  1. Heading into Week 7, B1G teams that have traveled two time zones or more for conference games are 1-7 including 0-2 USC. Will this be the case for the Buckeyes traveling three time zones?😁 Ohio State's only road trip to date has been to E. Lansing, MI. to play and destroy Sparty. The one winner to date is the leader in the B1G clubhouse at 6-0/ 2-0. The Hoosiers with a blowout win over the Bruins in LA. and its best season start since 1967.
  2. A Take on the Battle of the Os. Week 7 college football first look: Ohio State-Oregon leads dream Oct. 12 schedule WWW.SPORTINGNEWS.COM Oregon-Ohio State and Penn State-USC are just two of many games that will be highly anticipated. To date, teams that travel two or more time zones for a B1G conference game are 1-7.
  3. Tom Collins are cheaper at home and make watching polled Rams from Fort Collins play ball somewhat tolerable. Who, other than Tom who is passed out on the floor, will ever forget the classic CW game coverage provided by, Er, Hmmm, and Nod? Johnny C, it's Teresa and her JVs. 😁 Not Tony and the Top 2s. Have a really nice day.
  4. noDuckknewby - In Boise, it will be the Blue Turf instead of the Blue Plate Special. 😁
  5. Naw, too large a COL increase in LA over Oxford (Miss. Not England.)
  6. We're AP No. 3 with No. 2 Ohio State coming to town. WOW! NCAA College Football Rankings: AP Top 25 Football Poll APNEWS.COM The official page for the AP Top 25 college football poll, a tradition since 1936. Keep up to date and view the latest ranking updates each week.
  7. Will the D be ready for O-H-I-O? Oregon Ducks' key defensive stars proving they're ready to make a deep College Football Playoff run WWW.YARDBARKER.COM Early in the season, Oregon wasn't quite living up to the hype that they were garnering in the summer. Starting the season as the No. 3 team in the AP Poll, the expectations were that this team was...
  8. Danno Lives in the Trojans Hearts and Minds. And It Feels So Good. Lincoln Riley hot seat talk is ridiculous, but USC is playing catch-up TROJANSWIRE.USATODAY.COM It is ridiculous to think Lincoln Riley should be fired, but it is obvious that he wasted a whole year at USC and is paying the price for his 2023 mistakes. Traveler has gone from a Dark Horse to a Show Pony that looks good before the race starts and that's it. Yes, Riley waited too long to jettison Grinch, but this would have had SC recruiting as well as Danno and Friends. Right? SC overpaid this guy who wanted nothing to do with the SEC. Riley defeated LSU in LV and sprung a few leaks in Row The Boat Land. Be prepared. After playing like zombies in the 1st half, SC rallied for the W versus Wisconsin. Post game several players said: 'We didn't think they'd be that good.' This just in, you went 7-5 last season. Prepare for Everyone to be Good! SC will make the same mistake with Riley that Riley made with Grinch. Riley is a heck of an OC; That's All Folks. This weekend: Half-Priced Northwest 2-0; Solid Gold LA 0-2.
  9. With UNLV's loss. Huh? What's that, UNLV is still in the MW, my bad. I believe Boise State is the current (and future) Pac-Whatever leader in the Pac-Land clubhouse, along with two BBall buddies that don't play Footie. The Pac Brain Trust folk are awaiting (it's a very small room) word from Sac of Suds State, Incoherent Word, I-Da-Ho State, and Cal (Bears received its invite early this morning) to see if these invitees will Pac it in without knowing if there is Gold or Gould in their future. At least the Beavs invited one team it could beat; in OT. 😂
  10. Father, we'll SEC? (Sorry, Charles 😁) What do I know: "No Way GameDay will be in Eugene Saturday." Good call, JJ.
  11. Miami was MIA most of the night before a heck of a comeback. Back-to-back close calls for the Canes. ReCal that the Bears lost vs FSU. Left for Miami - Bye At Louisville - With its 2nd loss yesterday, home vs SMU, Louis will drop out of the AP Poll Vs. - Didn't you used to be FSU? Duke - lost to Georgia Tech (GT) yesterday At Georgia Tech - This could be tough but I doubt GT will be ranked. Wake Forest. At Syracuse. Miami will play 12 regular-season games against no ranked teams before the ACC Champ game in Charlotte. The Canes will likely match up with Clemson. One of the two will have a 1st round-bye. A Georgia team that thumped Clemson could be seeded behind Clemson or Miami. The ACC is a joke and these con men play 8 regular-season games.
  12. AP Poll - 1. Texas 2. Ohio State 3. Georgia 4. OREGON 5. Penn State. 3 B1G in the top 5? Make It So! Boise keeps destroying opponents like Utah State today and the Ducks win is looking better and better. MIA is in a battle in Berkeley. Loisville's loss to SMU could mean the Canes playing NO Top 25 teams in the regular season. Undefeated Army, Navy, and Pitt won today. How far will Michigan drop? Don't look now but The Cascade Clash will not be a walkover. Fisch, Belichick, and Carroll the Youngers have done a heck of a job with an entirely new, almost, group of starters. 3-2 UW could be 5-0 without self-inflicted wounds. (The Gators defeated UCF today turning the burner down a bit on Napier.) USC got rowed out of Minneapolis. The SC O did not Go-Far in Minny. Will Traveler remain in the top 25? UGA plays MS ST next week. Ducks win and OK continues its success in the Red River Rivalry and OBD is No. 1? Relax, JJ, Relax.
  13. The 1st time in SEC history 2 top 5 ranked teams lost to unranked opponents on the same day. Thank you Tide and Tennessee for Volunteering to Make The Battle of the Os a Top 5 vs Top 5 game! 😍 Ducks Fans, please do not flip your ducet to anyone dressed in red! Bust the Nuts!
  14. Do WE have a choice? Holy Hock-Eyes! Big Noon will be in town for a top 5 vs 5 match-up. Game Day does Dallas? Unplug the Chippers! Make It a Long Day for Knowles D!
  15. 'I hope Neil Young will remember, Commodores fans don't need Red Tide around anyhow!' Thank you, Leonard. 😁 Does Bama drop 2 or 3 spots? 3-2 Vandy into the Top 15? Is A+M an ESPN at large PO pick? Is Ole Miss back in the Top 10? Does the great home win against BC keep Mizzou in the Top 15? PAWALLLLLLLLL, what in the name of Dixie is goin' on out there? And where do all 'dem Auburn stud recruits end up? FLORIDA?
  16. Sweet Home Alabama? Tide is not rolling in Music City. MO? Oh my! And these Tigers still have to go on the road to play UMASS. GO CAL! GO CLEMSON! Mari(o) on Game Day - "Cam Ward is the best QB I have ever coached." This could be true because he did nothing to coach Justin H up. 😁 CRACK Buckey's Nuts!
  17. He could be gone after next season. He didn't RS last season. He still has a chance to get MSU bowl-eligible this season.
  18. Review of the Game From CBS. Oregon vs. Michigan State score, takeaways: No. 6 Ducks throttle Spartans ahead of showdown with Ohio State - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Oregon used a punishing ground game to take down Michigan State, set up a monumental battle with Ohio State next week
  19. B1G Bowl Predictions From Ducks Wire/USA Today. Bowl game projections for every Big Ten football team after Week 5 DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM A look at where each college football team in the Big Ten Conference is projected to play in the bowl postseason after Week 5 of the season.
  20. Yet, Texas opens its 2025 season at Ohio State. The Buckeyes return the visit in 2026 before beginning a H+H series with Alabama in 2027. Michigan plays at Oklahoma next season, then hosts the Sooners in 2026 before playing at Texas in 2027. Georgia opened the season vs. No. 15 Clemson and will play Georgia Tech in the final game of the regular season. Thus, UGA will play 10 P4 opponents in 2024, 11 if it plays in the SEC champ game. Both UGA and OBD play in their respective champ games and the Dawgs will play 11 P-4, OBD 10. Notre Dame in 2024 plays 4 G5 opponents and will not play a 13th conference champ game. The Domers have a Bye when the top teams in the nation are playing a ranked opponent for a conference title. Mizzou and Ole Miss OOC schedules this season were a joke but so were Ohio State and Indiana's OOC slates. To date, Ohio State has the 130th SOS in the nation according to ESPN metrics. OBD 's SOS to date is 86th in the nation The H+H series scheduled to be played between Ole Miss and USC in 2025 and 2026 was mutually canceled. Ole Miss usually plays lightweights OOC and SC with 9 conference games plus Notre Dame has enough on its plate. The Point: One Size Does Not Fit All teams in any conference and with these mega-conferences, SOS in-conference varies significantly. To date, No. 1 Bama's SOS is 26, No. 4 Tennessee 75, and No. 2 Texas 89. Week 6, using the AP Poll has ONE Top 25 vs Top 25 game, barely, No. 9 Missouri at Tied No. 25 A+M. Think what the ratings would be if the seven ranked B1G teams played the top 7 ranked SEC teams on Thursday, night, Friday night, and Saturday. David Marsh, no surprise, nailed it. The Power 2 will morph into a Super Conference as soon as Sankey and Petitti, and NCAA president Baker, can get 'things' worked out. Both Power 2 commissioners know that the proposed House settlement is a stopgap and gives no long-term litigation relief to the Power 2 conferences. CFB at the champion level, which most certainly will not include the Pac-2, 4, 6, 8, or 12, and have to be able to negotiate a collective bargaining agreement with the players to bring coherence to college roster management and oversight to NIL. Then, go to Congress and obtain the same relief from litigation provided to the NFL. They also know that the media deals they have today would be blown away by a Super Conference collectively taking its football game inventory to the market and/or, creating a Super Conference Network to directly market the inventory without going through 3rd party media companies. Like the NFL, the Super Conference will probably directly sell its product and work with media companies. OOC scheduling will not exist. All games will be Super Conference games to add value to the inventory. The NFL does not schedule games vs Canadian League teams. Players will, like the NFL players, own their NIL, and be directly compensated; there will be direct pay-to-play. Will there be anything 'Student' about these 'Athletes?' Down the road I expect we'll see a high school draft with negotiated limits on 'rookie' salaries and a salary cap. Meanwhile, Never, Ever, Never schedule Boise State and Never go on the road to play a G5/6 opponent.
  21. Coach Prime's team is tied for 1st place in the B12 after an upset win by a lot at UCF. Along with BYU and Texas Tech. Who knew?
  22. Make 'This' Happen and No One Will Care How OBD Played Before the B1G Title Game. Conference championship game projections: How each league stacks up as the calendar turns to October - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Here's an early look at potential conference championship game matchups after some impactful results Football Powers That Be: How about a trip to Indy, a PO bye, followed by hosting a Rose Bowl? Calm Down, JJ. SPANK SPARTY ON THE WAY TO INDY + PASADENA!
  23. It's Time For CFB Replay to prove itself; it cannot do so. 7 plus minutes to overturn any play is egregious. No evidence provided INCONTROVERTIBLE evidence within 7 minutes? What in the heck showed up after 6 minutes and 59 or so, seconds to erase Virginia Tech's 'win' over The U? GO BEARS!
  24. Friend 30 - Thanks for the post. Mizzou - A Charmin Soft schedule before this game including BC at home with at UMASS in late November left fot these 'Tigers' playing for the John Adams Pillow Fight Trophy? I like the Aggies to win in College Station and expose Mizzou like Ole Miss was exposed last week at home by KY. Mizzou's conference schedule and OOC schedule are a jest. Both N0. 16 out of 16 in the SEC. Louisville. - An overrated IMO, sorry Tyler takes back-to-back Ls. Leaving Miami with ZERO ranked teams on its schedule. tOSU - Defeats Iowa but no cover, as Ryan Day prepares for the trip to Eugene with OBD having an extra day's rest. 😁 Ditto Oregon? OBD wins but will Danno given the chance, run it up or rest his guys? Ole Miss at USC(E) - Recall that USC(E) drilled KY on the road and without a bad call would have defeated LSU in Columbia. The Gamecocks were idle last week with time to digest KY's win in Oxford. Like FSU, is Ole Miss's sum of its NIL parts as good as preseason projected? Indiana at NW. I (reluctantly) cop to being alive and drawing breath and recalling Indiana's 1967 run to the Rose Bowl under Coach John Pont. In the 1968 Rose Bowl game, USC 'undercovered' 14 to 3; OJ, for lack of a better candidate, was the game's MVP. This Saturday, the Hoosiers win and cover on the shores of Lake Michigan. MIA? 7 plus minutes to overturn a call that had VA Tech winning in Coral Gables. COME ON CFB! It took 7 minutes to witness INCONTROVERTIBLE VISUAL EVIDENCE to hand Miami a W? Replay brought to you by Mr. Magoo? Mr. ESPN? CAL has played against Cam Ward. Will the GameDay 'blessed' Golden Bears win? I do not know but IMO the Bears cover the +12.5. [BTW, ESPN comes West to cover 2 ACC teams it broadcasts so it can 'justify' being in Dallas and not Eugene next Saturday?] UPSET ALERT - The No. 4 Vols at the Hogs. A 10-point win against O-challenged Oklahoma moves a team to No. 4? OK, I guess?
  25. Belichick the younger has done a terrific job cableing together a defense. Michigan will not get every home-field call as it did vs SC and Minnesota's on-side kick should have given the Gophers a chance to win the game. As 30 noted, UW outgained both WSU and Rutgers; in the case of the Scarlet Knights by 200 yards. Screw-ups on O have hurt the Huskies. Even with 2Ls, QB Will Rogers, who transferred in from Mississippi State, and RB Jonah Coleman who followed Fisch from Arizona, are legit. The last game of the regular season will not, IMO, be a walk-over. Rutgers is not but could be ranked. Miami was darn lucky to defeat a VA Tech team at home which Rutgers defeated on the road. Michigan? To me, the Wolverines are the Prima Donna of the conference in which OBD now plays ball. "We are Michigan! We do not play on Friday night!" "42 rushes against USC and not one holding call, our entirely new starting OL is simply that legit!" GAG ME WITH A 'MICHIGAN MAN!' Fisch is a very good coach. UW with 1 starter back (!) is playing a lot better than I thought it would. SPANK SPARTY!
