  1. The Game is Afoot! Who knew that Professor Moriarty was a CFB fan and journalist? I guess the good Professor does not stay up late. He missed the Arizona and Cal scores.
  2. I hope DL called this out to the Pac-12 refs doing the game; the D mimicking snap calls is supposed to be a penalty. I thought DL's comment here was a bit lame.
  3. Great take. But Bama is 1-1 with a blowout of a junior varsity team and a home loss to the 1 P5 opponent it has played. Bama is ranked in the top 10. Why? It's Bama. The Pac-12, 6-3 vs. P5 opponents OOC, deserves all 8 rankings. The pollsters responded correctly moving #23 Wazzu into the Top 25 after a convincing win over previously ranked, #19 Wisconsin. Arguably, both #18 CU and #12 Utah with 2 P5 wins, one win for each coming on the road, should be ranked higher. Oregon #13 and Wazzu #23 both have P5 wins. #5 USC, #8 UW, #16 Oregon State, and #24 UCLA do not yet have a P5 win. Of these 4, only UW, at Michigan State, will play a P5 team before conference play begins. (You think that CU today is happy to see Mel Tucker gone and Prime Time in Boulder?)
  4. 2023 College Football Bowl Predictions - NCAA Bowl Game Projections - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM CBS Sports bowl expert Jerry Palm picks the teams he feels will comprise the National Semi-final at the end of the season along with bowl projections for every single game.
  5. Jon Wiler confirms it! 8 Pac-12 teams ranked in the AP Poll is a record accomplished before only by the SEC. Using the AP Poll and projecting Oregon State to be in the Mountain West this would be the 2024 playoff field using the top 5 conference champs and 7 at-large (AL) teams in the field. Staying with the top 4 conference champs having a 1st round bye. 1. Georgia - SEC vs. 9. Washington - AL at 8. Penn State - AL 2. Michigan - B1G vs. 10. Notre Dame - AL at 7. Ohio State - AL 3. FSU - ACC vs. 11. Alabama - AL at 6. USC - AL 4. Utah - B12 vs. 12. Oregon State (MW) at 5. Texas - AL 5 B1G/ 3 SEC/ 1 B12/ 1 ACC/ 1 Independent/ 1 Mountain West Note - UW at PSU and ND at tOSU might have to be relocated to an indoor facility. Otherwise, both games could be a literal White Out.
  6. My bad. I intended to refer to Gauguin who at age 43, in 1891, relocated to Tahiti and never looked back. I have been blessed to have visited Tahiti. But without PK's $, I could not stay as long as I would have liked. Tahiti is yet another location where I played bad golf in a beautiful place.
  7. 6 out of the next 10 games will be played against Week 2 Top 25 ranked teams. I love your post and thanks for coming on board but I do not see Oregon 'being killed' in any future games. I see a bunch of hotly contested games against quality teams. Texas Tech was the Ducks first 2023 game vs. the Varsity. PSU was fun but it was a mega-cupcake game. I think that Oregon with superb experience and leadership at the critical QB position will continue to improve and the Aloha break gives the team a great shot to get its Sierra together. TT was the true 1st game of the season for Oregon. Oregon ended TT's 23-first opening-game win streak. I think that Utah and UW on the road will not be more difficult than playing in Lubbock in brutal heat. Concerns? Of course. But it's CFB and no school or program, right Bama, is bulletproof. FWIW, I'm upping my prediction from 10-2 to 11-1 with a lot of 'hairy' games on the way.
  8. Amazing! In 6 out of 10 remaining regular season games, the Ducks play ranked football teams. Move over SEC. How about a reevaluation in regards to the Ducks SOS? And I think that Texas Tech will win a bunch of football games.
  9. All I know is that Jeff Bossa did not go down and I scored a daily double all around. Hats off to you Desert Duck!
  10. Friend, Mike West. Thank goodness Jeff Bassa did not take a knee or it would have been a Week 2 shutout for me! Your opinions are golden but to 4 TOs I am beholden. Puddles escaped Texas bruised but intact. Is there any reason to go to Oklahoma and Lone Star back? I'd rather have a G5 home game snack
  11. If I was PK, I'd be on a beach on a private island somewhere near Gaughan territory. And watching Ducks games via satellite on Paradise TV. Oh, and you can throw in my own 9-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course where everyone forgets how to keep score but, or because, there is a 'halfway house' after every hole. And, I'd go Shoeless.
  12. It is coincidental is it not that with the Fed raising rates, Mel's 2 sugar daddy's mortgage finance company is taking a bath I in no way, shape, or form intend to diminish the claims, if justified, lodged against the man. But there are any number of ways you can escape a deal that was senseless to begin with. Today? CU is happy that Mel is gone.
  13. Smart. But in today's world of Hive Mind (unsocial) media? Sayonara, Adios, Alveterzane, Ciao, Kaput. Get the Tuck out of town.
  14. Based on Week 2 AP Rankings ( two-thirds of the Pac-12 ranked!) and assuming the Pac-2 teams go to the Mountain West (MW) and do not rack up more billable hours, this is what 5 champs in, 4 highest ranked conference champs with a 1st round bye would look like come 2024. 1. Georgia - SEC vs. 9. UW at 8. Penn State 2. Michigan - B1G vs. 10. Notre Dame at 7. Ohio State 3. FSU - ACC vs. 11. Alabama at 6. USC 4. Utah - B12 vs. 12. Oregon State - Mountain West at 5. Texas 5 B1G/ 3 SEC/ 1 ACC/ 1 Independent/ 1 B12/ 1 Mountain West.
  15. Holy Peacock! Sparty just saved $70M in ridiculous coaching salary payments!
  16. This is something I NEVER heard in high school!
  17. If only I could be more clever with my bets!
  18. EIGHT, 8, OCHO, Pac-12 teams ranked in the Week 2 AP Poll! This has to be a record. And this conference is breaking up with 16. OR ST, and 23. Wazzu being left behind in the G5? NO Easy Day in this conference.
  19. And also made for many Pepto Bismal and Stoli cocktails!
  20. Like the monsters in horror films, the Pac-12 zombies keep coming after you. The conference was 18-0 before Arizona dropped a tough game in OT against Mississippi State. The SEC to date is 3-6 versus the Power 5 (Mari(o,) is that you?) while the on its way out Pac-12 is 6-3 versus the varsity and has yet to suffer a loss to a G5 opponent. And yesterday, both the Arizona and Cal games vs. the SEC could have easily gone the other way. How did this conference's "leaders (?)" screw this up? 1-1 Arizona - 24 at Mississippi State - 31. The Wildcats came to play in Starkvegas. But in the end, QB de Laura lost his NIL wages. 1-1 ASU - 15 vs. Oklahoma State - 27. Dilly's O dallied in the quest for win #2. Florida boosters not coming up with the cash for Rash is a decision they eschew. 1-1 Cal - 10 vs. Auburn - 14. Jaydn, you Ott not to pregame talk. Justin could have put the Freeze on his hot seat, but raspberries and not strawberries on O said, 'It's not to be.' 2-0 Colorado - 36 vs. Nebraska - 14. Prime, Ralphie, and CU Rhuled. Will 3-0 Prime and Sons come to Autzen to be schooled? 2-0 - Oregon State - 55 vs. UC Davis - 7. UC Davis. I C OOC scheduling that made Fox nervous. 2-0 UCLA - 30 - San Diego State - 10. The Bruins tripped south to San Diego City. Dante's Chip's man, Moore's the pity. 3-0 - USC - 56 vs. Stanford - 10. How do you chop down a Tree? Hand Caleb the Axe and it's easy as can be. 2-0 - Utah - 20 at Baylor - 13 - Utah wins Bearly. But fairly? 2-0 - Washington 2-0 - 45 vs. Tulsa - 10 - Penix and DeBoer are passing fancy. Scheduling a December trip to NYC is not all that chancey. 2-0 - Washington State - 31 vs. Wisconsin - 22 - Cam's effort to Ward off Bucky was far from Fickell. The Badgers return to Mad City for brats, beers, and sour pickles. 2- 0 - OREGON - HUZZAH! - 38 at Texas Tech - 30. Parking Puddles in a trailer was downright rude. The Red Raiders' 23 first-game home winning streak is bid adieu. Puddles won the game in Texas. With fewer than 546 flexes. Until next week, Aloha!
  21. How about this, sports fans? SEC vs. P5 OOC 3-6 (and the AZ/Cal games could have easily gone the other way.) Pac-12 vs. P5 OOC is 6-3. The SEC better not be getting its usual playoff rankings bump in 2023. And the QB play in the Pac-12? Off the charts.
  22. Coach Charles and Coach Boles. Please help out a guy who isn't in your league when it comes to Xs and Os. Is this D too difficult to be played by mere mortals? Want to watch Georgia players play D, tune into the NFL today. I think the entire Philadelphia D prepped in Athens. And even with a plethora of future pros on the field, The UGA D gave up a lot of points to Lincoln Riley and OK in the Rose Bowl. Allowed a Bama receiver to get deep for Tua's champ game walk-off winning throw. Had the game in hand but surrendered a lot of points to LSU in the 2022 SEC champ game. Was lit up by Ohio State last season and was fortunate that a key Ohio State WR went down. In my less than expert opinion it seems to me that there is a serious lack of communication in the Oregon back 7. I am confused about the role the DL is supposed to play. Aggressive? Passive? Passive-Agressive? The inability to slow down a Beavers O that could not pass the ball last season still rankles. Oregon's roster thanks to the recruiting and astute portal picking by DL and staff is getting there roster-wise but isn't close to the talent that UGA fields. Would Oregon be better off with a KISS philosophy on D? One that allows the players to be more instinctual and less concerned about being in the proper spot? Great gutty win last night but it is not that often that you are going to be +4 in TOs (tortillas?) on the road against a quality opponent. I am very happy with the win and DL's 14-3 record to date but it seems to me, again I am no expert, that something is missing; that the physical talents of the players on D are not being allowed to show up on the field. Thankfully, Oregon has an Aloha week to improve before the Deion and Son air aerial circus comes to town.
  23. 14 Penalties. 14! 2022-like inability to get off of the field on 3rd down. BUT, one hell of a gutty comeback against a team that had won 23 home openers in a row. The pass D, especially in this conference, best improve before Prime and Sons' trip to Autzen in Week 4. Too bad Game Day is in Boulder for the CO. ST. game. Week 4 would have been perfect for a visit to Autzen. Charles is spot on. Never A Doubt!
  24. HUZZAH! A double Ducks dip. The cover and the over. Never a doubt!
  25. Warm? Mic, did you bear arms in Desert Storm, where 130 degrees was the norm?
