Oregon’s Offense is Becoming Watchable
Charles Fischer replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Good points and there is truth in what you wrote; we are not there yet, but this is the most progress in the nearly four years of Cristobal. -
These uniforms next to Battleship Grey? Ducks win! My friends...THAT is a very cool helmet, and for those who have a boring all-green helmet as an avatar--I will be replacing them with the left one you see below next week. I like the old green ones with the "O" in them, but the all-green recent year versions are kinda blah compared to this new one. vs.

ESPN FPI Not Optimistic for Oregon's Stretch Run
Charles Fischer posted a topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Funny how that works with ESPN, but doesn't this seem really skewed? ESPN FPI Update: Oregon Expected to Face Major Difficulties over Final Weeks of the Season by Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire -
I did not know they were that big, and our defensive tackles are undersized to start with? A Physical Utah Offense Will Try to Bully the Ducks Down the Field by Don Smalley of Ducks Wire

The Oregon Offense: Tight Bunch Triple Option
Charles Fischer replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Thank you Coach as this was a Blast-from-the-Past for me. We ran a similar play a decade ago with Chip that I called the Straddled Triple Option, where we ran an Inside Zone one direction, and a Speed Double-Option the other direction. In this version the running back can run to either A-Gap, as you noted. I loved this play and GREAT to see it back! -

See What Utah will be Wearing on Saturday
Charles Fischer replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Oh good! For once someone else is wearing hideously ugly grey uniforms! Won't be hard to look sharp next to that! We lost both games BTW... -

It was one Bad game Oregon Basketball Fans
Charles Fischer replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
During the first half....I was tempted to borrow a phrase from Ernie and shout, "MOVE!" The offense was stagnant with too much one-on-one. -
I don't agree with this. He does not have breakaway speed, nor the length; he has great separation skills and is a dependable (usually) receiver for third down. He is not as great as he thinks, IMHO. And KingT...welcome to the forum!

Why Oregon Has the Edge Over Utah
Charles Fischer replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Thank you Steven A. as that is a GREAT article! -
I wrote some great things about him in the early part of my Monday article, and featured him throughout the analysis. Glad to see his recognition, and glad to see that Cristobal saw his upside and recruited the JC transfer.

Unbelievable. I hope this motivates the team as it appears that NONE of the goodwill created by beating Ohio State for the first EVER resides with the powers-that-be. They would tell me to cheer up, as their odds for us have doubled in the last week from 3% to 7%! The official table of odds is right here....
