  1. C'mon everybody....FOCUS!
  2. I don't think this was a question of choosing between the two, but among all the other candidates out there...who would you want if Cristobal left to go back to Florida?
  3. Haywarduck...I don't how you find such great ones, because as I know--it is not always easy to find the right one for the topic. That is a keeper! Getting close to dinner time!
  4. My friends...don't forget to pass along the forum today--especially the Cat GIF History of Beaver Football Coaches! Everyone loves to have a laugh...
  5. I think it is brilliant, and the best candidate out there. He has a history with Oregon!
  6. The "Great Pumpkin," Dee Andros (1965-75 below) handled the Ducks well, but had other issues... Oregon State was too big a jump for Craig Fertig. (1976-79 below) Joe Avezzano's (1980-84 below) players didn't have their heart in it. Dave Kragthorpe, (1985-90 below) thought he could stand up to the Ducks... Jerry Pettibone, (1991-96 below) believed he could compete at upper levels... Mike Riley, (1997-98, 2003-2014) often took the bait. (Below) Dennis Erickson, (1999-2002 below) didn't keep an eye on things that came back to bite him. Gary Anderson, (2015-17 below) just could not wear orange and disappeared. Jonathan Smith, (2018-Present, below) is proving to be pretty clever... Let's play smarter! Go Ducks! (Share this with your friends, and on Social Media so Duck fans learn about this extraordinary forum!)
  7. And we are thankful for all the hours you put into analyses for us to learn from and your expertise. It is always fun to learn more football from Coach Boles!
  8. It is going to be so fun to follow his career for YEARS!

  9. C'mon...this is fun, the stuff of LIFE!
  10. Dale is a great writer and really brings some tasty good news and targets for the Oregon staff. We need some good news! Oregon Recruiting Wrap: Moves, Countermoves and Amazing Athletic Feats by Dale Newton of Duck Sports Authority The Ducks made an offer Tuesday to 5-10, 175 athlete/wide receiver Isaiah Bond, who just decommitted from Florida. Bond runs a scorching fast 10.48 100 meters. (Nick Lucero/Rivals.com)
  11. I thought this was one of the best collections of talent Altman's staff had ever recruited...and shooting woes is not something I expected!
  12. I love this, to get the best talent on the field, give him experience and confidence--another Byron Marshall!
  13. I am posting this to 1) Bump this up closer to the top in order to be sure people remember it today and... 2) to let everyone know that a Special Humor article about the Beavers will be up tomorrow! My thanks to Duckpop22 for it, and it is the kind of article that makes you smile and hum along with it! Gotta have some fun...
  14. I can't use the green helmets as an avatar until we win a game in them!
  15. That is a very big deal! Thanks for posting it.
  16. Joe Moorhead is like Helfrich; great offensive mind, but an introvert. He would NOT do well recruiting, IMHO.
  17. MM2....you are new and it is nice to see you share your thoughts a couple of times. Do post often and WELCOME!
  18. I apologize, as I have been detained doing other things the last couple of hours and missed this. Yes, taking a personal shot at player or coaches is not allowed on the forum (Rule No. 26) although being critical of player performance and coaching decisions is fine, as that is what a forum is for. We just have to keep it from getting personal. MaiTai is a good guy who I know, and he is a great fan and has strong feelings (look who is talking!) as we all do. He forgot momentarily as we all might on occasion, and I went in and edited his post. Thank you DUCKED for pointing it out as I do want all opinions, but we cannot engage in personal attacks, or attach denigrating labels to people. Anthony Brown is just like all of us at times,....great at some things, not so at others. In the future? Everybody...you can "report" a post for us to look at for moderation and it is easily done in a few clicks. Directions are right here! In fact, directions for posting and doing anything are right here, and at the top of the forum below the logo. It just takes a few minutes to learn something and seconds to actually do it!
  19. What makes this forum unique is the moderation, and it is not hard. If you can read posts and click, (which is what we are all doing anyway) you can help out with moderating. Do email me charles@fishduck.com and let's see if we can work something out to help everyone else on this site. And thanks to everyone above for the kind words, and most of all--thanks to the Moderators! 30Duck Haywarduck Steven A. smith72 We do need more to give them a break, so jump in and do your part! Charles
  20. Boy, I don't know about this one either--your thoughts? ESPN FPI Predictions: Oregon Ducks Favored to Win Pac-12 North, but Projected to Lose Pac-12 Championship by Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire
  21. Thank you, and I am proud of them and they have been viewed over two-million times, but all the ad revenue went the Pac-12, since they own the rights to the telecast footage. I will do an analysis article like this once in a while, but making videos is unbelievably time-consuming, and I just don't have the time these days. (I get a lot of new people that sign up that none of you ever see because they don't believe we have rules, and enforce them and their first post is just horrible. So I have to spend time with emails and phone calls to end up with them leaving anyway. Too much time babysitting adults!)
  22. Fentress is right that many former Oregon teams would boat-race this one. And I've enjoyed many of his takes in the past, but when he tells me as a Duck fan to "Chill-out," and calls me "Spoiled?" That comes off as a condescending jerk. (And yes...the rule No. 26 refers to Oregon players and coaches. Say what you want about other teams, their fans, their coaches and members of the media.)
  23. Well, they hated me three years ago when I began telling them that "unless there are dramatic changes--Cristobal will not take us to the promised land," and now that has been proven true--they hate me because I was right. But on the good side--my experiences over the last 24 years on eDuck, 247, DSA and ScoopDuck have really taught me what NOT to do, and how I need to protect the minority view on a topic and not allow their voices to be intimidated or bullied into silence. I believe strongly that the best combination of sites? Subscribe to 247 and ScoopDuck, and then come over here to discuss it all! That way you have the information AND you have the safety to discuss it without someone maligning you for simply a different viewpoint. I also think that half the people at both locations would join us here, as there are so many great Duck fans at those sites who are disgusted with the nonsense and would join us if they knew of the OBD forum. PM your friends over there and let them know. Get the best of both worlds; information over there, and great, safe discussion over here! And thank you Dukduponquak!
  24. I am trying to figure out whether it is a good-or-good decision, or a bad-or-bad one!
  25. Boy....to me he is highly undersized for the NFL, and does not have the breakaway speed for the next level. I understand his superb skills as a pass receiver, but I see good skills, but not elite skills needed for the next level. But then--what do I know? I thought Justin Herbert would have a journeyman career like Kellen Clemens in the NFL!
