Oregon Tortures Trojans with a 5-3 Win, and a SWEEP!
5-3 Ducks after eight innings! I've been holding my breath with Ryan Featherston pitching, but he got three fly-balls to go 1-2-3 and now on to the ninth! Ryan Featherston

Oregon Tortures Trojans with a 5-3 Win, and a SWEEP!
5-3 Ducks at the end of the seventh inning. Some great hitting by Oregon's Jacob Walsh and Maddox Molony, and Meckna was replaced by transfer Julian Hernandez on the mound. Then, Ryan Featherston was brought in the two outs and bases-loaded and got the fly-ball out to save the inning. Whew!

Oregon Tortures Trojans with a 5-3 Win, and a SWEEP!
3-3 after six innings. Damn...it was going so well, and then the Trojans hit a two-run homer off Sanford. He was replaced by true freshman Michael Meckna, but damage was done. Let's go Ducks!

Oregon Tortures Trojans with a 5-3 Win, and a SWEEP!
3-0 Ducks after five innings. Coach Waz stated in the pregame interview that the Trojans have some very good relievers, and we are seeing that as the Ducks are having a hard time cracking them. But Sanford went 1-2-3 again, and I wonder what Oregon's pitching coach, Hawk, is going to do. Sanford's pitch count is at 84, but he is looking good. How built up is his arm? Take a chance with him keeping it going or with the bullpen? Will Sanford last week...

Oregon Tortures Trojans with a 5-3 Win, and a SWEEP!
3-0 Ducks after four innings, as Oregon starter on the hill, Will Sanford, continues to befuddle the USC batters. His pitch count is high, but I expect to see him out there for the fifth inning. I love how Oregon implemented two sacrifice flies to move and score!

Oregon Tortures Trojans with a 5-3 Win, and a SWEEP!
2-0 Ducks after three innings. Sanford continues to get strikeouts for Oregon, while USC replaced their starter, and is on their second reliever already.

Oregon Tortures Trojans with a 5-3 Win, and a SWEEP!
Game summary will be at the end of the thread later! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Today is a big day for Oregon's true freshman pitcher Will Sanford, as he is now an official weekend starter for the B1G conference season. He has been impressive thus far with a low 2.19 ERA, and both Coach Waz and the players say that we have not yet seen his best stuff. The opposing USC pitcher has an ERA over 6.00, but you know how Baseball is; he could have a lights-out day, while the freshman gets the jitters--who knows? But it is a big test as he has edged out Jason Reitz as the No. 3 pitcher for the moment, and this is his chance to show everyone that he belongs against a good conference foe. (Reitz was fantastic on Friday in relief with four scoreless innings) Let's Go Ducks!

Bittle's Career Day Powers Oregon over Washington 80-73 in OT
It doesn't matter how many wins we have or they have...beating the Huskies in any sport is sweet. Go Ducks!

Can We Chat About the QB Position at Oregon?
I have no idea, and I've decided that it is part of the entertainment. I am quite surprised that nobody has transferred out thus far, as all have shown they can play with spurts of action in the Spring Game last year. Add to these complications of QBs brought in for 2025, and the prospect of receiving an experienced transfer QB every year....I have no idea how the coaches manage it.

Trojans Torqued, as No. 10 Oregon Wins Game Two 8-6, and the Series!
Ducks Hold off Trojans to Clinch Series Irvine, Calif. — No. 10 Oregon built a big early lead against USC and then held on for an 8-6 Big Ten Conference win at Great Park on Saturday afternoon. The Ducks (13-2, 2-0 Big Ten) clinched the series win and will look for the sweep against USC (9-5, 0-2 Big Ten) on Sunday. The Ducks scored eight runs in the first five innings to build an 8-0 lead but couldn’t muster any offense over the final four innings. USC rallied with four runs in its half of the fifth inning and tacked on two more in the seventh to make things interesting late. Oregon relievers Santiago Garcia and Cole Stokes combined to toss the final three innings. The two fanned eight Trojan hitters. Stokes relieved Garcia with a runner on, who reached on an error, and one out in the bottom of the eighth. Stokes allowed a single before a sacrifice bunt put the tying run at second. After a walk loaded the bases, Stokes got a ground ball to the right side that second baseman Ryan Cooney made a sliding stop before spinning and throwing to first to leave the bases loaded and end the inning. Stokes fanned the first two batters he faced in the ninth before a pair of walks brought the winning run to the plate. Stokes then struck out Kade Higgins to end the game. Starter Collin Clarke How It Happened: Oregon jumped out early on the Trojans for the second consecutive day. After Anson Aroz reached on an error and moved to second on a passed ball, Maddox Molony gave UO the lead with a single to left scoring Aroz. It did not stay a one-run game for long. After a one-out single by Mason Neville, Dominic Hellman clubbed a two-run home run over the left-field fence for a 3-0 lead. Oregon continued to put pressure on USC putting five runs on the board in the fifth. Neville led off the inning with a walk and moved to second on a Hellman base hit up the middle before scoring on a Jacob Walsh double. Aroz followed with a two-run double up the first-base line scoring Hellman and Walsh, before scoring himself on a Jeffery Heard single. Burke-Lee Mabeus capped the scoring when he trotted home on a Cooney sacrifice fly. Box Score Notes: Oregon has won 10 straight games for the first time since May 19-June 9, 2023 … Walsh’s third inning hit was the 200th of his career … Hellman’s home run was his sixth in Oregon’s last six games … Santiago picked up his first career win (2.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 5 K) … Stokes got his first career save (1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 3 K). On Deck: Oregon will look for the series sweep on Sunday. First pitch is at 12:02 p.m. at Great Park in Irvine.

Ducks Softball (21-1) Downs No. 8 Florida State 2-0!
Oregon has always had good hitting and good fielding, but Lombardi built those great Sooner programs around a fantastic pitcher. Grein is 12-0, and it would appear that the Coach finally has the final piece to the program.

1.000 to 1,500 which is not bad considering the circumstances. A TON of GREEN in the audience, and you can hear them on the great Duck plays.

Trojans Torqued, as No. 10 Oregon Wins Game Two 8-6, and the Series!
8-4 Ducks after six innings. Santiago Garcia, a transfer pitcher from JC power Central Arizona CC, is a lefty with a nasty fastball and struck the last two out in the inning after the departure of Maddox. With all the pitchers Oregon has, if Coach Hawk (pitching coach) is not sold on what he sees--he pulls the hook right away.

Trojans Torqued, as No. 10 Oregon Wins Game Two 8-6, and the Series!
8-4 Ducks after five innings, as Oregon got to the USC starter and put him out. But Trojan hitters got to Clarke, and thus we have a much closer game now. Seth Maddox, the transfer reliever from California Baptist is trying to hold USC off...

Game summary is at the bottom of the thread! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1-0 Ducks after two innings! The Trojans have a very good starting pitcher today who has a low ERA of only 2.70 and thus the Duck batters have their hands full. The "Pride of Springfield," Maddox Molony scored Anson Aroz who was jetting from second base. Superb base-running to score the first run! Starting Oregon pitcher Collin Clarke is off to a great start keeping USC quiet thus far.
