Great post. Brown was never a great college QB. He was average at BC and average at Oregon. Mario went 4-3 in 2020. Blown out twice this season with an inexplicable loss at Stanford. As Miami is about to learn, Mario is a champ at recruiting and a chump as a head coach. Mario was never going to take Oregon to Final 4, never. After the last 2 hires I hope Mullens is not the only one involved with this hire?

Turned around Temple and did a good job with a sanctioned Baylor. Where did he coach before Temple? Does he have any ties at all to the west? Why could he and Brody who was a big time hire at the time, not fit? IMO, the perfect candidate is Lane Kiffin.

Venables, after years of being the DC at Clemson is returning to OK to coach a blue blood. That's 1 guy on a staff who has been with him for years. Dabo with his consistency with assistant coaches makes Saint Nick's run at Bama look even more remarkable. Turn over in staff year after year and I will not be surprised if new OC O'Brien leaves for an HC job after this season. Nick just keeps on trucking. Look at the dudes Bama lost to the NFL last season and yet, Bama is the 2021 #1 Playoff seed.

Love the thought but NO WAY! He is making over $9+M a year. Has a beautiful home in Clemson and a lake house of equal quality 40 minutes away. He is southern born and bred. And he is in rich recruiting ground recruiting to a brand he labored to build. Might as well aim for Nick Saban. Clemson will be back in 2022 with a more experienced OL, will win the ACC and advance to the playoff.

Brown should have been benched in the 2nd game vs Utah if not the first game vs Utah. He is a gritty, competitive journeyman QB who played at Oregon the same way he has played throughout his time in CFB. Only a 100% risk adverse coach would have started Brown in all 13 games. A coach who did nothing to have Oregon prepared to play ball in 2021.

Who did all of the above, knows and understands the Left Coast and the Pac-12 and can flat out recruit. LANE KIFFIN. I do not believe the Ducks has a realistic shot at landing Kiffin? But if Oregon can do so it must do so! How many Pac-12 programs have the sack to hire a winning NY6 bowl bound coach out of the SEC? TWO. And SC has already hired its guy. Why the concerns?
