  1. Rob reached out when both jobs were open as reported by SI and ESPN. As to cutting jobs. Except for imcompetence at the time of initial audit I'd cut jobs by attrition. Bot please, look at the Org Chart and tell me this would fly in non-governmental entity.
  2. KK, I think Hurricanns already saw this vs. The Rambling Wreck.
  3. We Can Litigate! But in the B1G boy leauge, We Can't Play! Build another Dam. One of the worst bowl losses ever by a ranked team. BUT, we were missing players. And ND was not missing players? Rob gave these Beavers bozos a home game instead of playing P4 TX Tech in Autzen, When the litigation had been settled and with the Pac-10 crumbling in favor of a nothing burger Pac-2? Why? At some point is it not time that Common Sense and Playoff sense, even in these days, comes to the forefront? Rob with an Org Chart that would never fly in the real world comes up with THIS? I'll take half of Rob's salary, $500K instead of $1M, and cut one third of the work force and give the people reporting to me a 33% salary bump, improve productivity, and show Rob his jock. INCLUDING playing a P4 opponent at home insted of playing a CFB lost-in-space Oregon State OR State in Corvallis. And you cannot be serious? Reschedule Hawaii to the first Off Week and play nine games in a row? If I'm Danno I'm not a happy camper. My earlier posts about about Oregon having 2 Off Weeks regardless, and I apologize to those who raised the issue, if I am wrong, is a further condemnation of Rob who has put his name into play for the UGA and A+M AD jobs. SM old H.
  4. This would be INSANE! But surprising?
  5. Below is a 2024 CFB Top-24 (plus a team to be named later) Ranking based upon Bet MGM Odds to win the 2024/25 CFB Championship. A $100 bet would pay out the amount following a ranking. I have sorted teams with the same odds by their 2023/24 finish. I do not know the odds of George Kliavkoff returning to MGM for employment. Based upon his record as the Pac-12 Commish, if GK wants to be rehired he best join the Culinary Union. 😍 1. Georgia - 480 - UGA 1 and Bama 2? Shocking! No. 1 recruiting class. 2. Alabama - 550 - No. 2 recruiting class. The Dixieland beat goes on. 3. Ohio State - 600 - Oregon brings the conference's best QB into the B1G. Gets tOSU in Autzen. Hmmm? 4. Texas - 850 - New Year's Day - does Sark defeat his former employer? 5. Michigan - 1000 - The core of the Wolverines team is leaving Ann Arbor. Jim? 6. OREGON - 1100 - My LV friends and I have $500 down on OBD. I like these odds. 7. LSU - 1400 - Merely have to find a D and replace the Heisman winner. 8. FSU - 1900 - What are the odds of winning the Get Out of the ACC Jail Free lawsuit? 9. Notre Dame - 2200 - Dear Domers, Join a conference or play 13 regular season games! 10. Clemson - 2500 - Game 1 is vs. Georgia in Atlanta. And Tyler from Spartanburg wants Dabo's job? 11. Penn State - 2600 - Can Franklin get over the Michigan, Ohio State and OREGON hurdle? 12. Ole Miss - The Portal King is Portaling and has a favorable 2024/25 schedule. 13. Texas A+M - I wish I could short the Aggies. All Hat, No Cattle. 14. USC - 3200 - Is it Miller Time? 15. Oklahoma - 3500 - I think Sark is ready for the SEC. The Sooners? 16. Washington - 5000 - Going down? Recruits? Basement level. 17. Tennessee - Another team whose PO chances are being thrown out with the Wash. 18. Miami - 7000 - And Double Secret Double Short Mario. 19. Missouri - 10,000 - Looks like someone sees these Tigers being declawed. But easiest SEC schedule. 20. Louisville - LOL! Heck of a Holiday! 21. Utah - I see a QB a-Rising. 22. Arizona - 12,000 - Cats comin' with more than a CBB team and Primetime bluster. 23. Kansas State -The Little Wildcat that Could chugs on. 24. Auburn - Now able to legally pay the players, Freeze is heating up. 25. Left Out By Vegas - Do you have a candidate? Holy Vandy! SEC - 10 teams! B1G - 6 teams. What? No Iowa? GO DUCKS! Extinguish the Flames!of
  6. As Charles says, Greatness Appears Early. I again congratulate Charles for early on calling out Mario, a guy who can recruit but cannot coach. Pour all the NIL sugar you like on Miami recruits and it will not matter. And the games played in the Dolphins stadium often resemble a crypt. I'm not certain anyone will ever be able to return Miami to the days of glory playing in the falling down Orenge Bowl. Call Time Out Baby!
  7. Thank You, David. Two 2023 influential team moments to recall. Two great snapshots in a far B1Gger picture.
  8. The Sooners missed a certain starting QB in this game. On the way out the door, the Pac-12 defeated Texas and Oklahoma back-to-back in San Antonio. AZ is bringing more than a CBB team into the B12.
  9. Paly Hawaii or don't play Hawaii the 2024 Off Weeks remain the same.
  10. Three reasons Texas can beat Washington in the CFP semifinals WWW.YARDBARKER.COM For a second straight season, Washington and Texas will meet in a bowl game. Only this time, a trip to the national championship is at stake.
  11. ACC - It has not been a good bowl season for the ACC; this, after being Final 4 snubbed. To date, all of the ACC ranked teams have lost. ACC teams are 4-6 with 2 games left. W - BC, Duke, Georgia Tech, VA Tech L - No. 15. Louisville, No. 19. NC St, No. 24. SMU, Miami (Time Out!), UNC, Cal Left to Play - No. 22. Clemson vs. Kentucky, No. 5 FSU vs. No. 6 Georgia. ...................................................................................................................................................................... B12 - Heck of a bowl season for the B12. With 1 game left to be played, the B12 is 6-2. All ranked teams have won their games and the B12 finishes the bowl season 2-0 vs. the SEC. W - No. 14. Arizona, No. 20. Oklahoma State, No. 25. Kansas State, West Virginia, Kansas, Texas Tech L - UCF, Utah Game Left - Iowa State vs. Memphis B12- You Are On Notice - Arizona is bringing more than a basketball team your way. ........................................................................................................................................................................... SEC - Because of the fact the SEC is good, plays 8 conference games, and is located in Dixie bowl territory, the SEC always plays in many bowl games with most bowls being meaningful games played late in bowl season. (Not as meaningful today, as once was the case, with many the player opting out.) Many bowl games are traditionally (and due to contractual agreement) played vs. B1G teams. To date, the SEC is 0-2 with A+M losing to No. 20. OK State and No. 12. Oklahoma taking the loss last night vs. No. 14 Arizona. Games Remaining - Kentucky vs. Clemson/ Auburn vs. Maryland/ Missouri vs. Ohio State/ Georgia vs. FSU/ LSU vs. Wisconsin/ Penn State vs. Ole Miss/ Texas vs. Washington/ and Alabama vs. Michigan. A whole lot of meat left on this Southern Fried chicken. ............................................................................................................................................................................ B1G recap - 5-0 to date with wins from UCLA, Northwestern, Minnesota, USC, and Rutgers. Like the SEC, the B1G plays a lot of late in the season bowl games. The only game left for the B1G not being played vs. an SEC opponent and shown above is No. 8 OREGON vs. No. 23 Liberty. The battle for Power Hegemony is ON! Go Ducks! Extinguish the Flames!
  12. Cancel the game and the 2 Off Weeks Do Not Change in 2024, a season where all G5/P4 schools have 2 Off Weeks. If the HA. series is canceled or moved to later years, Oregon would play 3 games, Idaho, Boise and OR ST in Corvallis. and not 4 games before the 1st Off Week, 9/21, the week before the first B1G game at UCLA. Beginning with UCLA, Oregon plays 8 straight weeks before being Off on 11/23 prior to the UW game. UW is also Off on 11/23. The way the calendar falls under the current scheduling format teams have 2 Off Weeks once every 5 seasons. This is one of the seasons. "Bye" is fine with me but these are not true Byes, they are Off Weeks. The 2024 top 4 seeded teams will have first round Byes, meeting the winners of the 4 first round games in the 2nd round. I apologize for the semantics.
  13. I think he fired himself, no? A bite of a rotten Apple was the best the man could do. If he'd had any influence, the B12 and not the Pac-12 would be gone and SC would be getting a bigger slice of a pie; a decent size pie with ESPN/FOX money going to the Pac - 18 or 20. Probably $40M a year per Pac-12 team and around $30M for the new B12 members. He had no more bona fides for the job than did Larry and he was reporting to same schmucks.
  14. Way To Go B1G! 5-0! 2 ACC pelts in the bag. 1-0 against New B12, MW champ, and MAC.
  15. 5-0! Way to go Rutgers. 1st win ever against Miami for Rutgers and Greg Schiano. Chianti and Lasagne on behalf of Tony and Family! (But don't drink or eat too much!)
  16. Cancel and play 12 games, no problem. This is the year, 1 out of 5, where all teams have 2 idle weeks. Cancellation of the Hawaii game will not affect the 2024 scheduled off weeks. One very early and one very late. Not playing Hawaii will have little impact on 2024 SOS. Playing in Corvallis instead of playing P4 Texas Tech in Autzen will affect the SOS.
  17. I'm SHOCKED! In fairness, how do incent guys playing ball in Miami to get fired up about a December game in NYC.
  18. Good call. FSU is hot and heavy after DJU and Cam Ward. And close to 20 Seminoles players will not be suiting up for the home state Orenge Bowl. Me? I would have showed up with all my teammates trying to defeat UGA and giving an in your faces to the Committee. But I'm an old guy without millions to lose if I'm injured. And with other portal QBs being signed while I practice for and play in a bowl. CFB has to do something in regard to the timing of early signing day, when players can enter the portal and the dates of post season games. As of today, December is a CFB fire drill.

  20. The so-clled Playoff has made bowl games other than the PO semis and champ game more or less meaningless. But you can bet that they are keeping track in SEC HQ in Birmingham and B1G HQ in Chicago. All hands are on deck for the Rose and Sugar Bowls. I expect with PO expansion in 2024 there will be few opt outs for the PO games.
  21. No key players for Louisville opted out of the game but it sure looked like they did. Is SMU odds on to win the ACC in 2024? Cal will not be in the running alond with their buddies Palo Alto.
  22. As Charles notes, the New Big is 4-0 to date with the B1G boy games vs. the SEC coming up. OO update - TN QB Joe Milton will not play vs, Iowa. Maryland QB Taulia Tagovailoa is out vs. Auburn which IMO tilts the outcome in the direction of the Tigers and not the Terps. Heisman winner Daniels is sitting out the game vs. Wisconsin but there is an experience and talented back up, Garrett Nussmeier (Gesundheit!) behind Daniels who will start vs. the Badgers. USC! A heck of a win last night that helped validate the PO Committee leaving FSU out of the Final 4. Louisville was the No. 15 team in the country? The 2nd best team in the ACC? The Trojans speed and athletic ability was obvious. And the SC D guys actually made open field tackles. Will Howard Who? Shut down the SC Portal QB search? All RS Soph Miller Moss did was go 23/33 for 372 yards and 6 TDs setting a Trojans and Holiday Bowl record on the way to leading Troy to its first bowl win since defeating Penn State in the 2016 Rose Bowl game. USC's 2024 schedule is ranked No. 2 in the nation by SP+. Nevertheless, if Riley can get the play out of his D like they played last night, SC will not be an easy out in 2024. Not only Caleb Williams opted out last night. USC was missing 6 other starters, but easily overcame the Louisville -7 odds to win the game. To date, the SEC is 0-1 with A+M's loss last night to OK. State. Another loss to a team with a lesser roster and to a team Texas beat up and beat down. The ACC to date is 3-4. W - Georgia Tech, Duke, Va Tech/ L - Syracuse, UNC, Cal, Louisville. One of ACC SMU and BC will come out with a loss today when they play in the Fenway Bowl. And I'm not certain FSU will have enough players available to field a team against Georgia in the Orange Bowl. Go Ducks! Extinguish the Flames! And GO all of Puddles B1G Brothers!
  23. Bowl game opt outs are getting hard to stomach SATURDAYBLITZ.COM One of the most common themes for bowl games this season, at least those outside of the College Football Playoff, are high-profile opt-outs. Many big-name coll
  24. This season among the Lefties, yes! And spot on. I think we are about to see how good the Pac-12 was in the Sugar Bowl. And 4-0 for the new B1G so far in bowl season, 2 Ws vs. P4 ACC and B12. Because of B1G bowl tie-ins the real B1G bowl games starts tomorrow. And OK ST beating A+M is nice, Right Paul? Diss Riley but the man had a bench-warmer ready to play. And lots of athletic talent was on the field for SC tonight. 3 terrific TD catches. But the SC run game was still MIA, Yet. a few guys showed up who could tackle.
  25. And the 'New' B1G goes 4-0 with upsets from Northwestern and SC. A come back by the Bruins and the Gophers TCB in Detroiy. Lots of games to go but the B1G is showing up. And Oregon ups recruiting like Urban did at tOSU and maybe the gap closes on the SEC? Come On UW (gulp) and Michigan. Go Ducks! Extinguish the Flames!
