  1. No matter the alternative escaping from Larry's Loser Network will be a boon. Games that kick off at 10:30 and even 7:30 Eastern time on the network: If a tree falls in the forest ...
  2. Colorado AD Rich George recently pledged allegiance to the Pac. However, when it comes to geography the B12 would make sense for CU. BTW - CU does play Nebraska OOC this season but Nebraska is in the B1G (only non-AAU accredited B1G member school) and not the B12. Of course, CU used to play ball in the B12. Along with Nebraska, Missouri, and Texas A+M. Nest season add Oklahoma and Texas to the list. The more GK fiddles the more the Pac-10 is at risk of burning down. Will the B1G come with a discounted offer for Oregon and Washington? Perhaps, but the B1G and Fox will not add more teams from the Pac-12 before knowing what the new Pac-10 media deal bottom line is. The B1G is not going to arrive at a number without first knowing the number for Oregon and Washington. The only no-brainer addition for the B1G is Notre Dame. I'm almost certain that USC and UCLA, especially UCLA facing a 'CAL tax' would prefer to see CAL and Stanford going B1G instead of more competitive in football Oregon and UW. I believe Oregon and UW would be welcome by the B12 but who wants to go there? I doubt the Arizona legislature would allow 1 Arizona school to flip without the other. I know Utah wants to stay with the Pac-10. CU is already a tier above CO.ST. and would have no issues with the CO. legislature flipping to the B12. The Pac-10 could replace CU with San Diego State and not miss a beat.
  3. Some love for the Oregon State Beavers and the Texas Red Raiders. College Football Playoff dark horse contenders: Wisconsin, Auburn among teams to watch in 2023 season - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Several teams will be vying to follow in TCU's footsteps as an unlikely playoff contender this college football season
  4. There are 432 D3 programs playing college football. The majority do not want to see the game shortened, they want to keep in place the stop-the-clock after 1st down rule. Does little old D3 have the power to stop the change in clock timing rules? Does the Bowdoin College Polar Bear speak? Angst increasing over college football clock stoppage rule creating inequity across NCAA divisions - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Cutting plays may be key to the future of the FBS, but it's a bane for Division III football
  5. Below is 247 Sports, Via Ducks Wire, projection for the bowls Pac-12 teams will play in at the close of the 2023 regular season. Again, it's much too early but it is a long off-season, right? The Ducks Wire bowl projections are also displayed below. Oregon Football: 247Sports picks PAC-12 bowl game matchups. DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Even though there are 4 months before the college football season, it’s never too early to look at what Pac-12 bowl game matchups could look like. 2 trips to Texas for Puddles? This would be disappointing IMO. The conference needs to send its second or third-best team to a better bowl game within the conference footprint. Alamo Bowl? What sense does it make to reward one of your best teams with a trip deep into the heart of B12 country? I think that the Las Vegas Bowl should be where the conference's number 2 or 3 team is sent. Of course, once the playoff expands in 2024 The B1G/Pac-12 relationship with the Rose Bowl is likely to come to a close. I believe that come 2024 the first two rounds of playoff games should be played on campus. I also believe that come 2026 the top four champions will not receive a first-round bye. Last season, Clemson was blown out by Tennessee in its bowl game, and Utah was not competitive against Penn State in the Rose Bowl. Neither team deserved a first-round bye. In my opinion, it's time for the College Football Playoff to stop trying to serve two masters. Run a playoff without regard to the bowls. Bowl games are a tradition and in no way are the bowls vital to the playoff. I'd like to see all games played on campus up to the championship game. Weather concerns could be dealt with by playing games, if necessary, in the dome closest to the higher seed's campus. 247 has the Pac-12 out of the playoff and thus out of the Rose Bowl. The Rose Bowl is a playoff semifinal site. Thus, 247 putative Pac-12 champ Washington (BOO!) is projected to go to the Fiesta Bowl with USC returning to the Cotton Bowl. I do think the 2023 Pac-12 title will come down to Oregon, USC, and Washington. USC has the advantage of playing both Utah and UW in LA while Oregon has to trip to Seattle and Salt Lake City. I also believe that with the depth of the conference 7 and not 8 teams will go bowling. In addition to home games against top conference opponents, the conference gave SC a second idle week the week before the championship game. You can't make this stuff up.
  6. Great to see you here and a great post. Unfortunately, I have to duck the great question. I have no idea what the answer is but many folks on this board are more steeped in Oregon lore than I.
  7. Some good takes here. This was authored by CFN's Pete Fiutak before the B1G hired its new commissioner. May you live in interesting times, right? https://collegefootballnews.com/news/college-football-expansion-predictions-conference-realignment-whats-new-in-2023
  8. I'd have to stop halfway for a hit of oxygen.
  9. Jon Gold authors Saturdays Out West. Here are his takes on the 2023 Pac-12 best over/under regular season win total bets. Gold: Best, worst bets on Pac-12’s over/under win totals SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM The DraftKings win totals release was none-too-pretty for the Pac-12, but that does present some opportunities for fans with fantasies of double-digit wins. Is USC getting too much love? CBS Sports today picked USC to play in the 2023 Football Playoff Championship Game. Without a major improvement on defense, I don't see it. Although missing Oregon State and getting Utah and UW at home helps the Trojans cause. CBS also opined that Oregon has a 1st 5 game cakewalk. Playing Texas Tech in Lubbock is far from a piece of cake. But I am not surprised that the national media is undervaluing a game that is a 'no-win' game for the Ducks. Win, well you were supposed to win. Take the L and it is a bad L. This, even though TT shows up in many preseason top-25s. Both UCLA and USC are getting going-away scheduling handshakes from Merton Hanks and the Pac-12. Why? Why shouldn't management dysfunction continue? UW for instance plays 3 games in a row at USC, Utah at home, and then at Oregon State. USC has no three-game in conference gauntlet close to this. And we are well aware that Oregon plays Utah and UW on the road; as noted above, these two play USC in LA. Rob Mullens had a say regarding conference scheduling. I'd love to know if he objected to the LA schools receiving a departing gift. And I'd like to know what close to a million-dollar man a season, Rob, and his huge supporting staff do all the live-long day. Merton Hanks and the overseer of Pac-12 officiating, Coleman, by now should have both been shown the door. The only thing our new commissioner has done since his arrival is to close down the San Francisco offices. Something a ten-year-old could have figured out. It is what it is so go out Ducks and win the games. But I still do not like THIS.
  10. Go Ducks! Fairways and greens. I love watching college golfers carrying their bags.
  11. Not yet official but Wyndham Clark has a 5-shot lead headed to the 18th tee. Clark shot 63 yesterday and made several clutch putts on the Back 9 today. Clark's caddy was an assistant coach for Casey Martin when Clark played at Oregon. Christian McCaffery was a classmate of Clark's at the Denver high school they attended. They remain good friends, today. Huge deal winning your first PGA tournament as Clark did at Quail Hollow course in Charlotte, NC. This course has hosted a PGA Championship and last year's President Cup. Not a piece of cake by any means. Hats off to Wyndham!
  12. I believe Bronny made a recruiting visit to Eugene.
  13. Broony lies next to the ocean Bronny lies next to the sea Fight On! is his devotion Don't bring back my Bronny to me!
  14. Based on often going thirsty in the desert I think this is a very good call. You know Dilly will be fired up.
  15. All Ducks have bills. Sad but true. For you not to profit off of this great site or at least try to break even would be Daffy. (Sorry!)
  16. No bets? Most Wise, I'm not surprised. The odds are inexorable and sooner or later the House wins and you take the L. Who knew about all of the places where you can wager on college football? We do live in a small world. 11-1 is a fantastic prediction for the Ducks. I certainly would not bet the Over. Go 11-1 and win the conference championship and it is likely the Ducks would be off to the Rose Bowl. A delicious thought.
  17. Fansided checks in. 1. Georgia 2. LSU 3. Michigan 4. Alabama - I do not see the SEC having 3 of the 4 playoff teams with one of Bama/LSU not winning its division. 5. Ohio State - IMO the Buckeyes have a better chance at the final not winning its division than does Bama or LSU. However, SOS will be interesting with Ohio State at Notre Dame, LSU playing FSU in Orlando, and Texas coming to Tuscaloosa. 6. USC - Will there be a D in USC? 7. Penn State - The B1G East will be salty. 8. Notre Dame - I think both QB Sam Hartman and his new school are overrated. Especially having to play Ohio State and USC and traveling to Clemson. 9. FSU - I like Clemson and not FSU to win the ACC. 10. Clemson 12. Oregon - Things break right and the Ducks will be a contender for the final, Final 4. 13. Washington 16 Utah 20 UCLA 25 Oregon State - In my opinion, UCLA, a team that plays in Corvallis, is too high and Oregon State is too low.
  18. Mr. FishDuck and his friends at Draft Kings have come up with the over/under win totals for the Pac-12 conference teams in 2023. Looking good for Oregon if this prediction holds true. Oregon Football: 2023 Pac-12 win totals paint pretty picture for Ducks DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Win totals are out for the Pac-12. Which team is projected to win the most, and how solid of a bet is it in the end?
  19. I think this is a pretty good in a nutshell analysis. https://collegefootballnews.com/schedules/oregon-football-schedule-2023-analysis-breakdown-3-things-to-know At least one duck is fired up!
  20. Addison? Dye? Singer? Bear Alexander? Of course, rosters are not being tampered with and these guys are not getting paid. Right? SC has a lot of experience calling kettles black.
  21. I do not disagree with your and Charles's thoughts on Nix but the majority of mock drafts I have seen predict that NIx will go in the middle of the first round or early in the 2nd round. I know he is getting paid to return to Oregon but it is a risk. He would have probably gone in the 2nd round or late first round in 2023.
  22. I loved JC's take but 'getting ugly?' We're well past that.
