I just had a conversation with a Beaver fan...and addressed the "Oregon is buying recruits" assertion. It only takes five seconds to realize that...if Oregon only did it with money, then why didn't we get EVERY 5-Star recruit over the last three years that NIL has been legal? I asked him if he could answer that...and of course he could not. Dakorien Moore's mother was interviewed by Texas media, and she admitted to the press that "Oregon was not the highest NIL offer; it was close, but it was less." The information that has been coming from the pay-sites (who have inside access) over the last three years is that Oregon will almost never be the highest NIL offer, as the Ducks sell the total package to the recruit. Even then, we miss more than we acquire. It also only takes five seconds for someone to ask and figure out the answer to the question...."why is Oregon recruiting so well? Oregon has had money, brand, glitz for years....why now?" Well, let's see...what is different over the past? Could it be DAN LANNING and his staff? I had never heard of the new running back coach Ra'Shad Samples before, and he is instrumental in the recruitment of both recent 5-Star recruits--and he has only been in Eugene a few months? This is incredible hiring by Lanning, as he and the staff ARE the difference from before. I do not care for implications that Oregon buys recruits when it only takes five seconds to think it through, and understand how that is not true.

My FishDuck Friends....what is happening at Washington is simply unbelievable, as I know financial professionals who work in Seattle due to all the Tech and business people worth more than 10 million. Microsoft, Amazon, Starbucks, etc. makes this area one of the richest on earth. And they are not tapping it? That is an organizational problem, a management problem of their Planned Giving Office, not a shortage of money out there. Washington, USC, and Oregon State do not have the robust organization that Oregon does, and as fans--we are very fortunate. Imagine a coach begging for donations!

If Fisch begging for NIL donations-huh! I wonder why DeBoer left for Alabama? My concerns for Washington NIL...

You know, we are just fans watching, but it sure makes you appreciate the people putting together things like Division Street for Oregon... I'm sure they'll figure it out...

The fact is....the damn Trojans still have NINE players of 13 verbals who are 4/5-Stars with Rivals, and with a usual finish--they will have a top 15 class, if not higher. No need for them to panic. I'm sure Lincoln will figure it out...

Great article David, and in the end...."haters are gonna hate" on Oregon. If money was the sole reason for choosing Oregon, and we truly had an unlimited budget--then we would get ALL the 5-Star guys, and our class would be better than tOSU's class. Oregon has always had money, brand, and NIKE associated with us, but the difference is Dan Lanning, and... ...that is making other teams concerned and taking notice.

My FishDuck Friends, this is delicious, and yes...we have to do it on the field. But right now--hospitals have tons of whiplash cases because has Oregon turned so many heads in the last month. These guys have some good comments about recruiting, and...it is just fun to listen to.

You know, when actual negative stuff happens...then we discuss, foment, and deal with it as usual in this forum. (Such as losing to Washington) But not enjoying things until the 'Natty happens? Then when we do win one...we can lament how we did not enjoy the journey? Oh, my...
