  1. Hahaha, yep, joking. But, now you got me thinking it could really happen . Hurricane's new offensive analyst ....
  2. It'll fun to run on them while they cannot run on us. Time to bully 'em a bit.
  3. Nice breakdown, David. The Ducks are deeper and more talented. They should be able to get pressure on Penix, not Colorado-esc type pressure, but some. Which the Fuskies have not yet seen. Really comes down to ole' cliche of playing your game, execution, and limit mistakes.
  4. Husky crowd control!!! This I where I mention that my uncle was a 30-plus year officer/detective with the UW Police Department. Worked many a football games. As he got tenure he avoided working the student section, for obvious reasons, and worked the donor sections so he could relax and get paid to watch the game. A fast start would be optimal, for sure. If the Ducks play their game they should be fine.
  5. oh yeah, he'll still cover the Beavs, I don't think he'll forsake any "local" teams. He could increase his output to cover everything, of course if that ovewhelms him...... he could hire us as contributors! Bingo!
  6. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. They'll lose some folks for sure, but no doubt will add some from traditional Big 10 country. Actually, could really be a jackpot for Canzano if he plays to those fans.
  7. Yup, we should be able to simply out talent (i.e. speed) Hawaii and let our fast guys run loose.
  8. Yeah, I mentioned on a reply to Charles that the run the Ducks were stuffed on late in game to the short side of the field on 3rd and short really, really bothered me. And of course I'm not saying eliminate horizontal/lateral play, it is crucial, but seemed to over use it. Also, part it could be my subconscious wanting the Ducks to have more big plays after watching the Fuskies with Penix throwing lasers all over the field. Man, that guy can pass. Gotta outdo those guys!
  9. Just thinking out loud, but in a perfect world, once top power schools break away from other sports, the Portland States' of the world can serve as a farm system where the late bloomers who weren't recruited could develop, then transfer to the top league. And the top league kicks down some cash to the developmental league. Like I said, just brainstorming.
  10. Very true, I knew I'd get some pushback, but that 3rd and short late in the game where the ducks pitched to the short side of the field and got stuffed has stuck with me all week. Argh! Looking for some fine tuning this week against the Rainbows.... I was at that '94 game . 1-2 start, fire Brooks!
  11. I don't see much changing, they'll just drop the conference affiliation and cover the Big Ten more, but they'll still remain left coast centric.
  12. Cold, Charles, cold. Aren't you a Corvallis native and ex-beav? Next thing you know you'll be driving I-5 on your way to Portland, and flipping the bird westerly out the driver's window as you pass through the Albany-Corvallis "metro" area. Be sure to record that on your phone when you do!
  13. For sure, but money can't repair the ego damage. I wish him no ill will, hopefully he's in a good place in life.
  14. Time for power conferences to outlaw these games. Nothing but a glorified scrimmage, not entertaining, and really tells us nothing.
  15. Willie is currently the Running Backs coach for The Ravens. Nice to see he has finally found his true calling as a position coach.
  16. Hey, it's not me, it's those dang Heisman voters! I just report on this stuff. ; )
  17. Uncle Phil, that would have been nice, as well as own the Blazers. If the Beavs go to the Mountain West, I wonder if he'll donate money to OSU to make them a Group of 5 power and a potential all-Oregon national championship game! Ya never know. Obviously he's a Duck, but also a state of Oregon guy through and through. He did donate money to the OSU baseball team that one time. Hmmmm.....
  18. Definitely would wanna keep that one regional, New Yorkers might be a little thrown off. Oops.
  19. That's pretty good. Got me thinking about The Police song Message in a Bottle. "Message in a BOttle to Heisman voters: Bo for Heisman!" It's too long and too stupid, but hey, we're just having fun here
  20. Yes, we need at least measurable improvement on defense. Of course, there was that whole USC thing (shi**y defense) last year, but the glamour of LA and the media hype machine that follows helped with that. Unfortunately, the Ducks don't have that advantage.
