  1. Nope. It will be on-going for five or six years, a subject of debate on a regular basis--even when we get a media contract. But in the end for Oregon....
  2. Lanning is recruiting WAY MORE Edge rushers than needed--by design; he is finding out who is best and the others can move on.... He knows that if he has a number of elite rushers, than he blitz at times, but also only rush four other times and create havoc with the various "simulated pressures" where the offensive line does not know where the pressure is going to come from. Overload a side with a couple of skilled pass-rushers, and someone can get through. Meanwhile, you have seven in the secondary--which makes it harder for the QB to squeeze passes into tight windows....especially if he is running for his life! Amen Duck-Brother!
  3. National writer for On3, Josh Newman gave his prediction, as did a Georgia On3 mod after Baker's visit recently to Athens. A big 5-Star that could boost the class!
  4. Is Oregon OC Will Stein telling us we will get verbals from four of the visitors this last weekend? Guesses are Frazier, Tauma, Mothudi, and McRoy? Can you break the code?
  5. Thank you for posting that David, as I was going to. In my article, is a screenshot of the worried expression on Chip Kelly’s face, as he knew he was screwed. There was not enough time for him to score enough to win…
  6. With Burch on one side, Matayo on the other and Dorlus rushing from the middle…we have weapons on defense unavailable last year! Throw in tighter coverage from the secondary, and the result will be a pass defense that is much, much better than 2022.
  7. Unfortunately it is the brains behind the SEC that have the most wisdom on this. The reasoning in the article above illustrates the value of the Oregon Brand beyond the location.
  8. No sweat. We can say anything about any writer, unless it is a FishDuck writer, of course. Thanks for the concern for our conference and this site.
  9. I think Kirk was trying to stir-the-pot by referring to opposing coaches as being "anxious," to play Colorado in 2023, when a better description would be curious or interesting. Everybody will keep their eye on the 'Buffs until they get their butt-kicked the first time, and I'm hoping it will come from Our Beloved Ducks.
  10. Right. You're a little late to the party, Vern, as we have been discussing this for a long time. Funny how we've been attracting some trolls lately...
  11. Yep, and all of you have unfortunately heard about it often since.
  12. So that is the criteria they use when making media deals...which determines the invites?
  13. I love you Jon, but this is one time I disagree. I want Oregon to be the top PAC-12 team by a MILE. I want our passion, our focus on the top teams in the US, and how we are going to recruit and strategize to beat THEM. I want to leave the Huskies in our dust, whimpering about “Evil Oregon” (their oft-used reference to us) and how they cannot catch us. That is my fantasy, and I’m sticking to it!
  14. Wait a minute…the Huskies could not recruit well due to their higher academic “standards,” their “prowess,” yet Stanford’s new coach is killing it in recruiting? Running out of excuses!
  15. When it rains.... Impact Statement: 4-Star Receiving Target Cancels Washington Visit, Commits to Stanford REALDAWGHUSKIES.COM A clearer picture is emerging of Washington’s big recruiting weekend as just a couple of days away from Emmett Mosley’s expected trip to Washington the 6-0, 175-pound receiver has...
  16. Now this is a subscriber site, but let's say they are worried and puzzled--as most Washington fans are. https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/uw-husky-football/uw-huskies-host-critical-official-visit-week-after-slow-recruiting-start/#comments I love some of the comments below it... "Oregon loads up on talent every year but underperforms and a ton of kids transfer out yearly. Texas and Texas A & M have top 5 talent and have not scared anyone yet." "Seems to me UW has to have a very high "close rate" given what appears to be an unfavorable ratio of limited decent prospects vs positional need." "TCU, Utah, UW, Oregon State - lots of teams crushing it with "average" talent now. Tons of teams loaded with 4 and 5 star talent doing faceplants now too. Maybe it's all about the portal now?" "95th in the country...for a top10 team?" Go ahead Washington...try to do what Oregon does!
  17. Steven A….”the KING of the One-Liners!” Your number “C” above truly made me LOL. Priceless. I am grateful for the gifts that everyone brings to this forum. Especially those that make me laugh!
  18. McRoy is a Rivals 3-Star, but if this staff wants him, then so do I. They have been great at gauging upside!
  19. In my 30 years experience of carefully watching the recruiting process…I cannot recall a player ever flipping who has shut down visits in June. That is why it is such a big news to me!
  20. When you only have one verbal....(help me finish this sentence!)....
  21. As I posted before...Fox Crader was a Rivals 3-Star when he verbaled to Oregon while Adrian Klemm was here. Then with the coaching change--Crader's status with Oregon was in doubt the same time his stature exploded with interest from major teams across the US. He was elevated to 4-Star recently, and had a visit to Oregon this last weekend, and here are some tidbits from 247 Sports... "What stood out the most for me was the family atmosphere that was constantly shown through everything we did," said Crader. "The staff really loves the players and wants them to be the best version of themselves, on and off the field." "The coaches are outstanding. They are full of energy and knowledge and I am really impressed with the staff as a whole. I talked a lot to coaches about what the future holds for Oregon football. I think that’s been a hot topic lately and I got a good picture of what that will look like. I also got to talk ball, and learn ways that coach (A'Lique) Terry works with the line." Duck players from the state of Washington were hosting him..."Josh Conerly Jr. and Dave Iuli were my hosts," said Crader. Crader visited Oklahoma and USC officially this month in addition to Oregon but said..."as far as official visits, I am done taking them," said Crader.
  22. Paul Finebaum is the modern sports version of...
  23. And economists...."Usually wrong, but never in doubt!"
