Conference Confusion: Have You Arrived at THIS?
Look....I am a muttering mass of protoplasm at times talking about this. And I really think I've gone through the stages of grief for the Pac-12, and have come to "acceptance." This is my own spin, the mind games I apply internally to retain sanity as an Oregon fan... "I will make the best of whatever happens. If we go to the B1G...then the travel sucks, we won't win as many games, but we will have more prestige and money to stay relevant for the top recruits. If we go to the Big-Pac, then the travel sucks and it is not one of the Super-Conferences, but we have a chance to win more games and still have an impact on the national discussion." In other words... "It is good-or-good." (Or I will make it that way internally) Are you there yet? No, I'm still not feeling quite myself yet...

Mr. FishDuck: Crazed Duck Fan, or Generous Ambassador of Oregon Football?
I wanted to announce the new "About Us" link at the top of the site, since most here do not know the history of the two sites. Thank you Jordan for this very kind article, and thanks to all for their wonderful words on my 66th birthday today.

The Facts: Pac-12 Actual Viewership Over Past 10 Years...
I brought this over from another site and appreciate the homework the fellow did...and how about that? With all of the realignment discussion, I decided to gather viewership history for the PAC 12 going back to 2012. These numbers are what I believe will drive the realignment discussion, and Oregon clearly brings the value with the highest average viewership in the PAC-12. 10 Year Average Oregon 3,355,620 USC 2,898,676 Stanford 2,537,460 Washington 2,168,508 UCLA 1,983,096 Utah 1,711,963 Washington State 1,586,624 Arizona State 1,476,621 CAL 1,455,353 Arizona 1,323,943 Colorado 1,316,262 Oregon State 1,266,235 Full Data can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mmhVtiVAzkxbDtGoo1iGBVKpGs2wLkfd8tIXX4y01Os/edit?usp=sharing Information was sourced from here: https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/college-football-tv-ratings/

Here’s Hoping This USC/UCLA-Big Ten Merger Careens Off the Track, Crashes and Burns | Jones
Awesome article, thanks. But when you talk about travel...if we merge with the Big-12....have you ever flown to Houston?

OK, Let's Slow Down and Think This Through...
Yet USC feels that joining the B1G will help them dominate SoCal recruiting? And the post above is why I love the astute members of this forum...to help us consider all the aspects--many of which we may not have thought of. Good stuff to ponder...

Report: Arizona Meeting with Big-12 This Week...
"Sources indicate to WildcatAuthority.com that there is a meeting between members of the Pac-12 and Big 12 that is scheduled for Tuesday. As of now, the meeting is to discuss Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, and Colorado joining the Big 12. It is not clear how far down the line the conversations currently are, and this is not the first discussion, however, it has been stated that Tuesday is by far the biggest meeting of significance that has taken place." Looking to Escape?

The Conference Dominoes Start with Notre Dame...in a Few Days
Only 13% of the total UO budget comes from the State of Oregon, but the Athletic Department receives none, as they have been self-funding for years. We can only hope they don't stick their nose into this...
-
George Kliavkoff is now Working AGAINST Oregon
He will do all he can to keep the Pac-12 alive, and that means he has a responsibility to the conference to do whatever it takes to keep Oregon and Washington in the conference. I sure hope Oregon is getting good advice...because I don't think a university president knows squat about this.

Big 12 Expansion East or West
Unfortunate, but true. It is all about the eyeballs, the size of the market now, and not the recent success. Otherwise...Washington would be out of the picture when you consider all their sports. The biggest 18 markets among the two conferences for the "Big-Pac?"

Big 12 Expansion East or West
First of all...we enjoy having reasonable fans of other schools join us for rational, measured discussion. Your post was a great start, so WELCOME! My merger, the Big-Pac, are at least enough to have 18 teams in total for two divisions of nine teams each. Play eight conference games as the SEC does, and four non-conference with an assumption that we will not have the same funding as the two Super-Conferences, but we can still be relevant. I speak only for myself, but I do not like any of the options staring at us. I do not want to join any conference, even the B1G, but the time for a relevant independent Pac-12 has passed with recent events. BTW....the Pac-12 is the Conference of Champions. We were the first and only conference to have 500 National Championships among all sports, the first conference to have a school with 100 National Championships, (UCLA, USC, & Stanford) and the first conference to have 200 Womens Championships. Oregon is tied for 13th among all NCAA schools for National Championships, while Baylor is not in the top 40. (We have a lot to offer besides just football and basketball.) That's It!! Join the SEC!
So do we when he lied about continuing the offense that made Oregon known because "it’s a brand of football they love to see and support." I was at that press conference and stayed afterward 15 minutes after everyone left and he spoke to me privately about the Oregon offense, and what to expect. The feelings you think he had? They should have been shame, for his management decisions, and how he deceived the Duck faithful. He deserved the boos...
