Oregon Gets B1G Road Sweep Beats Penn State 82-81!

I was actually surprised at all the ticky-tac calls they made...hand-checking, barely bumping, etc. Looked like Pac-12 refs there for a bit! -

Oregon Gets B1G Road Sweep Beats Penn State 82-81!

No, they did what I call, "announcing from a perspective," in that they were serving the larger Penn State/B1G audience. They gave us credit, but everything was explained from a PSU perspective.. Tough game, and tough comeback. We were up 14 in the first half, down by nine with six and a half minutes left and frankly--all the 'MO' was with the 'Lions. But this veteran group created a bunch of turnovers, hit some clutch threes and PSU missed some open looks at the end...and OBD prevailed. Whew! -
Mental stuff. He still drops passes as he did at Oregon, and messes up on a regular basis. But I was delighted with the 1st quarter bomb, and how the TV Analysts stated three times that it was, "an Oregon-to-Oregon" connection!

For many....he is not a name many would know, but this article is interesting is very informative. The writer, the late Jim Maloney, wrote many superb Oregon Sports history articles for us. Jim Loscutoff: an Oregon Star and NBA Enforcer | FishDuck FISHDUCK.COM Few Oregon fans have heard of Jim Loscutoff and even fewer know much about him, yet in his first season at Oregon he averaged 10.3 points per game and 12.8… What? He averaged over 17 rebounds a game in his final season at Oregon and won SEVEN NBA Championships with the Celtics? Whew!

Reflections on Ohio State Going Into Title Game?

We don’t look so good if Ohio State loses, and frankly I am concerned that they played their ‘Natty game effort in the Rose Bowl. -

Ruh-Roh! Texas Fans SO Appreciate Their Coach...

Every fan base is between "critical" to "brutal" of their head coach when they lose a big game. Great to see such good sports at Texas... A critical fan who cannot spell "pressure?" -

UCLA Men's Basketball Coach is "Sending a Message"
Charles Fischer replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
What he says about officials allowing Maryland to "mug" his team without calling fouls does not sound promising for us either. His warning may help the new Pac-12 teams in the B1G by letting the officials know we are on to them. -
Reflections on Ohio State Going Into Title Game?

The Buckeye fans who have visited here have been fun to chat with and are quite reasonable. But Ohio State has their percentage of "Lunatic-Fringe" as below are posts during the game when things got tied up by Texas... Now you see why we have a rule in this OBD Forum against "Venting" during a game. -

We will disagree. All Dillon needed was 2.4 seconds to throw a lofter, and let Stewart come down with it or the penalty. I will agree that Chip Kelly out-schemed us, I believe we could have stayed in scoring reach with Stewart. The difference is beyond immeasurable. Stewart threatens deep, mid-range opens up for Tez, and osu2 can't crowd the short zones. Match scoring, and we still have a running game....which also changes the defensive line surge and the game. You can't take away the most consequential former 5-Star, (who runs in the 4.30s) and not have any difference. And he can get open on the best of their corners on shorter routes..
