Ruh-Roh! Wisconsin Suing Miami Over NIL/Recruiting Tampering...
This article from Yardbarker clarifies the NCAA's current 'a contract doesn't matter' POV. I don't think the NCAA or any other third party saw this lawsuit coming. Wisconsin football makes NCAA history with tampering lawsuit against Miami WWW.YARDBARKER.COM The NIL era has essentially turned college football into a professional sport, and we now have our first tampering lawsuit between major programs. Wisconsin and its NIL collective filed a...

A Badger's POV. I haven't seen anything from Mario regarding this chi-Cane-ry 🤔 Wisconsin issues eye-opening new allegations against Miami in Xavier Lucas case BADGEROFHONOR.COM Just when you thought that maybe all of the Xavier Lucas drama was done and over with, the Wisconsin football team has decided that it's not going to let Miami

When it comes to B1G NIL checks, SC isn't waffling. This is a B1G miss for Penn State. which has Wafle's brother on the roster and does not often miss out on players from Jersey. The B1G Best Brace Itself for the Coming SEC Playoff Format Chicanery
Thanks, Mike. 7th-place B1G finisher SC also defeated A+M last season in bookend victories over the SEC. But, according to the SEC media, What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas. 🍻 Michigan is 4-3 all-time vs The Tide. The first win was a 28-24 victory in 1987 with Demetrious Brown playing QB for the Wolverines. In 2000, Michigan defeated Bama in the Orange Bowl, with some guy named Tom Brady throwing for a college career high 369 yards. On its way to a Natty, Michigan sent Saint Nick out of coaching with a 27-20 OT victory in the Rose Bowl. Last season, with many 2024 top draft choices sitting out, Michigan defeated an all-hands-on-deck Bama, 19- 13 in the RQ Bowl. In 2024, Michigan's passing 'attack' was superior only to Army and Navy. 1st round draft pick Bama QB Jalen Milroe went 0-2 against Michigan. And as you noted, PO screwed over 9-3 South Carolina lost its bowl game against 9-3 Illinois. Two of Illinois's losses came on the road at No. 1 Oregon and No. 4 Penn State, but Tony Petitti and the ESPN talking heads did not mention that Illinois was screwed over. Using ESPN's F(radulent) P(ower) I(ndex) to support an 8-game conference schedule being the hardest gauntlet in CFB is a self-fulfilling joke. When the FPI ranks 13 SEC teams, 82.50% of the conference in the top 25, you're probably going to have a pretty good in-conference strength of schedule. 🧐 Don't you just hate it when facts get in the way? 🙃

Ruh-Roh! Wisconsin Suing Miami Over NIL/Recruiting Tampering...
He's being paid more NIL money at MIA than he was by the Badgers. This was a case of Tampering with a capital T. I'm happy that the B1G conference supports this litigation. If you can walk away from a contract for more money and not pay liquidated damages, as we see when coaches leave one school for another, what's to prevent a player from transferring in-season to an opponent his former team has not yet played? Or, simply leave his sinking ship for the chance to play on a playoff contender? All the new school has to do is be willing to enroll the player. If you read Ross Dellinger's article on the matter on Yahoo (I posted this article yesterday on B1G Info, Predictions), one worrisome issue here is that the NCAA has arguably approved such transfers notwithstanding a contract being in place. Why would the NCAA being on the wrong side of an issue surprise anyone? The further rub in this case is that these pre-House Settlement approval direct payment contracts were the norm and not the exception. Schools with half-decent legal representation will have ensured that a player had the agreement approved by an attorney before signing, and had a parent or guardian sign for the player if he was under the age of consent. How do you think Cristobal and Miami would feel if they were on the flip side of this issue? Miami will, of course, move to dismiss and also move to have the case transferred from Wisconsin state court to federal court. I don't think the case will be dismissed out of hand, but a transfer to federal court is likely. College Football needs more chaos, right?

Arrington To TA&M
The other silver lining. It doesn't matter before signing day. Many of these 'Lost Boys' will likely be available on the rebound before signing day or out of the portal.

She's also doing her job when she whispers in Bill's hearing aid, 'Nothing is off limits!' 😛 How about when the Tar Heels walked from two decades of academic fraud because not just athletes but also 'regular students' were cheating. 😴 Compare this to USC getting hammered for one guy going out of bounds.😁 Compare the Tar Heels' hall pass to OBD losing scollies because Chip used outside help with recruiting. The Horror! 🤬 My UNC golfing buddies are not happy campers. 🤮

June Gloom and Doom Football Predictions
UW has the 2nd-longest home win streak behind Georgia. UW has won 20 consecutive games in Husky Stadium. Before OBD arrives for the last regular season game in 2025, to continue the streak, UW will have to defeat The Ohio State University and a veteran Illinois team.

2025 BIG Info, Predictions, Etc. (8)
I hope Mario takes it in the shorts. This will be a landmark case as to whether a contractual agreement can prevent a player from transferring. How often does a team sue over the transfer portal? Wisconsin levies landmark suit against Miami WWW.SPORTINGNEWS.COM The University of Wisconsin is suing Miami (Florida) for poaching a player while Xavier Lucas was under contract with the team. How often does it happen? Never. This is an unprecedented case that... I don't want to hear any, 'He's just a kid BS.' The player and his representatives knew what was being agreed to. There is no excuse for Mario and Miami to interfere with the contract. How would Mario and Miami like the flip side? But it's Uncle Phil going all out to buy a Natty, right? 🤔 This is going to be B1G. Here's a more detailed report from Yahoo. The Big Ten supports this filing. Good luck to the Canes in a Wisconsin courtroom. I expect that, along with a Motion to Dismiss, Miami will move to have the case transferred to federal court. If a contract does not restrict a player's transfer outside of the portal period, then let even more chaos rein in CFB. Including in-season walkouts and perhaps suiting up for an upcoming opponent. Wisconsin files suit against Miami for poaching Xavier Lucas while he was under contract with school SPORTS.YAHOO.COM In a landmark moment in college athletics, one university has filed suit against another over tortious interference, according to documents obtained by Yahoo Sports.

June Gloom and Doom Football Predictions
According to Game on Paper, last season, OBD had the 38th-ranked CFB D. The 2024 Top 10 Ds and their Havoc Rate. (Havoc Rate is the percentage of downs where a defense disrupts the opponent's offense. Sacks, interceptions, fumbles, hurries, deflected balls, turnovers, etc.) 1. Texas - 16.6% 2. Notre Dame - 11.9% 3. Ohio State - 12.5% 4. Tennessee - 15.9% 5. Indiana - 14.9% 6. Penn State - 14.3% 7. James Madison U. - 13.3% 8. Oklahoma - 13.6% 9. SMU - 13.7% 10. Alabama - 12.8% Seven of the Top 10 made the 2024-25 playoffs. In 2025, OBD's D should consider using one of Willie the Shake's Battle Cries - "Cry Havoc and Let Slip the Ducks of War!" - Marc Antony (I know, Marc and his gal pal, Cleopatra, came in second to Agrippa and Octavian and their cry of 'Revenge!'.) Oregon's Havoc Rate last season was 10.8%. Not terrible, but not among the leaders. Of course, the D stats are not adjusted for strength of schedule, an issue with all of college football's statistics. With a close to an all-new starting cast on O, the D with many newbies of its own, will need to step up for OBD to return to the playoffs, instead of visiting Darren's basement. A gloomy, gloomy place. 🥶

The B1G Best Brace Itself for the Coming SEC Playoff Format Chicanery

The B1G Best Brace Itself for the Coming SEC Playoff Format Chicanery
The 5-11 Model is Best for the ACC and B12. Thank goodness CFB has experts like Nicole Auerbach to help us out. 😴 However, Hats Off to the Big 12 for joining the B1G in not supporting the 5-11 format unless the SEC plays 9 conference games. (The ACC and the Pac-8? Who Cares?) 😁 National writer says SEC interest in 5+11 CFP model best for ACC CANESWARNING.COM In an article updating the stalled talks between the Big 10 and SEC regarding college football playoff expansion, Nicole Auerbach of NBC Sports says the 5+11 mo Greg Sankey and the SEC using the ESPN FPI rankings to support its superior strength of schedule isn't biased. After all, 'Baghdad Bob,' currently writing Op-Ed pieces for the National Enquirer, believes that It Just Means More !, and that Spanky, er, Sankey, is Spot On! 🤮

June Gloom and Doom Football Predictions
Worst Case, Sans Injuries - 10-2 - and a return to the Playoffs. Best Case - 13-0 - Playoff No. 1 seed, play the winner of No. 9 at No. 8 in the Rose Bowl. The winner of this 1st round game will not be the committee's 6th-ranked team. 🤬 (And No. 9 seed had better not be the G6 representative.) Two opponents in the regular season with Blue Chip Rosters - Penn State and USC. No Michigan and no Ohio State on the schedule. From 2024 through 2028, 2025, on paper, is OBD's easiest schedule. 2027 sees OBD at Michigan, at Baylor, and at home versus Ohio State and Penn State. YIKES! A ton of roster turnover, only 5 starters return. But this is a 'make hay while the sun shines' schedule. BOB THEM CATS!

The B1G Best Brace Itself for the Coming SEC Playoff Format Chicanery
Thank you, friend 30, for honing in on today's most important college football issue, a possible revision to the playoff format that means hundreds of millions of dollars. Tony Petitti cannot allow the B1G to be sucker punched by the duplicitous Greg Sankey.

The B1G Best Brace Itself for the Coming SEC Playoff Format Chicanery
CFB Format change held up because of a beef between the B1G and the SEC, Naturally? What's holding up CFP expansion? SEC and Big Ten are at a potential impasse on these key issues SPORTS.YAHOO.COM Keeping the playoff at its current 12-team format is a grim reality for some, but it’s a possibility, perhaps even a probability as negotiations creep closer to the Dec. 1 deadline. The PO staying at 12 is better for the B1G than a 16-team field with an 11-5 format. Did the author of this article not get the memo that the Advisory Board member SEC was on board with automatic qualifiers before sucker-punching the B1G? The SEC using ESPN's FPI data to justify staying at 8 conference games is laughable for anyone with the slightest clue. The 2025 FPI preseason ranking has 13 SEC teams in its top 25. If need be, Commissioner Petitti, use a B1G veto and stay at 12 teams.

The B1G Best Brace Itself for the Coming SEC Playoff Format Chicanery
One of these things is not like the others: Honest Abe, George 'I Cannot Tell a Lie' Washington, Greg Sankey. College Football Playoff format talks go back to drawing board as SEC gains momentum to keep 8-game schedule - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Newly proposed metrics could work in the SEC's favor as it looks to avoid a nine-game slate Will the B1G's Tony Petitti pull a Larry Scott and let Sankey and the SEC get away with this crud? I'd rather see the B1G exercise its 'veto power' and stay with a 12-team PO.
