  1. Mike, always great to get your thoughts. Michigan - I think the D especially the DL, will be terrific. But the offense? I expect Moore to continue with the approach of playing great D and running the ball. The OL is a complete rebuild. Orji and Warren both looked OK at QB but I do not believe either guy can win games throwing the ball. And compared to 2023, the schedule OCC and in-conference ramps up in 2024. I think 9-3 is this season's high-water mark for the Wolverines. Ohio State - Agree with you, the Buckeyes D will be awesome. Only 4 Ohio State guys were picked in the draft. Why? Because Harrison was the only highly touted draft-eligible player to say goodbye to Columbus. 9 players return for a Buckeyes D that was terrific last season and with the addition of Caleb Downs from Bama, will be better this season; especially, with the easiest schedule among B1G title contenders. Ohio State is a lock to be undefeated when the team visits Autzen on 10/12. MIZZOU - The 16th out of 16 teams easiest schedule in the SEC. Will Mizzou go 10-2 and make the Playoff or 9-3 and be on the cusp? QB and one of the best WR's back but the D was hit hard by the draft and the DC leaving for LSU. Auburn - With Michigan State transfer Thorne the presumed starter at QB I do not see a lot of room for improvement. Surprising that Freeze has not been able to upgrade the position. Texas - I need to see it before I believe the Longhorns lofty preseason ranking. Texas lost a lot of studs to the NFL. Will 2023's close wins in the B12 be wins in the SEC? I think Georgia will defeat Texas in Austin and also defeat Alabama without Saint Nick whom Kirby defeated once in 5 tries, on the sideline. Let's Get It On!
  2. Fun scrimmage but with split squads how do you truly judge anything including the terrific D line play against two make-shift O lines? The best news. Over 40,000 in attendance; hats off to the OBD fans. No one was seriously injured. All of the dinged players are expected back for fall (summer) practice. A good time was had by all including the fans who stayed for a postgame concert. Another classy Ducks move. Moga? My goodness, he is FAST! He almost beat Cobbins to the end zone. At first, I wondered which of the DBs had this kind of speed before realizing that the guy closest to Cobbins was Moga. A lot of fun and it was great to see every player who dressed get reps.
  3. Denver receives an A- grade and is not roasted for taking Bo at 12 by people who watch every play by every player. 5. The B1G's Saturday Tradition site like the B1g Ten Network is including the new West Coast member teams in its coverage of the B1G. Filthy rich: How much money every 2024 B1G first-round draft pick will make SATURDAYTRADITION.COM The Big Ten produced a strong group of first-round picks. Here's how much those players are set to make in the NFL.
  6. Not B1G but of interest to OBD members, I think. RB Martinez as I expected has joined the Mari(o) crew. Will Pac-2 transfers at QB and at RB lead the way into the 12-team playoff field? I wouldn't bet on it. https://athlonsports.com/college/miami-hurricanes/inside-hurricanes/football/four-ways-former-oregon-state-beavers-running-back-helps-the-miami-hurricanes-

  11. A typical critique of Denver and Bo. Bo, please shut these folks up! Five teams that botched the 2024 NFL Draft WWW.YARDBARKER.COM By in large, the NFL Draft is a crap shoot. Considering those circumstances, it might sound harsh to judge a team's draft mere hours after its conclusion. However, sometimes, it's too hard to... What did McCarthy for example, do that Bo did not do? Hand the ball off better? I think and hope that we are seeing Herbert-McShade redux. One player always comes out of the draft as a punching bag for 'journalists.' This time it was a Heisman Trophy finalist. I did not see McCarthy at the Heisman Trophy presentation. Did you?

  14. At least one guy (hopefully) gets it. NFL Exec Reveals Massive Prediction For Broncos’ Bo Nix WWW.YARDBARKER.COM The Denver Broncos were one of the teams who got in on the historic quarterback run to start the 2024 NFL Draft. 15. 2024 draft final number of picks. New SEC - 73 - Texas 11/ Oklahoma 3. Does Sark have the roster strength and the coaching chops to replace 11 players and justify the preseason ranking at No. 2, 3, or 4? This has to be close to an all-time low for Oklahoma. Oklahoma will be preseason ranked around No. 12 but looking at the schedule, Oklahoma may be fortunate to finish in the top 20. New B1G - 70 - Michigan with 13 picks did not take the single draft record, 15 picks, from Georgia. UW 10 - one reason along with $10.5M a year why DeBoer left Seattle/ Oregon 9 with a 4th-round surge/ USC 7/ UCLA 2. Between the Power 2, 55% of the players drafted in 2024. The B1G and SEC, playoff payouts are well-earned; especially, when you add the playoff appearances by the Power 2. 12 for the SEC, and 9 for the B1G in 10 playoff seasons. The ACC is well represented only because of Clemson. B12 draft results - 31, with 17 from Texas and Oklahoma. ACC draft results - 41, with 16 coming from the two schools litigating with the conference, Clemson and FSU. I did not include the New B12 and ACC teams. The inclusion of the New ACC's Cal, Stanford, and SMU, and the New B12's 4 corner schools addition, would not make a significant difference to the totals. Clemson and FSU escape from the ACC and join the SEC, and Notre Dame and UNC, for example, join the B1G, why not a World Series playoff between the Power 2? How much value would other programs add?
  16. To date, the New B1G has 45 players drafted (7 OR + UW, 3 SC, 1 UCLA) and the New Big has 39 including six from Texas and one from Oklahoma. After seven rounds, the New B1G should finish No. 1. Ranking 2024 NFL Draft Picks By Conference COLLEGEFOOTBALLNETWORK.COM The 2024 NFL Draft will see 257 athletes find a new home at the professional level, but which conferences were the most prolific at producing next-level talent?
  17. Add 13 New B1G team picks and the B1G leads the SEC in total picks with more picks to come. 2024 NFL Draft picks by college team, school: SEC still leading the way, Michigan rises behind strong Day 2 - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM The Wolverines have seven draft picks during the first two days of the 2024 NFL Draft Spread the word to Cyclops, CBS is now a B1G and not an SEC broadcast partner.
  18. The BTN did a terrific job of previewing the Spring Game the past week. Jake Butt, All- American TE at Michigan and a guy who played in the NFL, believes that Oregon is the only B1G team that will pose a threat to Ohio State in 2024. Moving from the Pac-12 Network to the Big Ten Network is like moving up from Single-A to The Show. 50 million plus fans subscribe to BTN.

  20. Owning the 4th round is nice. However, Bama had 7 guys drafted in the 1st 2 rounds. This is the standard Danno is trying to duplicate along with UGA's having 15 players chosen in the 2022 draft. Will Michigan eclipse this number in 2024? On the other hand, producing numerous and 2nd round draft choices means you better have a deep roster, like Bama and UGA, to be in title contention the following season. Michigan paid the experienced guys who could have gone pro to stay and play in Ann Arbor in 2023-24. Ohio State would have had six additional first-round or high 2nd round picks this year but instead, opened up the NIL wallet. Michigan has to rebuild its entire offense in 2024. High school recruiting matters but experience also matters. Whether it is guys you re-recruited to stick around or experienced players from the portal. As Charles has noted, look at the projected 2024 starters for Oregon on both sides of the ball and where would the Ducks be without the portal? I guess that this question should be asked of Jedd Fisch in Seattle.
  21. Falcons fan? So you're The Guy? Kidding. But I don't get paying Kirk Cousins an absurd amount of money and then drafting Penix No. 8. Then again, I'm not the guy who founded and flipped Home Depot for billions of dollars. Your Dawgs have a backup QB for stud Carson Beck. I hope it wasn't a Rash decision? But I'd like to have Rashada's Frequent Transfer MIles. Best to Georgia in 2024. Rematch with Ducks in Atlanta would be nice.
  22. It isn't an exact corollary, of course, but I would not mind being the 102nd, Troy Franklin, 108th, Khyree Jackson, 109th, Brandon Dorlus, 111th, Evan Williams, or 125th, Bucky Irving, best player in college football. Look at the stats over the years and 1st round picks do get re-upped more than players drafted in later rounds but not by much. So happy that Troy is together again with Bo. McCaffery who went ahead of Troy has the name but not the talent. Playing in an easily adaptable system in Denver should be a great fit. Bo being the QB red-headed stepchild of this draft will just motivate him to excel. Mel Kiper said that with 61 starts Bo does not have much upside. This is from the guy who bemoans players leaving college too early and not having enough experience. I have flushed the ESPN coverage in favor of the NFL Network and fewer knee-jerk commentators. I like the fit for all of Oregon's 4th round draft picks except for Brandon Dorlus headed to the dysfunctional Falcons. It is NFL hell in Aiken. SC with Atlanta and Charlotte being the 'hometown' teams with tripe broadcast into your home every Sunday. I guess it could be worse. I could live in Dallas. Echoing Charles's take on the effect NIL has had on CFB and the draft, The Mercury News (paywall) today quoted Niners GM, John Lynch: NIL convinced 83 players who would have been on the Niners draft board to play another season in college. Go DUCKS!
  23. Great thought. He has a chance to start at guard.
  24. I apologize for not being able to read the roster's fine print. How were the teams divided? By draft or otherwise. Thank you. What happened to the DB transferring in from Duke?
