  1. When asked about what coaching strategies he employed in the first half..."It’s not coaching if nobody’s listening,” Altman said after the game.
  2. Great article, well researched, and sound reasoning. I always learn a lot from your writing, Jon, and this one got me pondering. In the B1G, I figured you might slide to Wisconsin, and your Trojan pick surprised me. But you made a great case…could we face Troy in the B1G championship game? My thanks!
  3. Whoa...did I read that right? Oregon will get 21 million a year--just for being in the B1G, who is part of the Playoffs? For perspective....remember how not long ago--Apple offered us 22 million each for our entire annual media contract. Meanwhile this Playoff revenue is EXTRA and beyond the our B1G media contract? Yep. I did read it correctly. "Under the new CFP arrangement, Big Ten and SEC members are set to each receive about $21 million annually..."
  4. Oregon (11-5) is taking on a highly improved Cal squad that is 11-3 and coming off a victory over Stanford, and SWEPT UCLA? Whew! Their coach formerly was at Stanford, and took them to Omaha in the past, so the Ducks have their hands full. Oregon's pitching is...not great. Our starters are very average, and our reliever depth is not as good as I'd hoped thus far. Oregon suffered a jarring loss at home on Tuesday to Portland, 15-5, where every aspect of our game was not good. I am looking for improvement, and I'll bet we see quite the fight in Our Beloved Ducks this weekend! (And it will be PERFECT weather for Baseball! Go to the game or watch it streamed by going to GoDucks.com, then Baseball, then Schedule, and the scroll down to the first Cal game, and click on the link)
  5. Our share is better than what we would’ve been in the PAC-12.
  6. Q: What is the one thing that Dan Lanning most needs to prove in the upcoming football season? — @johnniethek A: That he knows when to kick a field goal. Also, he needs to prove he can win big games. He’s got the rest down. I am not worried about Dan Lanning figuring these things out.
  7. More notes from On3, ScoopDuck.com.... On Thursday, Noah Whittington was in uniform and spider pads, participated in warmups, and fielded kickoffs during the portion of practice that was open to reporters. “We’re being conscientious of where (Whittington) is at,” Oregon head coach Dan Lanning said. “They’re doing a really good job with the treatment program — he’s way ahead of schedule. He’s done a really good job there. But we’ll be conscientious with him through the spring.” Junior cornerback Jahlil Florence delivered a breakout season last fall after locking down a starting spot opposite Khyree Jackson. But, toward the end of the year, he dealt with injuries and was not available for the Pac-12 Championship Game or the Fiesta Bowl. On Thursday, Florence was in street clothes. Lanning also noted that senior offensive lineman Faaope Laloulu has moved into a student assistant role with UO.
  8. Great to hear about Noah Whittington... SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM Oregon opened spring practice with a workout Thursday on the Ducks' outdoor practice fields.
  9. Now we get to play Arizona again, tomorrow at 5:00 ...oh-goody!
  10. Mike, if you or ANYONE has an article in them on these tasty topics-send it to me in an email! charles@fishduck.com
  11. And...I appreciate everyone being patient with the gambling site reference sentence at the beginning of many of our articles. The one today is a gambling site in India, and the SEO Marketing company setting this up and paying me by PayPal is in the Baltic country of Estonia. (City of Tallinn) As you know--these are real articles created for our reading audience, and by slipping in the backlinks--it helps their SEO profile with Google, and helps me pay the bills of the two sites. Tallinn, Estonia
  12. I do want to say that Duckster pointed out the recruiting differences and results superbly, and it was both informative and fun to read his article. Duckster is actually someone who wrote articles for FishDuck years ago, and has been in our forum community as well. He wrote an outstanding post a week ago that as Jon Joseph said, "is an article in itself." Very true, so let's make his posts as articles again! I want to thank him, and say that I was very pleased to get in touch and chat with him about his articles and Our Beloved Ducks. Duckster is truly a great Oregon fan as are the readers.
  13. Very cool, and very deserving...
  14. Seems they want the B1G to know that the Wolverines will still make an impact? Oregon has a Big-House visit!
