was great to see, Omoruyi is already the best at the basket player Altman has had at Oregon, and if Kepnang can continue from this performance, even improve, the Ducks offense will have a dimension its never had. Terry was terrific, nothing more fun in basketball than taking a "heat check" with your shot, and making it! It was really neat that after making shot after shot, his expression never changed, he was dialed in, But, during a timeout, Richardson came over and then we saw a big grin on Terry's face. The report on Williams and Duarte sounds very encouraging. -
This looks like it could be the best Super Bowl ever! It's got Tom Brady, who's already been to nine with the Patriots, winning six of them, and Patrick Mahomes, trying to lead the Chiefs to a repeat, the first sine Brady and the Partiots won back to back in, 04 and 05. I have it, Chiefs 35 Buccaneers 31

Pac-12 Makes A Move To Find Its New Commissioner

The farther away, the Executive Committee that found Scott stays away from the process this time, the better. -
LB Coach Ken Wilson has Decided to STAY at Oregon
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Great to see this. Losing coaches can be spun as a positive, but no spin is needed to appreciate continuity, and especially "LB's will thrive at Oregon" -
The Ducks Win A Tough One, 63-57 over the Aggies
30Duck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
This could be stretching things a bit, but, now that the game is over, and the Ducks won I think it was a very impressive and important performance. The Aggies are good, and they were controlling the game. Rebounding, creating turnovers. In the first half, they were nailing 3's. The Ducks couldn't do anything right. But, in spite of this, the D was still working. it was 25-25 at halftime. The Ducks didn't give up, didn't start pointing fingers. I'm sure that Coach Graves used some forceful words at halftime, and they worked. I think this young team grew up a lot last night. -
Trading Places: Burrow Replaces Herbert at Oregon
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Okay, I will ask you, as you're making this an indictment against Oregon, who are the players at all the other schools that weren't great before they showed up, but were coached up? Does Alabama do this? Ohio State, Clemson? Was Mahomes coached up at Texas Tech? -
Trading Places: Burrow Replaces Herbert at Oregon
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Yeah, I'm fine with the way it worked out, looking at Burrow's college play in total shows that in 2019, a "System" quarterback , won the Heisman. It was a great system under Brady at LSU, but that season was a complete outlier for Burrow. In the NFL, he was having a good season as the No. 1 pick of the Bengals before he was injured, but nothing even close to the record setting season, No. 6 pick Herbert was having for the Chargers. -

UC Davis is a good team, after a seasoning opening win on November 25, their next 13 games were cancelled. The Aggies got back to playing on January 22, and won their 4 games before coming in to MKA, to meet the Ducks, who hadn't played since January 24. The game wasn't on the schedule originally, and for the first 3 quarters, the Ducks looked like they might have been better off not adding it, trailing, 46-42. But, Nyara Sabally wasn't going to let the Ducks lose this one; she scored 8 straight points, to put the Ducks in the lead. Erin Boley who had kept the Ducks in the game the first 3 quarters, added 3 points, and the Ducks led 53-46, and wouldn't trail again. From GoDucks.com
