  1. I did not have time to listen to the Podcast, but regardless of your views--we do not "Throw Group-Shade" upon those who disagree with us. This is pretty mild, but it inhibits people from posting nonetheless. See No. 2a and No. 2b of our rules. The objective of this forum is to see all the opinions of the very savvy group assembled here. That can only happen if everyone feels safe to post, and thus behaviors that discourage or inhibit posting of a viewpoint different from yours are prohibited. State your opinion, they state theirs and we all view them and decide for ourselves. We do not cast aspersions upon those who disagree with us, and "Throwing Group-Shade" is one of the more subtle methods of making people reluctant to post. If the other sites allow it? That is your first clue that we don't here. This really is not directed so much at the good people in this thread that made a mistake, but to use it as a way of educating people on what our objectives here are and how we achieve them. Email me for more information and do read what I referred to above. charles@fishduck.com Some would say this is over-the-top, but that is what it takes to create and retain an extraordinary place to gather and safely discuss Our Beloved Ducks.
  2. I felt he would not come to USC, and would stay in his comfortable gig. One big name gone... Announcement: Contract Terms:
  3. Ha-Ha. The Fact-Checker gets Fact-Checked! Now you did not distinguish between "next job" and "all jobs," but the debate is not worth any more of our time. I get the point...

  5. This is not new, as it has been brewing with the Mississippi native for a long time. The positive spin? When he committed to Oregon--he was unranked and pulled our team rankings down. But his status skyrocketed over the season and this demonstrates that the Duck coaches know how to identify upside before everyone else does. Top JUCO OT Percy Lewis Decommits from Oregon by Jared Mack of Duck Territory 247 Not! (BTW...5-Star Tackle Kelvin Banks is still solid to Oregon!)

  7. This actually could help keep a couple of them around after the season?
  8. Holy Crap! I just got this email as a season ticket holder from the Athletic Department and wanted to share it pronto with you. Charles ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Oregon Health Authority has rescinded the outdoor mask mandate that all guests ages 5 and over must wear face coverings. While the mask mandate remains in effect for all indoor spaces in Oregon Athletics venues, they are now recommended rather than required for outdoor spaces throughout Autzen Stadium, per OHA and the University of Oregon Incident Management Team. The following is a reminder of the additional public health guidelines that remain in place for Saturday’s game: Vaccination Policy: All fans 12 or older attending games must show proof of vaccination, including a CDC-issued Vaccination Record Card (or photo), and corresponding identification, for entry. Documentation of a negative test taken within three days of the event will also be accepted, and the following link from the UO Incident Management Team details how to meet this requirement: https://coronavirus.uoregon.edu/vaccination-university-events Pre-Game/Stadium Entry: Fans are encouraged to arrive early once again this Saturday, and gates will open two hours before kickoff, at 10:30 a.m. The clear bag policy remains in effect. Mobile Ticketing: To enhance safety, physical event tickets are no longer in use, and fans can utilize the ease and convenience of mobile ticketing via the GoDucks Gameday App presented by Pepsi. For those who do not have the app, you can download it here. Step-by-step instructions and a how-to video can be found goducks.com/mobiletickets As stated above, parking lots will be open four hours before kickoff (8:30 a.m.), and the Moshofsky Center will once again be closed to fans this Saturday. There will be no post-game field access for fans. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My friends, if you still wish to go--there are discounted tickets available. Go to the top of the home page of this site and look for the green pinned topic at the top concerning tickets. Charles
  9. What is the difference between "Culture" and "Agriculture?" About 40 miles....
  10. I thought it was a classic "ponder-point" that I like to kick around...the "what-if" kind of thing. I was hoping people would spend more time discussing this topic instead of delving into all the negative of the game. Oh well. I tried to distract them! And MikeJ...it is a wonderful sight to have a new member who writes great thoughts, writes them well AND adds reading spaces after every couple of sentences to make it easier on old-eyes. Please do post your thoughts often and WELCOME!
  11. Rich Brooks brought Kentucky out of a terrible state into at least a competitive state at 8-5 and they revere him there. (And BTW....I too hate "Fact-Checkers!") 😆
  12. Blowcheese, I think you have written some great posts, but I also know you are a Beaver fan, hence the logo placed in your avatar. You may want to skip this site this week, as stuff that will be published later may not be to your liking. We are not trying to please any visitors from other schools, but just serve Oregon fans here. You seem reasonable, thus why I thought I would give a "heads-up." And if the Beavers win--we congratulate them, but I do not want to see any rubbing the salt on the wound here. Conversely--I/we do not go to Beaver sites and rub salt in the years that we win.
  13. Wood Duck! You are new, and I love how you are offering your thoughts on many topics out of the gate. Please continue to, and I REALLY LOVE the profile picture (avatar) you uploaded. Stunning. WELCOME!
  14. Ragnar....this is an epic first post. GREAT information and items to ponder. Please post often, as well-thought out and well written posts are so highly valued here. WELCOME!
  15. Agreed. He is creating drama, and the team under Cristobal can go much, much higher in the future. (and yes...that is dependent on his growth) But stating, "this is it" is insulting to me.
  16. David....this is a really, really good point. Thanks for your analysis as always...
  17. So....things are too complex in the college game to add learning mechanics to it, but he can learn them AND the much higher complexities of the NFL? Not throwing shade at you, but it does raise questions about QB coaching.
  18. I am simply stunned at the four big-men playing for Dana Altman at 6'11" or taller. And they all have talent, and we are seeing more of it already. Frank Kepnang: Still raw offensive skills, but has developed a few shots in close and provide a little closer-high-percentage baskets in the paint. I love his passion for rebounding and motivating the team. Nice rim protector on defense as it seems he is getting more blocks and contested shots now than last year. Nathan Bittle: The Oregon star show really fluid movement for a 7-footer, and flashed some good passing and shot-blocking. Fun to watch his growth! Isaac Johnson: The biggest surprise in this last game as he did a sweet no-look pass to set up a teammate for a lay-up....while running a fast break! Smooth inside moves near the basket, and the upside is apparent. N'Faly Donte': Hasn't played much, but boy the talent just oozes. He makes it look easy at times, and then you remember he is 6'11"! I am NOT a basketball expert, but just a passionate fan and would love your thoughts. We have NEVER had this many talented posts where the upside on all four is TALL!
  19. I was surprised in the telecast last night to hear of how Dana Altman had been interviewed and asked about how his teams always improve significantly in February and take a jump in production in the last half of the season. He explained that he teaches the same concepts throughout, but it takes that long for each team to "buy-into" what he is coaching, and when they decide as a group to embrace it? Things improve and take off. He said this team has a lot of talent, but he is waiting for them to buy-in this year as they do in other years. So--the reason for the late blooming is the players believing in Dana--wow.

  22. Jon Wilner (below) is suggesting it. I find it stunning, since whatever Cristobal has in Eugene is what HE CREATES! *** Oregon Coach: Mario Cristobal State of play: The magnitude of the loss in Salt Lake City cannot be understated — and we’re not talking about the margin of defeat, folks. That was a trajectory-changing, tenure-altering result, one that could very well make Cristobal reconsider his future in Eugene and his options elsewhere. What’s next: In our estimation, the likelihood of Cristobal leaving has increased substantially, for two reasons: 1) The loss at Utah will undoubtedly make him question the ceiling in Eugene; 2) The options in his home state. Florida just fired Dan Mullen, and Miami, his alma mater, dismissed its athletic director — the presumed first step toward the firing of coach Manny Diaz. Combine those developments with the shellacking in Salt Lake City, and Cristobal could cast an eye homeward. Chance of vacancy: 35%
