Travis Dye on Transfer to USC: "It was Tough"
Another Ducks Wire blah-blah article with quotes from the other day--and this nonsense about "being close to family?" If he makes an NFL roster....how close will he be then? So this is being close to family for ONE YEAR? I think he lapped up NIL...

If a Dawg Barks Alone in a Washington Forest....Does it Make Any Noise?
Oh brother....Georgia fans are very proud of their "Dawg" label, and were curious if the Huskies tried to make a claim to the same spelling? (I can't make this stuff up!) No, it is just a Husky barking alone....and I recognize that bark...it is one of being "frightened."

Is Ware Going to be the Answer to Oregon's BIG Dreams?
Prehm makes a good point; it takes a year or so to become a dominant force. None of those guys started that way... (Well, Bol Bol wasn't around long enough for us to see) Jordan Bell

Feeling Better About Oregon's New Coaching Staff Every Day....
Amen Duck-Brother, as we are hearing the most encouraging things about our offense since....Willie Taggart! (Before you snarl....even with Herbert hurt--Taggart scored more than Cristobal averaged over his four years) Under Chip/Helf, we took it for granted and loved it. And to me...the code for "creating matchups" means the passing game. It happens with a slot WR on a linebacker or safety for example, or a speedy running back beating a covering linebacker down the sideline for a wheel route. Fun to watch for!

Coach K’s Final Karma for Unethical Behavior Ends Career
We allow "commentary" about anyone/anything of a personal nature with the exception of current players and coaches. We can be negative about the player performance or coaching decisions, but we cannot get personal about current players and coaches. Everyone/everything else is fair game. While it would be nice to limit some of that--it is a nightmare enough enforcing a standard not known anywhere else on the web as it is.

What the Oregon Ducks Are Giving Up for Lent
My friends, this is a fun article written four years ago, and I hope you enjoy it as I did! It Has Been Decided Which Side of the Ball DJ Johnson Will Play...
I don't understand, because when I use an incognito window--I can see it. Oh well...we need a replacement for Thibs, and DJ needs to make the most of this year--so this works for all parties. --------------------------------------------------- Against Ohio State on September 11, 2021, Johnson had one of the most remarkable few minutes you can imagine for a college football player. Johnson wearing No. 12, on offense, caught a crucial third-down pass, as a tight end, with 2:41 remaining in the game to give Oregon a chance to ice the game. As a defensive lineman, Johnson ended the game with a sack of CJ Stroud a few minutes later. Johnson finished the year playing both sides of the ball, finishing with 11 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack. Those events lead us to this year and the revolving door: where is DJ Johnson playing this season? New defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi has the answer. "I know DJ (Johnson) was doing kind of a lot of things and sharing both duties and playing tight end and after evaluating the film, as to the day we decided to take this job, that was certainly going to change, in my opinion," said Lupoi on Thursday. "As long as the head coach signed off of that, I wanted DJ to play defense. So I think he's got the right mindset mentality. Obviously, having to share duties and play both ways and stuff, there's going to be some stuff that we got to improve with him. And I've been really impressed by how he's attacked the process, especially the mental aspect of the defense and the concentration to go get better. You know, this guy is on a mission to improve every day, that's obvious to me." So far, in spring practice, Johnson, faithful to Lupoi's words, has been lining up with the defensive ends/outside linebackers. He has slimmed down noticeably and looks to be ready to make his impression known. "As far as what I'm asked to do (with the new defense) it's to play how I play," said Johnson on Thursday. Johnson has certainly made his presence known to other members of the outside linebacker group, including projected starter Bradyn Swinson. "DJ Johnson," said Swinson about who is standing out so far. "He was at tight end the last few years, know he's transitioning back. It's like he hasn't missed a step. DJ came back fast, motor is fast, fast-twitch, fast get off, everything is fast. He's out there working. He's out there trying to outwork anybody running to the ball, and I'm just excited. I'm excited to see that." Johnson will be wearing No. 2 this season, lining up on defense but admits that "everything is a possibility" on where he could play for the 2022 season.

What Coach Wasikowski Said
It is what he said to his assistant coaches that would interesting to hear....as he pointed to the Bruins and said, "THAT is where I want our pitching to be in the future." He is coaching hitting superbly, and once he gets pitchers here like that--look out! For now, I think the pitchers we have are coached up wonderfully, and are competing so close...but in the end the UCLA pitchers did not blink and Oregon's did. We are on the right path at Oregon...better days and lots of wins ahead of us!

Too Much Negative: The End is NOT Near for Oregon Football
Hello Jon, It is good to clarify things and your post contains many areas for us to do so. Please keep in mind...I do not make the rules; all of YOU do. I simply want a civilized and pleasant place to read and discuss the Ducks, and when someone does something that could hurt that--I make a new rule. Every rule is there because people did these things, and I wish I did not need to have any of them. 1. The above comes under the category of new "Breaking News" about transfers. Anything pertaining to these subjects that is new....we discuss as I wrote in the article and in a post above. For example, Denis transferring out is news, and there will be more transfers after Spring Football, and we do discuss it in those new threads. However, if anyone uses that thread to launch into a review of what has already been written 100 times already...it will be deleted. 2. That topic has been covered...the moves, the blunders and incompetence by the Commissioners and University Presidents extensively already. We do not need to rehash it over-and-over again. However, when new Breaking News about that topic surfaces, (and it will often) I then encourage discussion of this new element. A complete rehash in a post of what has already been extensively covered will be deleted...as I don't want to read it again. 3. Jon, I covered that in the article and in above posts: We do "Critical Analysis" here, and negative discussion of player performance and coaching decisions is encouraged and welcome. This is not a ban on negative; it is a ban on stuff we have read at least 100 times that is extreme negative concerning the referenced topics. 4. Jon, please see No. 1 above. When new Breaking News comes out about anything pertaining to the three components you mentioned directly above--we do discuss it with vigor. However we do not rehash old stuff in current threads, or rehash information everyone has read 100 times in the new threads. There is a pattern to my rule... 5. Jon, Mario was not mentioned at all in article, as he does not fit all the topics listed. How we address him is in No. 26 of the Rules, as prior coaches and players are fair game. Besides...I have a really good GIF to share when it aligns with the right Mario topic, and we can't lose that! 6. Agreed. And that is why when new Breaking News about these topics emerge--we will most certainly discuss them and it is quite permissible. Also--see No. 1 and No. 4 above please. 7. I believe you are trying to divert from the crux of the issue; I do not want to see stuff we have read 100, if not 1,000 times already. I have stated often and it is in the rules how I want to see all opinions, especially those that are different from mine as I become a better, informed fan and sometimes even change my mind. This new rule is not designed to quash discussion on other topics or news. 8. See No. 7 above and in particular No. 3 above, as we are not "Sunshine Pumpers" here. You and I were on the negative side of Cristobal's offense from the beginning, and that freedom still exists to disagree with anything going on. There is no other site that provides this freedom and protection from the owner. I call it the way I see and believe it to be, regardless of the topic and provide that freedom to everyone. However, I no longer provide the freedom to repeat items of extreme negative that have already been posted 100-1,000 times already because that hurts the wonderful atmosphere we have here. 9. I run into that often when someone disagrees with my rules. Since I am the one devoting hundreds of hours to doing tons of tasks like this, and giving thousands of dollars to have this platform available to Duck fans for free--I will create rules that I believe are for the best of the community. See No. 35 in the rules as it pertains to "Free-Speech." Private business can censor, and if you do not believe me, ask YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. I appreciate you asking these questions, as this is now a link I can provide to others to save me a ton of keyboarding in the future. Charles

Too Much Negative: The End is NOT Near for Oregon Football
It was suggested to me by one of my Duck-Buddies, that people are so frustrated with life at the moment--that any available avenue to blow off steam and vent is used to offset that frustration. This forum is an easy one to vent on, and we have perfect topics to vent about. (NIL/Portal/Pac-12 Incompetence, etc.) My response? The good people in this community are not your therapists couch; go blow off steam somewhere else because I cannot take any more of it. Our moderators are not looking for negative, as negative toward all other topics is fine, but we are looking for the extreme negative in the aforementioned topics and we ask...."is this just another re-hash we've read so many times?" If it is...I don't want to read it again, and the post will be deleted. And shawnski and latracey--thanks for your kind thoughts.

Dillingham Sees Oregon as a SEC School in the West
Fantastic quotes. Between the defensive coordinator yesterday, and the office of coordinator today, it seems that our coaches are pretty excited about the future of Oregon football. They BELIEVE in our upside!
