  1. Let's see...if we get 70 points on Saturday....that could raise our scoring average to nearly 50 points per game! Gotta have fun with this dream while I can!
  2. Oregon is officially No. 1 in the nation for scoring at 47.4 points, something that rarely, if ever, occurred with Chip Kelly. While I know that it is the final season stats--that counts...I want to savor the moment. (And our offensive stats will get a boost this Saturday) And giving up only 16 points a game? It is a fantasy, a dream...so don't wake me up. No. 1 Scoring Offense No. 1 First Downs No. 1 Turnovers Lost No. 1 Completion Percentage No. 2 Total Offense No. 2 Sacks Allowed No. 3 Yards per play No. 5 3rd Down Conversion Percentage These rankings are not in conference, but the nation? Whew! My knees are buckling...
  3. I am starting it at 4:00 PM, so people can Portland can attend and get home at a decent time...
  4. Thanks David, for pointing something nobody else has touched on--the offensive game plans. The team of analysts Lanning as assembled in addition to the offensive staff is really putting together impressive game plans--as well as Bo making great adjustments. But I can tell you that it is happening on the defensive side of the ball as well. In my preparation for the Friday night Film Session for the OBD Meet-and-Greet, (see top pinned post--come!) it is evident that Oregon has scouted and prepared for opposing teams' major plays. A ton of great defense stops occurred because Duck defenders recognized the play and knew what to do immediately. It was big on a ton of third down plays... Gotta love this coaching staff!
  5. I was driving to an appointment, and was listening to sports radio for a few minutes and Colin Cowherd was discussing all the NFL teams that will draft a quarterback. He believes that minimum five, and maybe six teams will draft a quarterback in the 2024 draft in April and was explaining that "there are not enough QBs that are top quality available." "I see only four for certain for the first round; Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Michael Penix, and Bo Nix. That's it. The rest are question marks..." Wowsa. He sees Nix going high in the first round, and it got me to thinking about how much transferring to Oregon has meant for Bo, and how much the extra year has boosted his stock. What a great confirmation story for potential QB transfers!
  6. Great article, fun read-thanks Jordan! The rumor is that Kris Hutson is sitting out to save his redshirt, and transfer because Tez is so much better at the slot position.
  7. Oregon continues to get praise from the pundits, and unlike the past--it is not the soft damning praise that comes with disclaimers. (But they are in the Pac-12, you know) Now The Athletic has writers sold on the Ducks too. Below is ranking by Nicole Auerbach, and again--the highest one-loss team over Texas and Alabama. I never would have been able to write that in the past! 6. Oregon (8-1) Ducks quarterback Bo Nix might be the quietest Heisman Trophy contender I can remember, at least this late in the season. But Nix is absolutely in the mix for the award, and he continues to put up spectacular numbers. In a 63-19 win over Cal, Nix threw for 386 yards and four touchdowns and ran for two more. Early mistakes didn’t matter much, but they give Dan Lanning plenty to harp on this week in practice, if he wants to. Judging by his postgame comments in which he lamented lost opportunities due to penalties and other self-inflicted wounds, it’s clear Lanning wasn’t very happy … with 63 freaking points in a conference game in November. But that’s who he is, and this is part of the reason I’m all in on these Ducks. They’re getting better as the season goes on.
  8. Sure, but everyone thought Jeff Lockie could do the job after a good spring game. Both current QBs or transfers can bomb out, so load the shelf?
  9. Wowsa. Meanwhile Diaz has built the Penn State defense into something formidable...better than the offense at PSU. Miami fans were SO MUCH smarter than Oregon fans....right?
  10. I could never understand what went wrong, because (seriously) Grinch was GREAT at Washington State under Mike Leach and was instrumental in beating us four years in a row, I believe. I thought he'd be scary at USC... We gotta appreciate the three DC brain trust we have in Lanning, Lupoi and Hampton. (All three were DCs at other schools)
  11. So, the acclaimed LA schools that took us down the road of Pac-12 destruction are both out of the top 25? The "other" two leaving the Pac-12 to go to the B1G are in the top six? The SEC has six in the top-25, while the Pac-12 has five, while the B1G only has three? The 2024 B1G would have five in the top-25, and the addition of the NW schools are crucial to their challenge of the B1G to the SEC. So B1G...because of our enhanced value to your conference--you're going to PAY US FOR IT...Right? Rutgers, Maryland, Illinois, and Northwestern get more.
  12. But the irony in our final Pac-12 year? Oregon getting screwed again?
  13. Could Mario help us out this one time? Instead of being...
  14. USC initiated the destruction of our conference, and their fans were dancing on its grave.
  15. From Trojan fans on their own board.... "The Oregon game is going to be brutal. They’ll pile on too in order to make a statement. Could get really ugly." "I'm not sure I can watch getting blown out by the Zeros." "Not even going to watch it. My health is more important." "Lanning is going to try to break records and there's nothing that we'll be able to do to stop him from doing so." "USC v Oregon will be the first game in many years that I will not watch. It’s gonna be a massacre and my heart can’t take it. I was so drained after yesterday’s game that I’m still drained this morning."
  16. A repeat of that year's running game versus Tommy Troy?
