The Winner of the Penn State vs. Notre Dame Prediction Contest is...
NITS 35-14 1 TO 4 sacks 275 passing OT: ND caught Georgia Tech + Georgia without their starting QB. Played 4 G5 teams and the Irish's usual ACC suspects. Gave up 500+ yards vs USC. Although, PSU also struggled at SC. Look at the post-season to date. The B1G is kicking booty (sometimes against brother B1Gs 😧) and PSU has played a tougher schedule than the Domers. Let's Go NITS!

The B1G Commish Tony Petitti Playoff
SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey is the man in front of the camera. Our B1G Commissioner speaks softly but carries a B1G Stick. Using the ultimate PO committee rankings, this is what Tony P's 14-team PO field would have been in 2024-25. This or something akin will be the PO format in 2026-27. 1. OREGON - Bye 9. Boise State at 8. Indiana 13. Miami at 4. Penn State 12. Arizona State at 5. Notre Dame ----------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Georgia - Bye 10. SMU at 7. Tennessee 14. Clemson (Kiff 1st out 😁) at 3. Texas 11. Alabama (stop the whining) at 6. Ohio State Not in the Petitti plan but what should be the format, Oregon plays the winner of the Indiana/Boise game at Autzen. Georgia plays the winner of SMU at Tennessee in Athens, 'Tween the Hedges.' The above mirrors the model of the NFL 1st round. However, No. 1 AFL KC and No. 1 NFL Detroit will play the lowest seeded team remaining after the 1st round at home. If they continue to win they play at home before this year's champ game in New Orleans. The NFL model is the same used by the NCAA for all football playoffs it conducts except for re-seeding the field. The NCAA does not reseed the CBB tournament and I see no reason for reseeding an FBS tournament. GO NITS! GO BUCKS!

255 Million: The Total Stolen from Ten Former Pac-12 Members Which Includes 100 Million Rose Bowl Revenue
THIS, when there was no exit fee to be paid. When the Pac-2 had not sued for damages. When 10 members whether board members or not could have joined to file BK. And the people who were willingly held up are supposed to be some of the brightest on the block, right? 🤓 If only fans had standing and could sue for Breach of Fiduciary Duty with a side order of GROSS 🤮 Negligence. Perfect timing with the Ho(u)se Settlement on the horizon. It was and is a B1G deal to have escaped this insanity.

SEC fans on the Horns of a Dilemma 😁
30, TEXAS is on an island all by itself. Bevo, as witnessed when UGA was attacked by Bevo at the "We're Back! Sugar Bowl" game, is loyal to its royal self and no one else. Texas leveraged Scott's merger proposal into a $300M Disney Longhorn Network mistake. (And to save face, Larry added CU and Utah and cut USC's preferred payment. This did not have a happy ending for all concerned.) I was far from the only football fan in the preseason who noted the difficulty of UGA, Bama, Oklahoma, etc. schedules, compared to the Texas schedule. And the schedules are the same in 2025! It will be no surprise in 2025 if several SEC PO-contending teams have three losses. It also be no surprise if Texas is again playing in the SEC champ game. The B1G has done a far better job of mixing it up. No Michigan or Ohio State for OBD in 2025. These two and Penn State in 2027. (Get your 2027 tickets now; Ohio State and Penn State trip to Autzen in 2027.) One glaring issue beyond the current B1G schedules formatted through 2028, if the ACC and SEC stay at eight conference games, should the B1G drop a conference game? Come On Bucks! Come on Nits. We need the dues.

Oregon Star WR Evan Stewart Returning Next Year!
I loved Gabe but it will be interesting to see if Stewart is thrown to Moore when playing with a RH QB. Moore's problems at UCLA came on short and mid-range throws more than on deep throws. He has the arm strength to go deep, no doubt. At 6'3" he'll have an easier time looking downfield than Gabe.

Koetter Say Oregon Offered BSU D-player After Fiesta
I'm Shocked! An agent of OBD may have made an offer to a player's agent but the agent will not be directly associated with OBD. Division Street did not fall off of the last pumpkin wagon passing through Glendale. 😛 Of course, the G5 more than ever before is a training ground for players not offered by the P4 out of high school.

The House Settlement Will Bring a New NIL Model to College Athletics
Solar, great comment. The lawyers they hired were hired to preserve a status quo that began to disappear when the NCAA lost its CFB broadcast monopoly. What I don't get in today's world is counsel not exploring alternatives beyond a settlement that settles Nothing but a suit brought by a defined class of plaintiffs. Is my idea of filing BK worth a whip? Perhaps not but there has to be better ways to go than this House settlement. NO POLITICS INTENDED. There will be a new Congress sworn in and perhaps, the NCAA should see if it can get relief from this Congress before handing over $2 Billion to the House plaintiffs. I Do Not Get How and Why all of these learned folks can agree to drop their load with the Pac-2 and another group of super-intellects can settle with a specific and not all-inclusive group of plaintiffs. I mean, TWO BILLION DOLLARS and you're not in the clear? Three entities are suing your company. Let's give a huge settlement to one litigant while ignoring the other two. INSANE! INNANE!

The House Settlement Will Bring a New NIL Model to College Athletics
College's from their presidents to athletic directors on down are preparing for a new recruiting and NIL model if the House settlement is approved. But as noted plaintiff's attorney Thomas Mars (appropriate name, eh?) notes, House will not end litigation. In particular, if The Clearing House (seven employees of Deloitte will determine if NIL deals $600 and over are 'fair' when using a Fair Market Value test) gives a deal a thumbs down, a player's attorney will not take this lying down. Anyone who believes the Clearing House can cap NIL deals without pushback has not been paying attention. The House settlement will not bar existing, outside of the House class of plaintiffs, and future antitrust litigation. IMHO, the NCAA would be better off filing bankruptcy and as part of a plan of reorganization doing an end run on Congress by getting a federal bankruptcy to approve the plan of reorganization including protection from litigation, antitrust, Title IX, etc., that would likely be challenged to the Supreme Court level of review. If the Supremes sign off, college sports would have de facto federal and state protection from antitrust and other litigation. If the House settlement is approved, I think that it will be SSDD. With NIL era ending, college sports is on verge of seismic change. How will schools adapt with industry in upheaval? SPORTS.YAHOO.COM College football’s more professionalized era arrives in July, and historic powerhouses like Ohio State and Texas could lose both their inherent recruiting advantage and their financial edge. It is no surprise that Ohio State athletics are used as an example. How many FBS programs, especially at the G5 level, will be able to come up with $20M a year in direct payment to their athletes? If approved, I believe the settlement will lead to further conference consolidation and a Super Conference.
