  1. I am in agreement except for offensive innovation; we don't have to create something, but return to what we once owned...
  2. Could the Ducks bait the Wildcats into silly fouls because they are so fired up? Should Graves accelerate the intensity by stomping and yelling? No cussing, but getting the Arizona team out of their head? Or would this fuel them with anger and hurt Oregon? Some interesting tactical items to address that if played correctly--could help the Ducks?
  3. Former Mario assistant coach Bryan McClendon is now at Georgia, and he is telling receiver recruits to avoid Miami because "he runs the ball a lot." And McClendon should know! Cane fans are not happy, but is it the truth? (There is NO DOUBT in my mind that there would have been a big exodus of receivers out of Oregon right now had Mario stayed at Oregon)
  4. Press Release from Oregon Athletics BOULDER, Colo. — Oregon finished with a season-best 12 steals and outscored Colorado 30-16 in the second half to give the Ducks a 66-51 road win. How It Happened: Oregon struggled early and finished the first half at 38 percent shooting from the field. Turnovers and sloppy play got the Ducks behind as many as eight points in the half, with seven turnovers creating momentum and easy baskets for the Buffaloes. Jacob Young kept Oregon within striking distance, scoring 16 points in the first, connecting on six-of-nine field goals. The Ducks looked to be heading into the break down a basket, but after a Quincy Guerrier offensive rebound, Young hit a three-pointer at the top of the key to give Oregon a one-point lead at the break. "I thought we finished the half well and started the second half okay," said head coach Dana Altman. "I thought it was important to have that little push there. You don't want to go in down five or seven and have to battle back all second half. I thought it gave us a little bounce." Oregon's second half got out to a positive start, creating easy baskets, and scoring in transition. By the 11:55 mark in the second, the Ducks had built a 49-43 lead. The positives would continue for the Ducks, who would go on a 9-0 run to push the lead to 11 points, a lead they would not relinquish. The half proved to be a dominate one for Oregon, who outscored Colorado 30-16. It was the first road win for the Ducks in series history. "I don't get too high after a win or too low after a loss," said Altman. "When we've gotten beat here, the next thing we're thinking about was that we have to go beat Utah. It's been written but I haven't thought that much about it. I think the biggest thing is we have to move on." Who Stood Out: Young led the team with 21 points and the Ducks improved to 4-0 when Young is the leading scorer. Will Richardson finished with a season-high five steals, one shy of his career-best. De'Vion Harmon also tied his season-high with three thefts. Up Next: The Ducks continue the mountain road trip in Salt Lake City, taking on Utah on Saturday (5:30 p.m. PT, FS1).
  5. I am pretty stoked to have heard this in the interview on Wednesday, and fun to read about it and more. It is a deceptive title, but there are good points to consider. Dan Lanning Fully Expects to Continue Oregon's History of Offensive Innovations by Don Smalley of Ducks Wire
  6. He makes some good points, but to get the grade he gave--we needed a boatload more 4 and 5-Star players than what we signed, IMHO. Agree? Oregon Football: Grading Dan Lanning’s 2022 Recruiting Class by Connor Muldownery of Autzen Zoo
  7. So Adia Barnes is portrayed as the "good-guy" here, and Graves is the bad guy? Is it going to even be safe for Coach Graves to be there? He will be considered "against" women? This is not good...
  8. Hey VM3...great to have you on-board, and do post often. WELCOME!
  9. No...we don't need the Huskies to be good for something like 15 years to even up the rivalry numbers. For now...I would like the Ducks to be the PNW champions...and the hated rival of USC in the national eye.
  10. Life is good, the world is in order again and the OBD forum exhales its relief at our own CalBear95 returning. I don't know how anyone could write it better...what we all feel. I think we are going to owe Rob Mullens in a BIG way before this is over, as I cannot believe the gap he has created versus nearly all the conference already. Whether we win a 'Natty with him or not....we as fans will get to see a TON of WINNING at Oregon!
  11. The Huskies were out-recruited by... New Mexico Kent State Central Michigan Georgia Southern It's Gotta Hurt...
  12. Wowsa. I don't have the article--from another site... “The Huskies have crossed their collective fingers that Kalen DeBoer’s first recruiting class is sneaky-good. We’ll believe it when we see it, frankly. For now, UW’s recruiting class doesn’t appear good enough — not nearly good enough — to support future success. Nor does it compare in quality to those of USC and Oregon, which also underwent coaching changes. In our view, the Huskies have a damaged brand, both within Washington and across the Pac-12 footprint. The speed of the salvage operation will determine the success of the DeBoer era once it matures in Years Three and Four“ "I'll just give that pooch from Oregon a nudge...
  13. A very talented 360 pound 3-Star....again you can find guys that big, but strong, athletic and quick? Georgia is in the middle of the prime recruiting ground for D-Linemen, and it is quick and easy to get there in the Southeast. Levitt wanted to run a true 3-4 defense, but could not get the Nose Tackle out of the South he needed. He tried, and we were close...
  14. Recruiting defensive line is so hard, and Danno is going to see how hard it is to pull the Big-Boys away from Mama's cooking in the South. I would be looking in Hawaii and Samoa as well....
  15. Amen to that, and FamilyofDucks--do post often and WELCOME! And...Georgia had a 360 pound defensive tackle in the 'Natty, so maybe Coach Lanning wants a player who demands double-teams? A true Nose-Tackle has been hard to recruit to Oregon because there are so few of them.
  16. You learn more about him, as he can become a key part of Lanning's new defense.
  17. Thanks kirklandduck for bringing this as I believe Lanning had some subtle stuff thrown into his conversation as well.
  18. GREAT reminder, and you are quite right, as this IS big. If Oregon has a great year next year--we could poach some more from WA.
  19. Bringing in two defensive linemen from the Portal tells me that Coach Lanning is concerned about the depth and talent on the defensive line. I think it is warranted, because after Dorlus and Popo...the depth has a ton of inexperience, AND they are very light in weight as I pointed out a few times last fall. I read somewhere that Taki from the north was brought in to start? Ah, how many defensive tackles are we going to have? I thought Dorlus and Popo were starters there? Note he was not going after DE/OLBs in the Portal, but defensive tackles. Now this 5-Star DT becomes available? Behold the Lanning-Love that awaits him! You want me to tell to you about Oregon?
  20. I do this once in a while, and tells you the overall quality of your class when your numbers are fewer. Pac-12 Recruiting: Ranking teams by Commitments' Average Talent Rating After Signing Day by Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire
  21. I amended what Log Haulin started at the top, and I cannot convey enough to all Oregon fans....that video is absolutely KILLER for the Oregon fan. Not rah-rah, but the information... And the offensive coordinator could not have made things more exciting to me....impossible. Coach Boles is going to have a BALL breaking this down over the off-season! If you don't watch it--you will really miss a ton of insight--wow. And THANKS to Log Haulin for posting it! This Oregon Coach (left) is VERY Impressive...
  22. We have EPIC games set up in the future....MUST-SEE TV...
