  1. It is unfortunate that he is the weak link on the defense. Offense pick on him in coverage, and as I diagrammed at the OBD Get-Together Film Study....he does not always have good technique as the Force defender, thus they get outside of him. He has made a lot of great plays, but...we miss Byron Addison, IMHO. Great guy, loyal guy, but...he is trailing a receiver way too often for my preference.
  2. Hello My OBD FishDuck Forum Friends! What is your prediction versus Oregon State? Take your shot and let's have fun with it... Lets get these predictions started, and remember I look for the differential between your predicted points with both teams from the actual points. I will use the tiebreaker information when needed, so provide all the data below! Entries without ALL the information are invalid, and predictions on other threads don't count. Please follow directions, as I need all that is below for tiebreakers: --the winner --the score --the amount of turnovers Oregon creates --the number of sacks Oregon records on the opposing team --the number of passing yards by the Ducks. My prediction is: Oregon, 52-20, 2, 3, 321 It is an aggressive pick because I think Oregon wants to even things up, assert our STANDARD, and blow off some steam.
  3. I was just informed by the Assistant Athletic Director of Communications (whom I deal with often concerning media and photo passes for games) that Oregon Athletics has no such account, and the post from that account about SEC scheduling is bogus. Good question, and thanks for initiating the clarification. Sorry, we will not play Alabama until the Playoffs, but I look forward to it then!
  4. I do not know if it is real, but I will inquire with the Athletic Department to find out.
  5. I am thankful for this community of reasonable people, because most people online do not want civility. I am grateful for people being a good sport with our rules and protocols. It just makes it all more fun when you have a group of nice people, which is what makes it a very special place here. Thank you everyone.
  6. This is what I wanted going into this year. Reading so many people who wanted him to actually run often--brought back PTSD of Oregon football after his injury last year. Darren...THANKS for listing the yards passing and running. It goes to show that Will Stein has really created something special, and has tapped Bo Nix's passing skills, upped his game, and thus made him more attractive to the NFL. Everyone wins!
  7. Concern No. 2: Stein is using the offensive line like I never thought would occur; as it is--he is pulling OL into open space to make big blocks, and in my film session in the OBD Get-Together I showed how our center was out on the perimeter on an old Outside Zone Read...just like Hroniss Grasu in the glory days! Then we saw this last week? That is 340 pound Steven Jones (No. 74) who is WAY downfield with his teammates to pave a touchdown? Whew!
  8. While I liked what I saw of Will Stein at UTSA, and of his background and track record...and just the fact that Dan Lanning has killed it in hiring coaches--I still had a couple of major concerns coming into the season. Some I wrote about here and in articles on FishDuck.com, and a few--not until now. I was concerned about: --Would Stein mix things up, and pull out new plays at key moments? --We would have four new starters on the offensive line; while I had confidence in most of the players returning and joining us, but would he use them to their fullest, or would he be hampered by them being partly Cristobal players, and by not being in his offensive system in the past? Concern No. 1: He is slowly unveiling more plays and formations as the season progresses, and that makes it very difficult for opposing defensive coordinators to prepare for. And I think he has more in his back pocket to be revealed soon...
  9. So Pac-12 viewership is massively up this year, and all that revenue should NOT go to the teams that created it? So now OSU has a good reason to steal 35 million from Oregon?
  10. Only if his Mommy is nearby...
  11. The beautiful part about these games with UW and OSU? These are the ones that COUNT, as they can brag about the others, but to win these would deprive them of winning the games that MATTER the most!
  12. The 2025 crop of defensive linemen on the west coast is thin, thus loading up now while you can and let the others fight for crumbs makes sense.
  13. For those not on the subscription boards...this buzz is strong about Jonathan Smith leaving for Michigan State. The newest surprise is Husky Coach Kalen DeBoer, as he is being linked to leaving for Texas A&M if he loses either of the next two games. If he wins them--it would be five weeks before he would be available, and TAMU wants him immediately. Wait...how many benefits are there for Oregon fans by Our Beloved Ducks winning the next two games? --Give the Beavers a loss in the final Pac-12 Civil War --Knock the Beavers out of the conference championship. --Put the Ducks into the conference championship. --Last time we face Jonathan Smith! --Rip the conference championship from the Huskies. --No Playoff for Washington. --Send DeBoer on his way, and never face him again? --Win the final Pac-12 Championship. --Get into the final four-team playoff! Good gosh...how many benefits ARE there for winning these last two? How glorious it would be!
  14. Thank you for being a classy representation of Duck fans. Unfortunately, as proven with my written eviscerations of Beaver fans who emailed me yesterday and Monday...I would not be as measured as you. "I Never Said I Was Noble."
  15. The attitude adjustment would be too big. Not a good fit...
  16. This will not age well...
  17. That ain't right. You know...if they took most of the future revenue streams--because they are still in the conference--I could understand that. But to steal 35 million away from Oregon from this year's revenue?
  18. In my view--beating Michigan would be easier than beating Washington, and beating the Beavers is still going to be a challenge. I enjoy the thoughts, but I've got two games to savor first!
  19. I will have a FishDuck Photographer on the field shooting the game for our writers...does that count? Tom Corno, (in the neon) shot incredible photos at Ohio State in 2021. He will be there!
