  1. 1/1/24 - I'm cheering on a B1G Daily Double. Not sorry for this B1G post regurgiration. The whole CFB World will be watching.
  2. Atticus - meaning someone from Athens. So, kick the heck out of the Spartans and other 2024 opponents.
  3. Come On UW and Michigan. A daily New Year's Day double will help the SEC/ESPN love fest see chinks in the armor. Oregon is blessed heading into the Power 2 but will be more blest if Puddles flies into a national chamo conference.
  4. And he also likes an all B1G final which I want to see. Then, if you so understandably choose, root for Michigan. Me, I want a week plus of ESPN talking head talking up the B1G. And I want to close in on the SEC hegemony. I'm hoping that 1/1/24 will be a B1G Daily Double.
  5. Bruce Feldman's New Year's Six bowl picks against the spread THEATHLETIC.COM It's time to pick the winners of the national semifinals in the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl. Michigan or Bama? Texas or Washington? Bruce likes the Ducks!
  6. Tune in next season for a Ducks game against the Spartans. Heck of a 3-pete run that came up just short for the Dawgs. FSU next in the Orange Bowl. Will any FSU players be in Florida for the game? No. 5 vs. No. 6 and I'm not certain No. 5 will be able to field a team. Bring on the expanded PO and expand the field to 16 in 2026. Go Dawgs!
  7. BOWL UPDATE FOR THE 'NEW' B1G. 3-0 - UCLA over Boise/ NW over Utah/ Minnesota over BGSU. Ws vs. MW, B12, and MAC. The undefeated bowl streak could end tonigth when SC tees it up against No. 15 Louisville in San Diego, 5 PM Pacific on FOX.
  8. I Get A Kick Out Of You - TRAITOR!
  9. I definitely share in the sentiment. But in this day and age of CFB I am forced to sdmit that First I Look At The Purse. I want the ESecPN CFB hegemony brought to a halt and only 1 conference has a shot of doing this and it's not the ACC, B12, and the Pac-2. Ah-Choo! On 1/2/24, I want to see Paul crying in his grits.
  10. I hope the young enoys the MW and playing games on The Where Can I Find It Channel. And a huge NIL deal from The Peacock Bar and Grill will be nice. I want no player who wants to compete at this level and is afraid to challenge himself in the Power 4. Perhaps in a few years, OSU can play WSU 12x a season, call it the Same Old Stuff Pac-12 with a conference champ game in Jackpot, Nevada? Then sue the rest of CFB when the Committee doesn't respond to the SOS and does not come with a PO spot for the SOS. John Canzano for Commissioner assited by the Chief Justice of the Washington Supreme Court. After they blow through the money they stole, what's the game plan? "Boys, go downstairs and tidy up the basement."
  11. The Fiesta Bowl will be going against No.17 Iowa vs. No. 21 Tennessee on ABC and will draw a lot of B1G and SEC fans. Thank you Mickey Mouse. And thank you PO Committee for having the wrong G5 team in the PO. SOS matters when you are elbowing FSU out but not when you comapare the CUSA champ with AAC champ SMU.
  12. I do not think it will happen but I am hoping for an all B1G title game and a B1G win over the SEC and ESPN. A UW title would prop up Oregon and be great for the 'new' B1G. And be a great step toward an even B1gger TV deal in a few years. I do not see Harbaugh beating Saint Nick with a tradtional style O. I see Bama's QB, Milroe, as the kind of QB who could confound Michigan and I do not see the same out of McCarthy. My hope for Michigan was seeing all the rush yards that Auburn, a team with a lower level QB, put up in the Iron Bowl. I do see UW and DeBoer taking down Texas in a combative game. I think the UW OL will hold up against the pass rush and UW will exploit UT's good not great DBs. Having a healthy J. McMillian back with Penix throwing the ball gives UW the best passing attack in CFB. In early odds, Bama would open at -2.5 to -4 vs UW. I see Saint Nick bringing home another trophy.
  13. No. There is a Power 2. A Lesser 2. Notre Dame and everyone else. The Pac-2 is paying money to the MW for football games, without a chance to compete for a MW title, and is in the WCC for other sports. The WCC is Gonzaga and a bunch of 'Others.' These 2 will drop further off of the nation's radar and when the money they purloined runs out they will be right down there with San Jose State. The two had one-sixth of the conference voting power when the conference crashed and burned. Anyone remember these 2 making a stink about one bad business decision after the other. You reap what you sow, especially in the world of capitalism. The marketplace told these two undercapitalized and poor performing entities to get lost. If the 2 dropped football would anyone outside of Pullman and Corvallis notice?
  14. "The idiot who EMPLOYEES him?' Foot, meet bullet.
  15. OT - But The Hits Just Keep On Coming in Seminole Country. This kid is missing the chance to audition vs. Georgia. Either a very smart or very stupid on the part of his agent. FSU's Rodemaker entering portal, won't play in Orange Bowl THEATHLETIC.COM The redshirt junior took over as the Seminoles' starter after Jordan Travis suffered a season-ending left leg injury. Didn't the Orange Bowl, especially it being a game played in Florida, used to mean something? Can we please just skip to 2026, and a 16-team PO field with the first 2 rounds played on campus and 4 bowl games players will suit up for? You have a chance to put it in the face of the PO Ct against SEC UGA and you leave your teammates in the lurch? SMH. This is not a guy risking an injury that will derail his going in the first 2 rounds of the NFL draft. Man, this Stuff keeps getting more difficult for an old-timer to understand.
  16. What about the game vs. UCLA the following week? Is it on? Cynic alert. This sounds like a veiled plea for money. I can't imagine (well, maybe I can?) Rob not building in a cancellation payment for a cancellation with so little notice. Before they became B1G buddies, Ohio State paid UW $500K to cancel an H+H series. This left an opening for UW to schedule the court-chicanery Cougars. Unless UH decides to go the way of U Chicago, I wouldn't cancel any travel plans. Not too long ago UH played in the Sugar Bowl behind current HC, OB Timmy Chang. Chang is in the bottom rung of G5/P4 HC salaries at $600,006.00 a year.
  17. This will be rectified on 7/7/24 in Autzen. (Unless Rob gets the Blues and decides to move the game to Boise.)
  18. Thank you, David. This game is, by far, the biggest game in Liberty's history. CUSA is not just G5, it is on the lowest rung of the G5. Below even the MAC. AAC champ 10-2 SMU played a far harder schedule than Liberty and its fans were not happy that 13-0 Liberty was ranked No. 23 and ahead of The Ponies. SMU fans on the way to the ACC would have brought more fans from Dallas to Glendale than will be coming from Lynchburg, VA. The Fiesta got the G5 end of the stick in the last season of the 4-Team Invitational. I find it interesting that the PO CT used SOS to justify leaving 13-0 FSU out of the field and paid zero attention to SOS when it came time to determine the NY6 G5 representative. The Fiesta Bowl will host a 2nd round PO game in 2024 which game will be sold out and which will be a game of interest. The bowl opt-outs for Liberty are for the most part on the D-side of the ball where Liberty was average in 2023. Both starting safeties are in the portal with one transferring to CU and the other to San Jose State. On O, all hands appear to be on deck for HC Jamey Chadwell who has put up a perfect season after coming to Liberty from Coastal Carolina. Chadwell has a terrific dual-threat QB in Kadon Slaughter who transferred to Liberty after being dismissed from Tennessee following a second arrest. In 2023, the QB from Cedar Hill, TX, threw for 2750 yds, 31 TDs, 5 Ints, QBR of 85.8. Slaughter ran 153 times for 1064 yards, a 7-yard average per carry, and 12 TDs. He is no joke. Slaughter has help from RB Quinton Cooley. In 2022 in his 3rd season at Wake Forest, Cooley put up 246 yards. In 2023 after transferring in, Cooley put up 1322 rush yards on 213 attempts (6.2 average) and 16 TDs at Liberty. In the CUSA title game vs. New Mexico State, Liberty won 49-35, Slater went 20-25 319 yards. NMSU shortly before the champ game. defeated Auburn in Alabama but the same NMSU team was blown out by Fresno State in its 2023 bowl game. Chadwell's offense is referred to as the 'Pseudo Option.' A triple option with a verticle passing game and I think Liberty will score on a Ducks' D missing several 2023 starters. The Liberty O in 2023 led the nation in rushing. Slater and Coolley were first-team CUSA and Chadwell was CUSA's co-COY. Will the Liberty D be able to shut down the Bo O? Bucky Irving is suiting up. Troy Franklin is not suiting up. I think we'll see lots of fireworks on O with the most fired-up Flames having a puncher's chance to overcome the +17 spread, Go Ducks! Extinguish the Flames!
  19. How about Seven, 7!, HS recruits signed in the 2024 class Neon? You don't need receipts for the IRS when you recruit like this. Buff, do we have anything revenue-wise to write off? CU later and have fun in the P4-2 along with your Pac-2 buddies. These 2 will undoubtedly create a Power conference. Right, Canzano? There is illusion and then there is delusion. De-Nile is not a river in Africa. AFLAC!
  20. DG won't help OREGON? Silent Night, Holy Night. Boomer, your bed is pulled down and your room is ready.
  21. Grandpa, love you Man but I see it not as a fiasco but as a bridge to a 16-team PO that will have a true PO field. Of course, teams 17, 18, and 19 will be whining. The same thing happens with teams 69-72 in the CBB PO. Looking forward to your take my friend. 1868? Was Charles in the booth? Next to Abner Doubleday?
  22. Sigh and why play all of these games? A 'real' PO will put the best players on the field. And an even better PO come 2026 will provide broadcast competition beyond ESPN and likely, a deserved slice of the PO pie for the players. A true PO is coming with 2024/25 being a bridge to a more inclusive and better PO.
  23. 1Ducker1, thank you for the Kudos and the comment. Bowls? I don't know. If you had 12 bowls involved in a 24-team PO that would be splitting money with the bowls. And if use the bowls, this would be penalizing teams from the West and the Midwest. 24 makes sense for FSU but this would be a lot of games before the title game for teams that have played big-boy schedules. I like 16 and I do not believe that a team with a legitimate shot to win the title would be out. And with 24 teams, a lot of lesser opponents would give the top-seeded teams close to a 1st round bye. Like, Liberty at Michigan on steroids. I would prefer that the first two rounds be played on the field of the higher-seeded teams. Reward the home fans without making them travel hither and yon for the opening and quarter-final rounds. If the weather is a concern in the Midwest, use closed stadiums, Detroit, Indianapolis, and Minneapolis for the 1st 2 rounds. Again, everything possible not to share money with the bowls. Money that one way or another will likely be shared with the players. Of course, I would have no problem with a replay of the Cowboys/Packers Ice Bowl. Get at least a few of the southern teams out of Dixie where the majority of the 2024/25 games will be played. In 2024, Oregon could qualify for a home game and a first-round bye but could also be playing an opening game down south followed by a quarter-final Peach Bowl, a semifinal game in the Cotton or Orange Bowl, and the champ game in Atlanta. Game locations have to be fairer across the board for teams and played outside of the South to have an even chance at the title. Thanks again for your thoughts and kind comments.
  24. Great take Micro. FSU's media deal that it signed onto willingly ends in 2036. The Pac-12 deal ends in 2024. No Pac-12 team jumped ship early and no Pac-10 teams should be paying a non-existent exit fee.
