  1. I've been staying in touch with 30Duck, who has a tech issue and thus why he has not posted in a while. He hopes to be back in a few weeks, but he did give me HIS prediction... Oregon 46-14 Two Turnovers Two Sacks 268 Passing yards
  2. Hello My OBD FishDuck Forum Friends! What is your prediction of Oregon versus Northwestern? Take your shot and let's have fun with it... Let's get these predictions started, and remember I look for the differential between your predicted points with both teams from the actual points. I will use the tiebreaker information when needed, so provide all the data below! Entries without ALL the information are invalid, and predictions on other threads don't count. We Have Two New Rules: If two winning scores are the same? The first one who posted wins, automatically. TerryM9 gets 42-6 locked in every time as his. (I love this guy!) Please follow directions, as I need all that is below for tiebreakers: --the winner --the score --the amount of turnovers Oregon creates --the number of sacks Oregon records on the opposing team --the number of passing yards by the Ducks. My prediction is: Oregon 48-13 2 3 251
  3. Pretty impressive, and to have both freshmen starting corners within an hour driving distance in Maryland, (how far is THAT from Oregon?) shows that Oregon's recruiting nationally is working due to the skills of this staff.
  4. I politely disagree, as I don't want to be the "bad-guys," but would rather stick to an Oregon color scheme. All Yellow?
  5. That is true; we need cannon-fodder...
  6. They've got it SO GOOD, and they want to kill the Golden Goose for everyone?
  7. I disagree with your characterization of the teams. There are NO Power 5 programs or conferences, as it is only Power 4 conferences, and it has been that way for at least two years. In the past we referred to the other conferences as "Group-of-Five" leagues, but now with the "new" Pac-12...it is "Group-of-Six." The difference in the teams is clear, as they cannot afford what we can with their media contract for Beavis at 10 million a year versus our payout for 2025 of 54 million. As for your question...I agree that three easy teams and a bye does not fully prepare Penn State for Oregon, but four easy teams for us does not help us either. Our guys would have a much tougher intersquad scrimmage than any of these four games. I wish we had at least one major challenge before meeting the 'Lions, but it is what it is.
  8. That is from the past....we don't know if that is available for this year.
  9. Note it is NOT the winged yellow helmet, I like both, but I gotta know--do we have more than one green helmet?
  10. Oh yeah...us old farts love the classic look with our traditional colors! Gary Bryant Never Looked so Good... Beautiful Ducks Forever! Traveling in Style!
  11. Here is the clip so you can hear the correct quote...I remembered it as best I could, but the actual sounds better....
  12. I went home for a late lunch and had the show B1G Today on, and ol' coach and analyst Gerry DiNardo was effusive in his praise of Will Stein and what he witnessed in his trip to Eugene prior to the season. He stated that the QB meeting he sat in on with Stein...."the coaching and discussion of progressions in a play was the best I've watched in my life."
  13. Yep, unfortunately, style points are still important...
  14. It is always fun to guess what Our Beloved Ducks are doing, and then seeing later how close we got. Our forum-friend, 30Duck, has tech issues and will not be able to rejoin us for a few weeks, but I spoke with him on the phone yesterday, as well as Mike West, and both gave me their thoughts on the offense that got me to wondering... What IS Will Stein up to? Thus far, he is doing the opposite of last year, whereas in 2024--he did a slow rollout of the offense that many here found pedestrian, almost boring at times. We were winning, but not winning BIG, while this year we are scoring boatloads of points, and showing stuff you would not think would appear until a big play in a much bigger game. What do YOU think is going on? Do you think he and Lanning decided to "go-for-it," as some games, (like the Rose Bowl last year) require a ton of scoring to win the game? Or that he is just messing with the Penn State DC in advance to make their preparation that much more difficult...and Stein pulls out new stuff for them? Or is this a head-fake and Stein reins the offense back in again...to keep opposing DCs guessing? I love what we've seen, but wonder what the bigger plan is the entire season, and what they're doing now--how it plays into their overall plan?
  15. Boy...they have a fantastic culture going on the offensive line, and they are jelling already and totally bought in. "The sky is the limit for this group."
  16. Great stuff, and a great interview if you can read it, as I don't know if it is free or subscriber content.
  17. I noticed how a No. 17, a receiver, was blocking superbly downfield vs. Montana State, (Kyler Kasper...right?) and when I noticed him blocking fantastic on a running play vs. Oklahoma State, I realized that no....he is not 6'6" as Kasper is. So I looked it up and realized that Kasper changed to No. 3, and No. 17 is true freshman Cooper Perry. He caught a few passes, but has been exceptional at blocking already. Can you believe true freshmen in their first games doing so well? WR Coach Ross Douglas is Killing-it!
