Oregon Ranked 4th Most "Poachable"
According to Saturday Down South. 4. Oregon The program is in transition and has been since a Playoff appearance in 2014. Mario Cristobal’s 2 Pac-12 championships and a resurgence in recruiting brought some stability, but what happens now with new coach (and first-time head coach) Dan Lanning? The brand is strong and there are deep pockets behind it (see: Nike’s Phil Knight). Most appealing to the Big Ten (this will be a common theme): The university’s Association of American Universities status. Past 4 recruiting classes: 7, 12, 6, 13. Average: 9.5.

PAC-0?
Okay, so I'm an old guy... but I remember Oregon in conferences; Pacific Coast Conference (PCC), Independent from 1959-1963, PAC-8, PAC-10, and the PAC-12. The PAC-0 could be a new experience altogether. Embrace the change. Who knows? You/We might like it.

Not so fast. The NBA has its G League. As college football spins ever closer to pay for play professionalism, Alabama and Georgia could lead the way into the NFL's coming "F" league.

USC AD Bohn: 'Best Home'
"Ultimately, the Big Ten is the best home for USC and Trojan athletics as we move into the new world of collegiate sports," USC athletic director Mike Bohn said in a statement. "We are excited that our values align with the league's member institutions. We also will benefit from the stability and strength of the conference; the athletic caliber of Big Ten institutions; the increased visibility, exposure, and resources the conference will bring our student-athletes and programs; and the ability to expand engagement with our passionate alumni nationwide." USC's purported "values" are on open display for all to see.

Will Oregon’s Offense Instantly Improve Under Dillingham?
We will only know as the season plays out, but we can make a few assumptions based on facts that can conclude an opinion. Beforehand, I do not believe that Cristobal was the heart of the problem as the Head Coach. I see him more at fault for not intervening in the offense, and for faulty in-game decisions and poor clock management. 1. Dillingham has a history of leading prolific offenses. 2. There WILL BE a reliable passing game that was absent in 2021. 3. The offense will be multi faceted getting the ball quickly to playmakers. 4. There are more highly skilled playmakers in 2022. 5. Tempo will be used as the weapon it can be. 6. The O line is big, talented, and experienced. 7. The D will provide plus takeaways. 8. More too. GO DUCKS!!!

Unbelievable: T&F Coach Robert Johnson Fired
There must be more to the personnel change than what shows up in this thread. I am confident in Rob Mullens, President Schill, and the inside circle of donors. They have not been inclined to rash or arbitrary personnel actions.UO has solid and reliable administrstive leadership. I do not need to know all the details, and have confidence that the new coach will be very connected and qualified. My view is that Oregon T&F should be tops by a confortable margin. Eugene IS Tracktown USA, and a global mecca of Track and Field.

Coach Locklyn On Twitter: Respect For Oregon's Legacy
I miss Gary Campbell's coaching. What a man, leader, and trainer. Campbell might be the GOAT as best- dressed. There's no doubt about that at Oregon. Reminds me of the story about the guy going in for a vasectomy. The doctor walked into the room and said, " I don't see many patients dressed as well as you are. You didn't need to wear the Tux", to which the patient replied, "Doc, I always heard that if you want to be impotent, you must look impotent". Coach Campbell is missed. He made men and Running Backs who were potent.

Four Keys to Oregon Football Beating Georgia
The game key that I'm watching for is that we have a higher score than UGA at the end of the game. I'll take field goals, safeties, scores by the Duck Defense, any and all points. Style points do not count. The Ducks need to put on their big boy pants and show up. They need to deliver a little shock and awe playing with proficiency like they did last season in Ohio Stadium. Go Ducks! 10-weeks and counting....10 - 9 - 8---- DAWGS

WHERE is the Most Inexpensive Place to Retire?
Many would say "Gamecock". Personally, I haven't seen a mosquito at my home in 2-3 years. At my RV site there were 2-3 in the camper last year - none yet this year. I remember more in Eugene. MANY more in the cascades.

WHERE is the Most Inexpensive Place to Retire?
More.. I traveled in N. America extensively during my career years including 50 states, a half dozen canadian provinces, Most mexican states, and five central america countries. In my 30's and 40's I used to think about where I wanted most to settle. The areas that I identified then and committed to memory are: - N. California Eureka to Roseburg, OR - The Ozarks area of AR and MO - SW Virginia, Eastern TN, Upstate SC in the Blue Ridge, Applachian/Smokies mountain areas. The list still looks pretty good to me today, though I realize most other people would choose otherwise. Greenville, SC where I live is located 75 minutes from Asheville, NC, two hours from Atlanta, 90 minutes from Charlotte, NC. 90 minutes from Columbia the state capitol, and 3 hours from the beach at Charleston. I might add that we have many "half-backs" here. They are those who moved to Florida from norhern states, then moved again to South Carolina to flee the Florida heat and hurricanes.

WHERE is the Most Inexpensive Place to Retire?
"Looking for Mayberry".... The Andy Griffith Mayberry was based on a small town in the Blue Ridge mountains named Mt. Airy. N.C. The area is offline, but generally between Charlotte, N.C. and Roanoke, VA. The surrounding area has comparatively reasonable costs-of-living. rolling vistas, a mild climate, generally good schools ( do your research), and enjoys steady growth. Nearby Galax, Virginia is the home of the national Old-Time Fiddler's convention. I now live in South Carolina. Regarding the South, the past 10 years has brought enormous growth to the more desireable locales and popular cities. Demand for housing since 2019 is off the charts with housing prices responding accordingly. Where the comparable value is not what it once was, buyers moving from high priced markets in the NW and NE find considerable value and cost savings with huge tax savings here. There are very low-priced pockets, but buyer beware. We know the economy is squirrely now. Some will score opportunities and some will suffer. What lifestyle do you want? Are you culturally adaptable,? How much tolerance to risk do you have? There is more to life than money, but an affordable and well-liked domicile and locale adds a lot. Don't forget access to healthcare as you consider retirement as you will need more doctors and possibly specialized practices than in your younger years.

DB's Have Powledge Power
Nobody has mentioned the magnificent Oregon linebacker group and how the play of the edge rushers and true LB’s will allow the DB’s to feast on deflections, Ill-advised attempts, hurry’s, and badly thrown balls. I feel like opposing QB’s will have their hands full with fast-changing schemes, stunts, disguises and the flat-out speed, power, and athleticism of the Ducks LB’s. CB’s and Safeties should look very good and much improved from last season.
