Mens Basketball: Ducks in it for Former 5-Star Transfer
He might be a good one, if he will work and respond to the coaching. We will see. Go Ducks. Go Dana.

Oregon is On Top In Pre-Season Rankings
I'm waiting for the Ducks to earn and deserve a Top 5 ranking, not the third five. I will love the Ducks in the meantime and wait.

(FishDuck Article) "Fiesta Bowl Aftermath: What do Oregon Fans DO NOW?"
Adjust. Chill. Observe. Hope. Repeat. A better day is coming. I hope the Ducks reach the Promised Land before Phil and Penny do.

2020 Ducks Rushing Historically Weak
Short and simple facts. I like your analysis but not the trend or results. Formation? Play sequence? Talent level? The mix of plays? Penetration, sliding off blocks and lack of down field blocking? Another startling fact is that the quality of opponents was mediocre. All this with highly rated OL.

Taylor Mikesell's "Winning Mentality"
Coach Graves finds exceptional workers who are unselfish. Mikesell is one of them. She will become a key piece in the puzzle of this team. It is nice to know some more about her. Thanks.

What would it take to get JT Tuimoloau?
Does this violate NCAA Student Athlete restrictions?

Football - Playoff Expansion Discussion Topic!
I'm not enthused about expanding the CFP, though I realize it will occur. My reason is simple. Four is enough when you are looking for #1. Expanding the field will drag the process out over a longer time. In some cases it will open a less qualified team with a win to become higher ranking than they deserve. Anything can happen in a one bullet shoot out. I like it the way it is with a semi then the national championship game

Is it Time for a New Running Back Coach?
Some runs require a burst. Other plays produce better if the back rides the line, feels the push (negative or positive) and then finds the hole. The Ducks seem to use the former, but seldom the latter. There is not much finesse in the burst “hit the hole fast” approach. Somewhat off topic, I was very impressed with Dye’s cuts, jump cuts and speed on the corner this year. He has more upside potential.

FishDuck Article: "A New Defensive Coordinator Brings New Opportunities"
Transitioning staff by filling a vacancy is always an opportunity to move forward and improve an organization. Back filling a key position in an organization doesn’t normally often happen. Mario Cristobal’s hire will tell us much about his management skills and priorities.

Cristobal's Recruiting Legacy Recently Discovered....
Or the coaching offices to match the OL? Did you see Sark's play-calling in the championship game defeat the Buckeye's vaunted defense? The play-calling made OSU appear to be more holey than the Pope.

Coach Boles: My Top Five Candidates to Become Oregon’s Defensive Coordinator
You make your point Coach. I feel otherwise, and would not hire KH because he's ready to move on and move up now. Especially with the Ducks turnover at DC during the past 5 years. That's too bad for Heyward, but favors the big picture. Do you want to have another DC turnover just as the Ducks are approaching the CFP (2-3 years)? Not me.

Hear! Hear! Coach Bowden for President! (No, that's not a political statement. This is Football.)

Oregon Taught Avalos a lot
AA has learned from the Master. How long will it take him to beat the Master? I enjoyed and appreciated Avalos' time at Oregon. I enjoyed his pressers and appreciated the way he supported his players through the ups and downs of college football and life. Good luck to Coach Avalos and his family as they return to Boise.

FishDuck Article: "Can Ty Thompson Save Oregon Football?"
It is too heavy to expect Ty to come in and become the savior of Oregon Football. The Ducks for sure need a star QB to lead the charge, but there were breakdowns in 2020 within all the position groups. Each one must improve for the Ducks to become champions, and Oregon's in-game coaching must improve substantially too.

Coach Boles: My Top Five Candidates to Become Oregon’s Defensive Coordinator
I agree Coach that (projected) stability, the liklihood of continuing for 5+ years as Oregon DC, is one of the important screening variables for the hire. I would not have agreed with hiring internal staff two years ago, but after Avalos' impact, we may have a coach on staff who can be outstanding as DC.

Coach Boles: My Top Five Candidates to Become Oregon’s Defensive Coordinator
I live in South Carolina and have carefully watched Coach Muschamp over his tenure as a Gamecock. As his teams struggled, the sports media frequently questioned his HC skills, but continually noted his ability as DC referring to his great defensive mind. That may be so, but I have a hard time seeing him and his family adapting to Eugene and Oregon. Hiring Will Muschamp presents more risk than upside IMO.

FishDuck Article: "A Letter to Mario Cristobal: Restore Oregon's Offensive Legacy"
A few more thoughts: - Sometimes finding ways to make "gamers" successful by exploiting their assets is more effective than forcing them into roles. - Oregon is "Track U". Why can't Cristobal and Johnson collaborate to bring dual sport speedsters to Eugene? Eugene has the best track in the world - unparalleled elsewhere. We have the Worlds, Trials and NCAA's biggest meets coming. C'mon coaches focus. Get some Transfer Portal mojo working. - There were signs this year a few times of bad attitudes, entitlement, poor spotsmanship and not playing every play through the whistle. Numerous contributors have mentioned TE's (change coach), the need for speed and needing a big, bruising workhorse back. These are all points with merit requiring xmchange. Go Ducks! Go Coaches.

Ten DC Replacements via OregonLive
Coach has so far proven able to hire staff and direct recruiting. His hire is going to be good. The days of loyalty and long-term commitment are gone, so expect frequent churn within the staff.

Tell-me, Tell me: Fiesta Bowl Game Thread
Uninspired mistake -riddled play. Sick to my stomach. So disappointed in the coaches that I was so exited about. Outcoached and outplayed. A new year bummer.

Daily article: Shough Faces Make-or-Break Fiesta Bowl
You raise a good question SRD. I wonder the same and would like to know the dynamics and authorities for QB's. We'll never know.

Daily article: Shough Faces Make-or-Break Fiesta Bowl
Many readers and countless fans will agree with your premises, Joshua. I feel similar feelings but come away with another conclusion. Tomorrow's game is unlikely to decide Tyler's future and fate as Oregon's starting QB going forward to the 2021 season. The off-season development of the QB's, along with spring and summer camp competitions and preseason game results will determine which one starts when the conference games launch. Given the make-up of those in the QB room one may take over another on the depth chart through the season, so the Ducks might end up with a different QB than they begin with.
