  1. Tanx four da pose.
  2. Trailer? Just pray that a tornado doesn't come through Lubbock. If one does, DUCK!
  3. Good take. In fairness, Ohio State scheduled an H+H with Oregon. The game at Autzen was COVID out. Auburn plays at Cal on Saturday night. AZ plays a return game at MS ST. Bama plays at Wisconsin next season in the first game of an H+H series. LSU opens against USC in Las Vegas to open the 2024 season and plays a return game vs. UCLA in Baton Rogue. UGA - 2024 Clemson in ATL/ 2025 open at UCLA with the return game in 2026/ 27- 28 H+H with FSU/ 29 - 30 H+H with Clemson/ 30 - 31 H+H with Ohio State. Compare these games to future Oregon OOC scheduled games. The OOC games vs. Ohio State and Michigan State, if played when scheduled will be conference games. Oregon is left with TX Tech, OK ST, Baylor, Hawaii, Boise State, Utah State, and other G5 opponents, including games at Boise and Logan, Utah!
  4. 1 reason to go Down Under on a lot of bets.
  5. You can talk the talk if you walk the walk. So far, Deion has done so in his college and NFL playing days and as a head coach. One of the greatest sports achievements I have witnessed was Deion hitting a home run on Saturday for the Braves and scoring on a pick on Sunday for the Cowboys. The man won 2 Super Bowls and played in a World Series. To me, Brent Yormack is a carnival barker. Deion delivers.
  6. Great post. But a word of caution. TT was 6-1 in Lubbock last season with wins over Oklahoma and Texas. TT has won its home opener 23 seasons in a row. Great article by Charles and I cop to overreacting to the absence of sacks and few TFL against PSU. Have to disrupt Shough by getting pressures on dropbacks as did an undersized Wyo D in Laramie. Shough is not a guy who will beat you running the ball. Can't wait for this game and those in attendance, watch out for flying tortillas.
  7. My job in the B + W days was getting up to rotate the rabbit ears. Dad left it up to me and not the Beaver.
  8. Tickets on the secondary market are selling for more in Boulder than in Tuscaloosa. Take that Saint Nick!
  9. I'm hopeful this happens. I have the Over 57.5.
  10. With the $ and the publicity he is bringing in for CU, I expect Deion will get a pay bump at year's end. Especially if CU goes bowling which is doable if the Buffs defeat old Big 8 foe Nebraska on Saturday. I think both Deion and his 2 sons will be in Boulder for at least one more season. He has indicated that he has no interest in coaching in the NFL. With his blood cancer issues does he want the SEC pressure cooker scene? He has a great place to recruit. Boulder is beautiful and the campus is beautiful. An AAU member school that relaxed transfer credit acceptability for Sanders. The fruit of this decision is showing on the field of play. Norvell? He has it cooking at FSU at a time when it looks like Clemson may be on the decline. He'll probably end up in the SEC only because FSU is a logical choice for SEC expansion. FSU has big boosters. Consider what it cost to get rid of Slick. The boosters will open the wallet for a coach on the verge of returning FSU to the halcyon days of Bobby Bowden and the teams Deion played on.
  11. Love the comment. But the B1G and the Bay Area? I believe the B1G/Fox passed. Not Fox when it comes to the NFL. You can call me Don, or you can call me Juan, as long as the Ducks win, it's all good. As to any kind of math, I feel your pain.
  12. 4 score minus 4- years I arrived in this mortal coil. (Sorry, Abe.) Born in Toledo, Ohio in the same hospital where Urban Meyer and Jim Harbough later arrived. This is my football claim to fame other than making 2nd team All-New England back before the WW Web in 1966, where I was listed in The Boston Globe as 'Don' Joseph. (Don Juan, although not fitting, would have been OK.) Fame is fleeting. With the last roundup on the horizon, I am focused on 2023, with good reason, and not looking ahead. But the latest Week 1 AP Poll has me fired up! 2024 - New SEC - 8 teams ranked - 1. Georgia/ 3. Alabama/ 9. Tennessee/ 11. Texas/ 14. LSU/ 18. Oklahoma/ 20. Ole Miss/ 23. Texas A+M Total ranking # - 99 Divided by 8 (thank goodness for calculators) = 12.37 average ranking. 2024 - New B1G - 7 teams ranked - 2. Michigan/ 5. Ohio State/ 6. USC/ 7. Penn State/ 8. Washington/ 13. Oregon/ 19. Wisconsin Total ranking # - 60 Divided by 7 = 8.57 Go Ducks! Beat TT! But playing it forward, there is no doubt that the 2024 B1G newbies (add on #27, UCLA to arrive at 8 future ranked B1G teams and you have 87 Divided by 8 = average ranking 10.87) will have an impact in the B1G (18.). An immediate impact. Carried forward it will be a new rankings day and the 2023 Week 1 rankings certainly do not ensure that the 2024 B1G will begin winning Playoff titles. But there is no doubt the 4 Pac-12 newbies will invigorate the B1G and the idea that any of the four will struggle to find the same success the teams found in the Pac-12 in the B1G is senseless. Puddles, how about flocking East with a Final 4 appearance in hand? Nested in the first Final 4, why not the final Final 4?
  13. Every day the game is getting closer. Will Puddles be on a pushup roller coaster? A cover for me will surely (?) come my way.
  14. ASU covers +3.5. I don't see it. BTW, it is not chilly this time of year in Stillwater, OK. I'd love to see Wazzu win but the Dairy Raid morphed back into the Wisky Run last Saturday and I don't see WSU being able to stop the run. Speaking of run games, I do think that Cal has a run game that will allow the Golden Bears to cover the +6.5. I agree CU covers. How about this! CU/Nebraska tickets are going for more $ than Bama/TX tickets! I guess 10 a.m. in Boulder is Prime Time!
  15. 182 a piece. I'd need 20 of me to come close to 182!
  16. This is getting off on the wrong foot.
  17. Better than my old coach who used to tell me that my play warranted me being thrown into a fire.
  18. 1. Best part of the game, Charles was able to attend in person. (Did Marsh go Joey Chestnut on the hot dog front?) 2. It is cruel but not unusual, to make an old guy wait until Thursday for your insights. 3. Iowa Sports Book - With the Cyhawk game (Iowa vs. Iowa State) on deck and several players from both teams benched for (OH NO, Say It Ain't So!) gambling, this article's choice of sports books is indeed ironic. 4. Substitutions. Great pondering points regarding this issue. But was some of this due to the opponent being less talented than the guys we saw on the field in the Spring Game? Will the game in Lubbock be the Big Reveal of what we will see for the rest of the season? 5. Depth. You know it. What Blue Chip rosters are all about. Recruiting under DL and portal-plucking, to date, has been great. But with a B1G bump can Oregon close on Bama, UGA, and Ohio State? With the playoff expanding next season, roster depth will be even more critical. Thanks, Charles and Puddles, TCB in the Lone Star state.
  19. Pass D is to me is the big question. Especially with Williams dinged up and Jenkins also not likely to play and help out with pass coverage. (I hope we are not seeing a repeat of Jenkins being dinged up at Iowa.) Will we see the DL making Shough uncomfortable? I appreciate Hayward's comment but sacks are momentum changers and the best way, after turnovers, to get an offense off-rhythm. The first game vs. the varsity, on the road and in a very tough place to play. One of 7 Pac-12 vs. Power 5 games on Saturday that will test the Week 1 perfect results.
  20. Oregon vs. Texas Tech Prediction, Odds, Trends, Key Players, College Football Week 2 FANSIDED.COM Two teams that had very different Week 1's meet in a massive non conference matchup in Lubbock, Texas. Texas Tech was stunned on the road against Wyoming as tw
  21. Private school with its stadium @30 miles north through heavy traffic. This, IMO is why the expansion musical chair will be pulled out from under the U. Living off the past. 1. Notre Dame 2. Texas 3. Miami 4. USC
  22. What happens when you tap the portal? FSU wins. Clemson fumbles, bumbles, and stumbles and face plants on Chaple Hill.
