  1. It's a serious issue and one that doesn't get the attention it deserves.
  2. I'm sure you told him to stick to shoes, not courts! Thanks
  3. Totally. I always felt that instead of a 168 mph fastball he shoulda made it a more "believable" 132 or something..... but, what do I know
  4. Yes, Chip created something new that nobody was used to, but the world has long passed caught up. We'll see how he now does with only offense to worry about and elite talent.
  5. Yes, talent shouldn't be the issue at Ohio State. Time to see what Chip has left in the tank.
  6. Thanks for your take, John, I agree. One thing for sure, it will be entertaining.
  7. I think a good analogy is that he created a very successful startup company but wasn't good at running the company once it got big. Heck, I remember studying that stuff at the U of O biz school in the 90s. Hey, I did learn something afterall!!!
  8. Oh I'm not predicting here whether he will be successful or not. And, sure, he'll be recruiting, but he can focus more on his side of the ball and the ingredients that he wants while not being weighed down with head coaching obligations. He can be the chef without having to run the restaurant. I'm sure he'll be more happy and motivated to focus on QB's and WR's than linebackers.
  9. They will have to go roll the dice and the "next big thing." Like Oregon did with Lanning. Of course, Wilcox is out there for the Tide ; )
  10. I don't care how other fans cheer, especially those down south. And, I don't care about how a Husky win might make the Ducks look better for this season. Eadt Coast bias is real. Perception is reality. If west coast teams win more often then that would help the case for all west coast teams. The reality is that west coast programs have not won enough, hence they (i.e. Oregon) does not get the benefit of the doubt. Case in point: If the Ducks had won this year's Pac-12 Championship game, they absolutely would NOT have been invited to the CFP. Lack of Pac-12 success would have been a big reason why.
  11. Thanks. I had a "small" hunch the title might grab a few people's attention. Oops. ; )
  12. Great points, Jon. And, I agree, UM will be in for a surprise for how lethal the Husky offense is when seeing it person. "Go Pac-12!" That's what I'll chant when the Huskies roll it up on UM.
  13. The reality is, any successful programs fans are going to be labeled as "arrogant" by the WSU and OSU's of the world. Let's be honest, Oregon has its share.... just not as many as the Huskies.
  14. Thanks for your support. I just can't bring myself to root for the likes of Michigan and don't even get me started if it was Alabama instead. I do feel the regional, NW, pride.
  15. Well, if the Ducks can "fulfill their destiny," and win one and beat the Huskies on a regular basis then all (for the most part, is silenced). UW fans weren't really mentioning 1991 during the 13 game losing streak earlier this decade. We are severely out recruiting UW, so i feel good about regularly beating them. And, Pennix is their Mariota, pretty hard to replace, so you have expect some drop off at QB.
  16. Yes, the way to earn respect and shutup UW is to win it all. We control that, now gotta do it.
  17. They will be insufferable, but the Ducks can cut that short by winning a title. Oregon has the power, need to Just Do It. UW success should be a motivating factor.
  18. I totally agree, BUT, these guys tend to have larger than average egos and want to prove that they can be the exception. So, ya never know. Plus, there is the burnout factor in college, way more work due to recruiting and kissing up to donors, etc. etc...
