  1. There will be tons of negative next time, sure, but the feedback I've been getting is confusion. I don't want to discourage posting of any type, as I want to see all opinions--so we let everyone post everything, (provided they are nice to each other) and I'll let the few who go overboard know in private. I made a BIG MISTAKE discussing a couple of specific cases in public in the forum recently, and I needed to quickly reverse course and not restrain people. Not what I intended on this one...
  2. Whew! Powerful stuff in my world, so concise and true..
  3. My friends, there has been a lot of confusion about writing negative and what venting is? Forget about all of it--WRITING NEGATIVE is fine, as that is what we do here! We discuss player performance and coaching decisions, and it is negative a good bit of the time. Belay which? I don't know WHAT to do! As long as you follow our rules of being nice to each other? You are fine. Now if anyone goes beyond and is venting? I'll let them know in private, and I'll be nice about it! (Nothing in public again!) Some members here have been reluctant to post because, "well it is negative and I don't want to violate the rules." This is my fault, as the difference between writing negative and venting is not clear, so I want to let you all know to not worry about the degrees or gradations. Just--go for it! No More Decisions...Negative is Fine? Whew! It'll be good to move again!
  4. No details on what he is being paid and the source of the additional funding. Perhaps that will come out later... (And THANKS for posting this deschutesduck!)
  5. And that Coach of the Aztecs is one of the great coaching mysteries ever....Brady Hoke. Terrible DC, but failed upward!
  6. I've seen quite a few of these articles, and today had one in the Eugene R-G by Don Kahle, who usually writes a bunch of fluffy nonsense. But he proposed a bunch of new name candidates, and the vast majority matched the level of his typical missives, but a few caught my eye. I would love your thoughts and suggestions as well. The Oregon Classic (This is what it was known as prior to 1937, and should be considered a leading candidate?) The Platypus Bowl The Platypus Cup (This is my second favorite) War for the Willamette Willamette War (This is my favorite as it is short--has our violence embedded and has a bit a alliteration.) Willamette River Rivalry Oregon War The Oregon Bowl Boss of the Moss RainBowl The Reign in the Rain Turf War Slugfest Thoughts?
  7. Good to see some progress, and now to check out an OLB, who has been injured most of the season. Linebacker Keith Brown Out, TE DJ Johnson Questionable for Oregon State by Graham Metzker of Ducks Digest
  8. Hello My OBD Forum Friends! Lets get these predictions started and remember I look for the spread with then the closest score that has the spread correct. The data I need from you is: (entries without all the information are invalid, and predictions on other threads don't count as I am not going to hunt them all down) --the winner --the score, and the tiebreaker information needed from each of you is... --the amount of turnovers Oregon creates --the number of sacks Oregon records on the opposing team --the number of passing yards. My guess is: Oregon 34-31, 1, 2, 240
  9. This is a good article, but I would add that the Tight Ends of Oregon State are from in-state and are excellent. On offense, the Beavers do not have a weakness like the Ducks. Beaver Offense will Present a Multi-Faceted Attack Against the Ducks by Don Smalley of Ducks Wire
  10. I like their analysis and game predictions the best, and this one gives me some comfort! Oregon State vs. Oregon Football Prediction and Preview by John Coon of Athlon Sports
  11. Humor-writer Kim Hastings made an encore article for us to have some fun pondering our rival, Oregon State. Enjoy! The 12 Days of Beavis by Kim Hastings of FishDuck
  12. I don't think this was a question of choosing between the two, but among all the other candidates out there...who would you want if Cristobal left to go back to Florida?
  13. Haywarduck...I don't how you find such great ones, because as I know--it is not always easy to find the right one for the topic. That is a keeper! Getting close to dinner time!
  14. My friends...don't forget to pass along the forum today--especially the Cat GIF History of Beaver Football Coaches! Everyone loves to have a laugh...
  15. I think it is brilliant, and the best candidate out there. He has a history with Oregon!
  16. The "Great Pumpkin," Dee Andros (1965-75 below) handled the Ducks well, but had other issues... Oregon State was too big a jump for Craig Fertig. (1976-79 below) Joe Avezzano's (1980-84 below) players didn't have their heart in it. Dave Kragthorpe, (1985-90 below) thought he could stand up to the Ducks... Jerry Pettibone, (1991-96 below) believed he could compete at upper levels... Mike Riley, (1997-98, 2003-2014) often took the bait. (Below) Dennis Erickson, (1999-2002 below) didn't keep an eye on things that came back to bite him. Gary Anderson, (2015-17 below) just could not wear orange and disappeared. Jonathan Smith, (2018-Present, below) is proving to be pretty clever... Let's play smarter! Go Ducks! (Share this with your friends, and on Social Media so Duck fans learn about this extraordinary forum!)
  17. And we are thankful for all the hours you put into analyses for us to learn from and your expertise. It is always fun to learn more football from Coach Boles!
  18. It is going to be so fun to follow his career for YEARS!
  19. Dale is a great writer and really brings some tasty good news and targets for the Oregon staff. We need some good news! Oregon Recruiting Wrap: Moves, Countermoves and Amazing Athletic Feats by Dale Newton of Duck Sports Authority The Ducks made an offer Tuesday to 5-10, 175 athlete/wide receiver Isaiah Bond, who just decommitted from Florida. Bond runs a scorching fast 10.48 100 meters. (Nick Lucero/Rivals.com)
