  4. This something that I did not notice, but Avalos did not write a public farewell to the Ducks, and none of the players or Mario have publicly wished him well at Boise? There is a story there...
  5. Big game for the Women in so many ways--the Wildcats will give the Duck freshmen something to learn from...
  6. You know John Canzano does not always write negative articles ... it just seems that way! This is a good one referring to sports and real-life and an interesting one to ponder.
  7. It does not come as a complete surprise that Oregon finished outside the top 25 (article right here) for 2020 after the bad bowl loss. However Our Beloved Ducks are already in the Top 15 for 2021 in an early ESPN poll right here. Cool.
  8. Coach Eric Boles had some good picks in his article recently, and this is an article about one of them interviewing with Cristobal. I like him because he learned from Rocky Long, who has had defenses that I admire. Brandon Dorlus!
  9. It would be...in a couple of years with more performance IMHO. Makes the script all the better...
  10. With change comes opportunity. As Andy Avalos leaves Oregon to take the head coaching job at Boise State, there is an opportunity for Mario Cristobal to evaluate the Oregon defense and elevate the defense to the next level. Coach Eric Boles was kind enough to give us his most recent list of top five defensive coordinator candidates, which shows us ... Read the full article here...
  11. The hardest question at that position in a long time, and we have a long off-season to discuss it. Spring football could be fun to see some of the new faces and if they shine right away...

  13. That is GREAT to hear from an attorney, so THANK YOU for the informed post. Whew!
  14. OREGON ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE |TUESDAY, JANUARY 12, 2020 EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon men’s basketball program has paused all team-related activities because of COVID-19 protocols. As a result, the Ducks’ games on Thursday, Jan. 14 against Arizona State and Saturday, Jan. 16 against Arizona are being postponed. Rescheduled dates for those contests will be announced when finalized.
  15. As Coach Graves said, "she makes the defense shrink and then kicks it out to our good shooters!" How ABOUT that background picture!
  16. I am in agreement with David on this one! Lots of questions, but that is the fun of watching the drama play out...
  17. Fun stuff, and sure...that fellow would fill a need at Nose Tackle!
  18. Interesting topic Haywarduck, and thanks for getting it going. (Everyone start a topic!) I am leery of promising other sports because it dilutes the player's potential in both. However offering some fullback/running back opportunities as we've spoken of with Sewell makes sense. I think your idea of tight end is a good one, and he would actually last longer with less body damage, although Cam McCormick might disagree with that. Yet if he can become a dominating defensive tackle--big paychecks await, and I think he should focus entirely on that and become the best that he can. But I see your reasoning for recruiting...interesting stuff to ponder.
  19. No. Now is not the time, ... because the right time was two years ago! So the answer from me really is yes.

  21. You made me smile. Trust me...if you were that guy? You would certainly know it with the email discussions we would have had by now. Moderating is done privately, but not in a knee-jerk reaction. It is a discussion of conveying our MO on this site, and rarely do I have to blacklist someone off the site. Usually they decide that this site is not a match-up for them and leave on their own after they have learned we are serious about our rules.
  22. Whew! Big questions that frankly--the future of Oregon football is hinged upon IMHO. --Will Cristobal realize you have to score a boatload of points to win the big games? --Will Cristobal let the Coordinators do their job and he focus on recruiting, culture and PR? The difference between being nine-win team and a 12 to 14 win team is dependent upon how he addresses those questions. Great stuff, and fantastic first post Massduck! Welcome!
