  1. Thanks, and it looks like we will not need an interim coach after all!
  2. He is going to look much better in green...and it says he will coach Georgia in the Playoffs. Dan Lanning tabbed at Oregon by Anthony Dasher of UGASports
  3. I think this is a fantastic hire that is going to really excite the fan base, and goodness knows...I can't wait to get Coach Boles to look at his defensive strategies!
  4. The jump from OC or DC to head coach is quite normal in both college and the NFL...I mean, where do the head coaches come from? If you only hire head coaches...eventually they all die! Then what? Chip Kelly was OC...not at a big school, but New Hampshire before Oregon. Rich Brooks had been position coaches in the NFL and a DC at Oregon State, but never had a head coaching gig before Oregon hired him. Kirby Smart was a DC at Alabama before being the HC at Georgia, and Dabo Swinney was the Wide Receiver Coach at Clemson before being elevated! Ryan Day was OC before becoming HC at Ohio State, and that about covers a number of the top programs. I see your concerns, but when a star shines so bright...the next step up is inevitable, and the question is...with which team is it going to be with?
  5. You are correct about Chip, and that was true of Rich Brooks as well. Coach Bellotti was a HC at Chico State before coming to Oregon to be OC.
  6. Thank you both for reporting it to the community!
  7. Yes....that was posted here yesterday is just a little bit down the page. My point is that there are conflicting reports, (such as that one you referenced) and at least we know for certain that he IS a candidate.
  8. With all the stuff flying about...this article helps to clear up some of the confusion, and I'm glad to see the Ducks are after him! Report: Georgia's Dan Lanning a Candidate for Oregon HC Job Amid Conflicting Rumors by Paul Kasabian of Bleacher Report
  9. I don't trust any beer I can see through....
  10. And where do you live now?
  11. Thanks. If we get a splash hire like Dan Lanning--then go with him or another that the fans will rally around and has high probability of doing well. But if we are left with the "B" list of Oregon Retreads...I believe an Interim Coach would be best for Oregon.
  12. One of my favorite beers, Red Chair Northwest Pale Ale, from the Deschutes Brewery (Official Beer of the Pac-12) is now available! It is seasonal, from now until April to coincide with Ski Season. I've been waiting SO LONG for it and I just got my first six-pack tonight coming home from the office. Now I love Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale, and my go-to is Deschutes Inversion IPA, but when Deschutes Red Chair Northwest Pale Ale is available....that's the one! There are SO MANY great craft beers in Oregon...which is YOUR favorite?
  13. My friends...the rumor is that this guy might be an OC candidate for Lanning since they worked together on other staffs. Boat-raced 48 points on St. Nick? Kenny Dillingham Wikipedia Google Information about him....
  14. Fantastic find McDuck! Thanks for posting this...and I do want to encourage everyone to bring the news to the thousands in the growing community.
  15. OK....as a Cat GIF aficionado...I laughed out loud, as it is perfect. Thanks 81DuckAlum!
  16. No sweat. Can't do any better than that and besides....let's see how this plays out. And HawaiiDuck? Thanks for thinking of the community and posting. Do refresh your computer and note the avatar I created for you... And WELCOME!
  17. I love how you think, and tomorrow morning yours-truly will have an article right up that alley...
  18. There appear to be rumors of a couple of names for Head Coach that nobody knows about, (not a surprise to me and good!) and it might not be until Sunday before any announcement is made. I pass this along simply to relieve tension, and let you know this is going to go on longer. Thus we might as well take a breath and get on with life because I would be stunned if there was an announcement today, and a little surprised if one was made tomorrow. And THANKS to the good people who are posting articles, and even rumors in good faith. We are all in this together my FishDuck Friends... We gotta have a little fun as we go....
  19. It is difficult, but I try to measure sincerity and intent. In the case of the fellow reporting that Chip is going to be hired...he provided the link to the Bruin website proclaiming it. So he posted in good faith and thus escaped the Wrath of Charles. Charles just found out that a writer missed his deadline... What I love about this site is that there is an extraordinary effort to be respectful, and that people here make an effort to honestly honor each others' opinions. I've been everywhere man, and there is nothing quite like this anywhere. I've seen wrong information posted with good intentions or an attempt at humor, but I haven't seen much in the way of purposeful attempts to steer people in the wrong direction. latracey....you have no idea how much that means to me. So MUCH work behind the scenes to create and preserve this community, and when I read your words--it gives me comfort that my mission is on the right path. THANK YOU.
