  1. We have a double-header Sunday starting at 9:00 AM PST on B1G+, and yours-truly will be all over it. Time for Breakfast Baseball, Baby!
  2. The Pride-of-Portland, Ryan Cooney gets Oregon ahead for good!
  3. Ducks win 5-4 with a comeback in the ninth! Maryland was tough as they hit their way back and took a 4-3 lead at the end of eight innings, but Oregon fought through with great at-bats to score two runs in the ninth, and then Oregon Reliever Seth Mattox came in to close out the Terps 1-2-3! Whew! My apologies for not posting the score at end of eight, but the whole thing got me rattled, and I had to take an extended restroom break. Talk about PUCKER-TIME! Drew Smith continues his hot hitting...
  4. 3-3 after seven innings. Let's GO DUCKS!
  5. 3-2 Ducks after six innings. Grinsell gave up a homer to Maryland, and we gotta get the Oregon bats going!
  6. 3-1 Ducks after five innings. Maryland has shown great plate discipline and getting walks out of Grinsell, but Oregon has left Terp runners stranded!
  7. 3-1 Ducks after four innings. Drew Smith was injured in the first part of this year, and in the past had played third base and second base. Today he is in Right Field, and hit his second home run in the past two games. Good to have some more muscle in the lineup!
  8. 2-1 Ducks after three innings. Dominic Hellman got an RBI on a double...when in a full-count! You GOT to see this sweet pick-off move at second base below by Grayson Grinsell and Ryan Cooney!
  9. 0-0 after two innings. One thing about TV versus live streaming is that you can really see the movement of the pitches better. Damn...Oregon's Grayson Grinsell has some of those pitches cooking...
  10. It could reverse on us...as Tennessee might be interested in whoever is the No. 2 QB at Oregon after the Spring Game...
  11. The opposite of what Lanning wants to build...
  12. “Whether they (New Pac-12) get $10 million a school or $12 million, they are so far behind the (Power) leagues that it’s all on the margins,” an industry source said. Put another way: Even the high end of the projected revenue range won’t provide Pac-12 schools with the resources needed to compete with the ACC, Big 12, Big Ten or SEC; nor will it create a material advantage over the American. Beavis is in a tough spot...
  13. Game summary at the end of the thread later! --------------------------------------------------------------------- Due to weather conditions, game one of Oregon’s series at Maryland scheduled for 3 p.m. (PT) today in College Park, Md., has been postponed and will now be played as part of a doubleheader on Sunday. Saturday’s game against the Terrapins is unaffected and will be played tomorrow with a 1:02 p.m. (PT) first pitch on the Big Ten Network. Sunday’s doubleheader will start at 9:02 a.m. (PT) with game two of the double dip beginning at approximately 1 p.m. (PT). Upcoming Oregon Ducks Baseball Schedule Today – at Maryland (Postponed) Saturday – at Maryland (1:02 p.m. PT/Big Ten Network) Sunday (DH) – at Maryland (9:02 a.m. PT/B1G+) Monday – at Georgetown (8:06 a.m. PT/CBS Sports Network) On TV Monday morning too!
  14. Yep, we clearly had more balance in the Pac-12 at that time, and you had to be ready every week. So many of our B1G games...our opponent did not have a chance. It is a top-heavy conference, and I am glad to be in the top of it.
  15. I am over it, as I like the prestige of a Super-Conference that we are doing pretty well in. If we had saved the Pac-12? We would be BURIED right now, and I doubt that we would still have Lanning, etc. as what materialized--turned into a much worse situation for the "have-nots" than I could have imagined. The time-zone thing is REAL... Don't Believe Me? Ask Beavis...
  16. Right. We had a thread about it a week ago...
  17. Agreed. As Jon Joseph explained to me about why Cal and Stanford were NOT invited the B1G...."they would not be accretive to the conference." Would their revenues add to the revenue share each B1G school was getting, or would everyone's revenue share drop because of the addition of the Bay Area schools? It is the latter, hence why the ACC got a sweetheart deal in taking them. Thus the Coug-Its and Beavis have nothing to offer a Power-4 conference....
  18. An article by John Canzano reminded me of how incredible the final season (2023) of the Pac-12 was with quarterbacks. Bo Nix, Oregon, picked in first round by Denver. Michael Penix, Washington, picked in the first round by Atlanta. Caleb Williams, USC, picked in the first round by Chicago. Cam Ward, Washington State, about to be picked as No. 1 pick in 2025 Draft. Noah Fifita, Arizona Shedeur Sanders, Colorado, about to highly picked in 2025 Draft. Fernando Mendoza, Cal. DJ Uiagalelei, Oregon State Every week was tough on defensive backs...whew!
  19. With that many LA fans...UCLA should be filling their 100K Rose Bowl, as other B1G teams are. But effectively they were acquired "low," and have a ton of upside. If either or both become good again--the numbers with their games with OBD should be superb. Indiana? I still cannot get over how Indiana has more living alumni than Ohio State or Michigan? Boy the B1G is huge, and has much more upside remaining! And it suggests that our home game versus the Hoosiers could be sold out! And they traveled really well to UCLA last year...
  20. What? No SEC teams? Denver? Western Michigan? For those of us in the west--who knew?
  21. The most stunning statistic in that article are the teams with the most most living alumni. I would assume Michigan and Ohio State, but to see the top one is Indiana? And to see that UCLA is one of the top ones as well, means they are highly under utilizing their fan base.
  22. I actually gave some notes to Rich Brooks at Oregon Club about how the research at that time showed that the color pink would drain energy, and this was quite a deliberate tactic to help their home field advantage. My understanding, is that Oregon took poster and construction paper, and managers taped it up in the locker room when they got there. You’re welcome!
  23. This game SHOUTS a tough-gritty-lucky-to-win-like-Wisconsin kind of game. We will have shoot-out in September with Penn State, but this Iowa game in November? NOT Good...
  24. I received a text yesterday from a very loyal Oregon fan who told me that he saw in Instagram that Oregon State is now going to the Big-12? I started thinking about all the ramifications, of all the Pac-12 money going to the Cougars, how Beavis would drop all their work done when a good offer came their way? (Just like Oregon, who they condemn?) Then I did a Google Search; nothing came up. I checked with one of the largest Oregon State messages boards....nothing. But I did learn that SEVEN players of the Beaver Mens Basketball team are in the portal, and word was--the women in Corvallis are leaving their team as well, and leaving HC Scott Rueck in a tough spot? Holy Crap! Then I checked on that, and found that EIGHT members of the OSU Womens Team are transferring out! So Beavis, do you believe in KARMA, NOW? (Good gosh, I enjoy being brutal on Beavis....)
  25. Jon gives us a ton to ponder about Iowa, and I agree with 30Duck-this is going be a very tough away game.
