  1. The following are the B1G broadcast partners beginning in 2024 through 2030. Fox, FS1 (Fox Sports 1,) CBS, NBC, NBC streaming service, Peacock, and the Big10 Network (BTN.) Pacific Broadcast times for a B1G 'usual broadcast' on Saturday will be: Fox B1G Noon Game - 9 AM Pacific - Pregame coverage begins on Fox at 7 AM. CBS - 12:30 NBC - 4:30 And I expect that a late game, 7:30 Pacific will be the norm with the broadcasts sorted out between the above-identified broadcast entities. Fox networks will show at least 9 Friday Night games. For an undisclosed reason, Michigan and Penn State do not host Friday Night games. Peacock will stream 9 games. Labor Day weekend will feature a B1G broadcast on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday nights, in addition to a full slate of Saturday games. I recommend that OBD forum members sign up on BTN. Fantastic coverage of the B1G Conference with in-depth coverage of the Pac-4, before the official sign-on date. Get your popcorn and favorite IPAs ready!
  2. I believe after transferring from OK St to UW he has 1 season of eligibility remaining. Gonzales anyone?
  3. He Gone! I think that Michigan gives OC Sherron Moore who was undefeated as a pinch hitter coach the gig. How many Michigan assistant coaches have defeated That Team Down South?
  4. Great post. Buy none of these guys were in the top 170 recruits regardless of position. My bad for not expressing the message correctly and good on you for a terrific deep dive.
  5. Yet again, with a 9 game conference schedule, the Pac-12 beat itself up. Many of the teams the Ducks defeated were ranked and finished unranked. What conference was better? The Pac-12 won the bowl series. A team from the Pac-12 played a B1G team for the title. USC defeated the team that finished second in the ACC with a backup QB. UCLA defeated the Mountain West champion. Oregon blew out a 13-0 team that led the nation in rush yards. Weak? I don't see it. If the Pac-12 was weak, what conference in 2023 was not weak? And while not really on point the Michigan vs. UW game drew the most viewers in the last 5 seasons. I humbly disagree with you, my friend. IMO the Pac-12 in 2023 was the leader of the P5 pack.
  6. A $240M 'budget miscalculation?' Oops! Jedd Fisch's departure presents big challenges for an Arizona team in transition THEATHLETIC.COM College football has become a rotating door. When a popular coach like Jedd Fisch leaves a program, players usually follow.
  7. OBD members, focus on point No. 7. I believe a consensus is growing for OREGON and Ohio State to be considered as the two top contenders for a B1G title in 2024. How different will Michigan look in 2024? 10 thoughts after the championship celebration THEATHLETIC.COM J.J. McCarthy declared for the NFL, joining Blake Corum and numerous key players from Michigan's title team. Is Jim Harbaugh next?
  8. OK, but the man was recruiting to a basketball school with ZERO football accolades. The flip side of this analysis is that he took a group of lesser-recruited players, to No. 11 in the country, and defeated Oklahoma, a team with a much deeper roster in the Alamo Bowl. AZ lost in OT at Miss St. with de Laura turning it over 4 times. Lost in OT at SC. Gave UW all that it could handle, and fairly easily dispatched Oregon State. This team had a legit shot at finishing 11-2. I reiterate I am very happy Oregon played in Tempe this season and not in Tucson. Recruiting remains a critical element in CFB but the composite ranking, including transfers, is also critical. UW's roster last season from a recruiting point of view was far better than the recruiting rankings with Penix, among others, coming to UW as a 3*. The Joe Moore Award-winning OL did not have a starter ranked above No. 170 coming out of high school. As to the QB injury, where would the 49ers be today if injuries had not moved Brock Purdy up the starting position? The great Nick Saban could not figure out his permanent starter at QB before game No. 3. When was the last time that UW out-recruited Oregon? UW today is a development program and not a Blue Chip Roster program. Fisch did a heck of a job coaching up development players at Arizona and when the portal dust settles I think he will have a better roster at UW than he did in Tucson. I'll take Dan Lanning all day long over Fisch but I don't think the guy at UW will be a pushover by any means.
  9. Thanks, Don. Did he receive an official 'offer?' I doubt it. Did Alabama reach out to his agent, Heck Yes! Part of the game is not to make an official offer if there is no interest. The Bama AD, Greg Byrne, is scrambling today to make sure everyone knows that DeBoer was his first choice. Right?
  10. No. 3 in Total D last season with most of the key players returning.
  11. Come ON, Rob! This is what all coaches preach and 17 and 18-year-olds buy into. At a basketball school, a school with no CFB modern-day football laurels, Fisch took a 0-12 team to NO. 11 in the country in 3 seasons. Remarkable. I think many AZ guys will follow him to UW if invited and that his message will resonate in Seattle. He's in the B1G Leagues so any other job that comes up will have to be a Power 2 job. As to the team meeting, that's not the same as him speaking with the guys he wants to bring with him. Unless it's an Irish Wake, why prolong a wake? I believe that Fisch and UW will continue to be worthy adversaries.
  12. When in Tucson, at least he didn't pull a Rich Rod!
  13. Washington hiring Arizona's Jedd Fisch as coach THEATHLETIC.COM Fisch took over a program riding a 12-game losing streak.
  14. Jedd Fisch agrees to become Washington coach, sources say - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM Arizona's Jedd Fisch has agreed to a contract to be the next football coach at Washington, sources told ESPN on Sunday, with the deal covering seven years at an average of $7.75 million...
  15. 13-3 with the injury outs is darned impressive. Projects to a Tourney spot for certain.
  16. Fisch leaving opens a 30-day transfer window for Wildcats players. I expect that many of his better players will follow him into the Power 2 B1G and out of the B12. QB Julian Sayin is committed to Alabama.
  17. I believed him to be one of the top two candidates for the job. I think his hire makes a lot of sense. It is definitely a move-up for Fisch. He will now be coaching in the P2 and not in the G5+ which is where the B12 sits. The Arizona athletic department is flat-out broke. As noted above, Fisch coached for Carroll in Seattle and he also made a coaching stop at Michigan. Heck of a 3-year turnaround from 0-12 to number 11 in the country. At a place not accustomed to success on the football field. U of A as a Pac member never qualified to play in the Rose Bowl on January 1st. Now, how many quality AZ players will he bring with him? QB Will Rogers has de-committed from UW so bringing his QB, Fifita, with him would make sense. Watching Fifita play this season I had throwback thoughts of Sonny Sixkiller playing at UW. Fisch brings future pro T-Mac along with him as the number one wideout and Fifita and T-Mac will be right up there with any pass-catch combo in the B1G. This guy can recruit. And he can evaluate and coach up 3* talent. I was very happy last season to see the Ducks playing in Tempe and not in Tucson. I think he is right up there with the upper tier of B1G coaches. After all, a guy like Fickell at Wisconsin has yet to prove that he has P4 coaching chops. Fleck at Minnesota may have reached his zenith. Ferentz at Iowa is the opposite side of the coin from Riley. I think this guy will be a far tougher out than many on the board project. He's certainly on par with Locksley at Maryland and Schiano at Rutgers. Rhule has yet to 'prove it' at Nebraska. Braun at NW did a great job in 2023 but does anyone believe that NW, Indiana, or Purdue are going to win a B1G title? I'm not taking this guy for granted. He has tons of coaching experience at every level. He connected well with the players at AZ who balled out for him last season. IMO, UW could have done a heck of a lot worse.
  18. If Fisch gets the job he will likely bring QB Fifita and All-Pac WR Tre with him along with several other AZ starters. He leaves and a 30-day transfer window opens at AZ. With what he has done in 3 seasons in Tucson, I hope he stays there.
  19. Looking at the video from Buffalo I can understand why today's NFL Wild-Card game has been moved to Monday. It got me thinking about how bad the weather could be for a 2024/25 first-round CFB playoff game in Ann Arbor, Columbus, and Madison, Wisconsin. Wear your long johns and bring a hand warmer and a pint of the creature. For that matter, how bad could things be in Seattle and Eugene? It never rains in Autzen Stadium but in December there are more than a few of what the Irish call 'soft days. Hoping for a 2024/25 1st round bye but a 1st round home game in Autzen? I'd be happy to deal with the weather. With a 12-team PO in 2023/24, Oregon would have hosted Missouri.
  20. The Future's So Bright - 😍
  21. No surprise here but it's another B1G moment for the Ducks. It took Harbaugh 8 years to get Michigan into the 4-team Invitational and 10 years to win it all in a season where the SEC's 'best team' Georgia did not make the field. A difficult season for Bama that had more than its share of ups and downs leading in part to Saint Nick's retirement. JJ McCarthy is a late 1st round/ 2nd round NFL QB draft pick. Like at Stanford, Harbaugh's focus after a few unsuccessful Michigan standard seasons, returned to smash-mouth football. Caleb Williams free-lanced USC to an out-of-the-final AP top-25 finish. McCarthy who was playing through an injury late in the season, perfectly game managed Michigan to a title. The drive in the Rose Bowl to tie the game was epic. McCarthy was able to overcome a special teams meltdown and win the game. Would you rather have JJ or Joe Flacco? Harbaugh's gone. Most likely and I hope, to the Chargers. He is losing the core of the roster that defeated Ohio State 3 times in a row and won the title. His relationship with the Wolverines AD is chilly. And why stick around and have to deal with the NCAA? Will Sherron Moore, undefeated as an interim coach against Penn State, Maryland, and Ohio State be elevated to the top job? All of this cements my belief that Oregon and Ohio State, with the corps of its roster back and quality portal pickups, will be playing in the 2024 B1G champ game. In 2024, Michigan plays Texas, Oregon, and USC in Ann Arbor and trips to Seattle and Columbus. Like UW, Michigan will not be putting a 2023 B1G time Blue Chip Roster on the field in 2024. The Michigan roster in 2023 was 54% Blue Chip, 14 out of 16 teams with a BCR. Will it still be Blue Chip come 2024? The Ducks keep scoring by commission and omission.
  22. Thank you, Sir Notalot. A very timely take. We live in a wired world. What you did for me yesterday, unfortunately, has little or no bearing on what are doing for me today. Especially, when you are being paid $10M a year to win football games. High expectations follow this kind of money. And with (un)Social Media, everyone from Mensa to cretin gets to toss in their 2 cents. I have no doubt whatsoever that Bama AD Greg Byrne reached out to DL, Sark, and likely Kiffin before hiring DeBoer. Nick's leaving resulted in new deals for Sark and Kiff. I also expect that Byrne spoke with Dabo's agent who told Byrne that Dabo is not leaving what he built at Clemson to try to maintain what Saban did at Bama. How can any coach improve upon Saban's record? Bama last suffered 3 losses in the 2010 season when The Tide went 10-3. Bama made the 4-Team Invitational in 8 out of 10 seasons. And the Bama schedule with OK and TX joining the SEC will only be more difficult. And Bam no longer plays 4 cupcakes OOC. In 2025 Bama plays both Wisconsin and FSU. Dabo resurrected the Clemson program doing it his way. Dabo the coach is not as great with an average QB instead of an NFL-ready QB. And the NFL-ready QBs had NFL-bound WRs to throw to. What's new? The concern I hear from Clemson fans down south here in South Carolina is whether Dabo's reluctance to pick the portal is hurting the program. After a 4-4 start, Clemson won 5 straight games, including a great bowl victory over Kentucky where 42 combined points were scored in the 4th quarter. Next season Clemson has the 'privilege' of opening against Georgia in Atlanta and trips to FSU. But I believe that Clemson will win the ACC and receive a 1st round playoff bye or make the field seeded somewhere between 5-11. Dabo walked on at Bama and went on to be an all-SEC DB. Thanks gain, Not.
  23. It would be great to bring in Bair. I think he will be spending the next 2 seasons on a mission, right?
  24. Ohio State's, Ryan Day, like Jim Harbaugh last season, is doing a great job of keeping Ohio State's draft-eligible players in Columbus. The projected 1st or 2nd round picks who are returning: are RB Treyvon Henderson; Edge: JT Tuimoloau and 2023 sack leader Jack Sawyer; WR Emeka Egbuka; and CB Denzel Burke. Oregon picked up the B12 2023 1st-team QB, Gabriel Dillon. Ohio State has 2nd-team QB, Will Howard, who finished ahead of Texas, Quinn Ewers, All-SEC RB, Quinshon Judkins from Ole Miss is also headed to Columbus. And Jim Harbaugh has announced that he will begin meeting with NFL teams next week. Ryan Day's record against B1G opponents is 39-3 with the 3 losses coming against Michigan. I think that in 2024, the Buckeyes will be on the same kind of crusade that Harbaugh and Michigan were on in 2023. The OOC slate is a breeze. Michigan visits Columbus. The toughest road game on paper looks to be the Buckeyes visit to Autzen. Not certain how the Midwest journalists will treat the 'Pac-4' but I believe that Oregon and Ohio State should be odds on to rematch in the 2024 B1G champ game in Indianapolis.
  25. Who knows other than Jimmy Sexton these days? But Smith bringing Childs with him and reversing to UW? I do not see it. He's in the Power 2 with resources equal to UW. Jedd Fisch? And he brings Fifita and Tre with him?
