Whoa Baby! Some GREAT stuff in the article below and contained within that article is a link to the reference in the title. My FishDuck Friends....this is going to be a TASTY Off-Season! Five Reasons I Believe the Dan Lanning Hire Will Prove a Great One by Erik Skopil of Duck Territory, 247

Ducks Former Oregon Ducks who Sent Letter
Fantastic observation that had earthquake impact upon Oregon. Those two guys from the SE proved you can recruit to Oregon, and may have been a big factor in attracting Lanning. Our forum is better when Mike West is posting often!

Ducks Former Oregon Ducks who Sent Letter
Annie...THANK YOU for posting this, and I do encourage everyone to search for and post articles here for the benefit of the community. THANKS AGAIN!

Bizarre: Former Players Wanted Justin Wilcox Hired
I completely agree; whether we like him or not...he often makes observations that others miss, and digs out stuff nobody else does. I just sort through his articles for the good stuff versus the nonsense.

Recruiting Getting Hurt?
I completely agree with this; let's say we lose eight total recruits...I am confident that Lanning can mine half of that number out of the portal and the damage won't be that bad. A good trade in my view, to make a new start!

Analysis: Is Dan Lanning an Upgrade from Mario Cristobal?
You created SUCH a perfect description of Mario's Offense....it MUST remain somewhere in the annals of Oregon football history!

Amen, and well written. I so agree...

Analysis: Is Dan Lanning an Upgrade from Mario Cristobal?
There is a big difference between making-the-sale, and then delivering. I never said he delivered, and in fact I have an article or two coming up about that. What I meant to say is he sold us fans, the media, and Rob Mullens on one product...and produced another. The point is that he was very good at selling what we wanted to hear. And he did it so well, as we were all conned by his skills. THAT is superb sales skills and PR poise in front of the cameras, IMHO.

Great Article! Coach Dan Lanning Arrives in Eugene: "I Feel Like the Luckiest Man on Earth"
I feel like the luckiest man on Earth," Lanning told the team. "I chose this place. And I'm lucky enough it chose me back." APPRECIATIVE OF HIS OPPORTUNITY, LANNING READY TO GET TO WORK by Rob Moseley of GoDucks.com Lanning, who has helped make Georgia's defense arguably the best unit in all of college football the past three years, told the Ducks they will play "championship-level defense … but that doesn't mean we aren't going to air it out on offense."

Thank you Justin
Ah yes...it is in another thread and has been up.

Dexter New Blood: Any Fans?
Just to divert for a post from the saga of Oregon football...any fans of Dexter? I loved the series before, and I'm enjoying the new one released nearly a decade later. Take a "stab" at what you think!

Thank you Justin
In the bigger picture? I am stunned at the judgement of Mullens to think that Wilcox will take us to the promised land. To me--Lanning is so much a better candidate for our goals, that I cannot wrap my head around what Rob was thinking. That scares me, but apparently he did come to his senses. Wowsa.

Bizarre: Former Players Wanted Justin Wilcox Hired
They wrote a letter (Including Marcus Mariota) led by Joey Harrington, and when they wrote of bringing back what made Oregon great...I thought it was the loss of our brand on offense. Nope! The letter is at the bottom of this article, and perhaps all of you can 'splain it to me? Guys, did we just hire...
As I wrote....I understand it was humor, and you did not break any rules. But what I've learned in the short 2.5 months of the forum already, is that people will take something and run further with it. And I simply wanted to remind everyone that being critical, negative and even humorous is fine. Just not nasty-personal is all. In fact yesterday yours-truly posted a humorous set of pictures about Lanning too. So, no it was not a violation, but a reminder to everyone else not to escalate it into something personal against our new coach.

The Big Question: Who's Going to Make the Offense go at Oregon?
OK, there are exaggerations, and then there is over-the-top! I don't think any choice of OC by Lanning is going to have us wistful for the days of the "Pistol-Plunge." But I understand your concern, and appreciate you bringing your views to us. I do want to see them all! (Only not over-and-over-and-over-and-over as some of us are prone to do.)

Canzano: Place Your Bets on the New Pac-12 Coaches
You don't like the hire. I think we got it.

Men's Basketball: Oregon at Stanford, 4:00 PT, Pac-12 Network
Way to go! Beat me to it....and here is some tasty tidbits from the media guide. --Since N'Faly Donte rejoined the team--he is shooting over 70% from the field! --Frank Kepnang shot over 70% in this last game, and what appears to be a break-out one for him offensively. Beat the 'Furd!

Guys, did we just hire...
Everyone....please remember that Rule No. 26 right here states that we can criticize a coach for decisions, for player performance....we can go crazy-negative about their job, but we do NOT get personal about them. I know this is a joke, (above) but for those who disagree with this hire--I wanted to remind you of this.

The Big Question: Who's Going to Make the Offense go at Oregon?
C'mon guys....you are skeptical about a guy who had a massive scoring offense at Memphis, and who as Auburn OC put the most points (48) on a Nick Saban defense ever. Being thrown in the Florida State dumpster fire would take anyone a while to rebuild.
