  1. Final stats are at the end of the thread...and there a ton of them. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0-0 after one inning, as both starting pitchers look good. Grayson Grinsell had a rough start to the season, but has recovered and brought his ERA down to 3.46 and we need great pitching today. I know...I am a glutton for punishment, or... I Might as Well Face it....I'm Addicted to DUCKS!
  2. In Softball, there four B1G teams ranked with Nebraska and Ohio State on the lower end of the top-25, while Oregon and UCLA are much higher. I have not checked, but I would bet that golf and tennis will probably be dominated by West Coast teams as well…
  3. In the first poll for Outdoor T&F...USC is No. 2 for the Men in the nation, and for the Women the Trojans are No. 1, so I think they may win the B1G Championships as well...
  4. There are 28 sports that the B1G competes in, and thus far the championships have been completed in 17 of those sports. Teams from the former Pac-12 of Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA have won SEVEN of those 17 championships thus far, with Our Beloved Ducks winning four of them. With eleven more championships to go in the academic year...the west coast teams, especially UCLA, will prosper in the spring sports. Will the former Pac-12 teams end up winning more B1G titles, than any other set of four original B1G members? Either the West-Coast-Four are a new Pain-in-Their-Side, or "Adding Prestige to the B1G?" The only ranked B1G teams in Baseball are UCLA and Oregon... You're OUT, Bruin!
  5. Everything they accuse us of, they have done… They say, ”we sued the Pac 12 for survival!” My response is, “yes, and Oregon left the Pac 12 for ultimate survival, as being in one of the super two conferences is crucial in today’s environment.” They say, “Oregon destroyed the Pac 12!” In my response is, “Oregon State has destroyed the Mountain West… How are you any different?” Answer? They are the same, only on a much smaller scale! Jabba is right…the PIG2 are settling into their true niche, not the falsely elevated and overpaid position they had in the original PAC-12.
  6. I am pulling for that to happen, and if not--the suggestion of the Chargers or the Broncos would be good too! Or the Lions? Sewell on the right side, and Conerly on the left?
  7. "I wonder if Oregon State and Washington State just built a conference they're not going to be competitive in." "So far, the results have not been great. They haven't been bad, either. They've mostly been mediocre." "...those schools could have just built a new Pac-12 they won't be very competitive in with regard to winning regular conference championships."
  8. This article is a HOOT! Credit DanLduck for finding it and passing it along...you gotta read this! Did Oregon State, Washington State build a Pac-12 they're not good enough to compete in? NEVADASPORTSNET.COM The easy thing for Oregon State and Washington State to do during the latest wave of conference realignment was a reverse merger with the Mountain West. The Be
  9. My fellow Duck-Buddies of both genders...above is a "money" article, where an entity in Europe wrote the article and inserted a link for a gambling site. For all the work I do to "improve" the article--I get paid a fee that I use to pay the bills of both FishDuck sites. I find the article interesting because it exemplifies how hard it is to write for the FishDuck audience. That article was written for the general public, and by someone who does not really know CFB, but relied on AI and their own homework to create an article that is adequate for the web, but not for our specific audience. Is there anything in the article that is new, that a savvy Duck fan here would NOT know? Nope. I usually do not accept guest articles for this reason, but they offered a hefty fee and I have site bills to pay--so I accepted it and had to do a boatload of work on it. Even then, it is NOT up to FishDuck standards compared to writers such as Jon Joseph, Alex Heining, David Marsh, Darren Perkins, Jordan Ingram...and of course--yours-truly. It is really hard to add something in an article that this sophisticated Oregon audience does not already know, or discussed already. I know the writers are often pinched for "what to write about" because it is not just the topic, but how can we add value to the reader? We try very hard, and the article above shows us all that FishDuck writers generally succeed in providing new information, or a new angle to consider in a topic. Tough work for these writers, and done...for FREE! When I see a FishDuck Writer...
  10. Your "editor" always learns so much from your articles! I about choked when I read about the Sopranos connection.
  11. 7-6 Portland is the final. Stokes choked...as he gave up a hit, walked another, hit a batter, and then hit another batter for the winning run. Oregon is getting everybody's best shot right now, and we have to pull it together...
  12. 6-6 after eight innings. Whew! Oregon's closer Cole Stokes got it done with a runner on third...now onto the ninth! Cole Stokes
  13. 6-6 after seven innings, as a Garcia fast-ball got sent yard. SCO-DUCKS! P.S. There are no videos provided on "X," so none to offer tonight.
  14. 6-5 Ducks after six innings. Anson Aroz hit a sweet two-run homer, and Santiago Garcia pitched Portland out of there, after a 1-2-3 side. His ninth home run!
  15. 5-4 Portland after five innings. All the scoring came from errors on both sides. Walks, overthrown to bases, wild pitches...whew! Oregon went through three pitchers...IN THAT INNING! I understand that you are trying to give some young-guns the opportunity to shine, but damn!
  16. 2-2 after four innings. The new Portland pitcher is throwing a slider that our beloved batters are not just missing, but missing by a MILE.
  17. 2-2 after three innings. Both Umlandt brothers were pulled after two innings, and Oregon's freshman pitcher Kellan Knox gave up a homer on his first pitch, but did well after that. Kellan Knox
  18. 2-1 Ducks after two innings. Ian Umlandt wiggled out of a bases-loaded jam. Whew! I recognize that nobody is watching this game since it is on ESPN+, but I had to shell out the bucks to watch because--you know me... "I Might As Well Face It...I'm ADDICTED TO DUCKS!"
  19. 2-1 Ducks after one inning. The highly interesting story-line is how Oregon's Ian Umlandt is going up against the Portland pitcher...his brother Nolan Umlandt. The Duck's Jacob Walsh crushed a two-run homer to start the scoring for Oregon, but I was surprised at how well the Pilots are hitting Ian already. (1.05 ERA) I get it Jacob....I LOVE our Ducks too!
  20. Despite my intense hatred for the Huskies, Trojans, etc...I do not want to see injuries anywhere with any team, especially with Our Beloved Ducks. I want to always beat our foes straight-up, our best against theirs without injuries. Playing them in Seattle this year...will be a challenge.
  21. Oh NO! (Trojans and Huskies will have a B1G Advantage...) NCAA requires football teams to field mascots in game - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM As if the college football world couldn’t get any crazier, the NCAA now finally plans to address the inequity between athletes and mascots in college sports. According to reports from multiple...
  22. Wow. Eight years is a chunk of your life, and I thank you for your service to the nation. Was there a particular location you enjoyed, or was memorable to you? It must have been cool to be on the flagship of that carrier class... Anybody else here serve or be on-board the Nimitz?
  23. She is to be replaced by the new Gerald Ford Class Aircraft Carrier USS John F. Kennedy, but first the USS Nimitz is headed out for her last deployment, which might be a signficant one in the Middle East. Anybody here have any memories on this honored vessel?
  24. Oregon falls 8-6... And if you're going to come in here and vent--I'll delete it. If I don't see you post when we are winning--I don't want to see your ragging posts when we lose. Don't be a bandwagon fan...be loyal, no matter what.
