  1. Fickell already passed on the MI ST job. Fickell will be coaching in the B12. If the PO field, as expected, expands to 12 teams per the Pac-12 format, Cincy will be in a very good position to win the B12 and advance or to advance as an AL team. Basically, he's already a P5 coach with a solid roster and foundation at Cincy. He has 6 kids and both him and his spouse are Midwest folks.
  2. If Cincy defeats SMU Saturday and Ducks lose at Utah, Cincy moves into the top 4. Cincy is getting all kinds of PO love from ESPN and many other talking heads. Watch Tuesday to see if SMU and/or Houston are ranked. This would give a bump to Cincy's SOS.
  3. I believe Del Rio recently noted that he has no interest coaching in college. Recruiting, CFB free agency, keeping track of the portal? Lots of stuff many guys in the pros want nothing to do with. I don't think today's recruits are that tuned in to Jack?
  4. I think 1-4 hold steady this week but if OH ST defeats MI ST and OR wins at Utah I think OH ST jumps OR in the CT week 4 rankings. Utah is -3.
  5. UGA is of course getting all the D love. But the Ducks? Great efforts. But it will be feathers to wall next week? Will this Ducks D be able to stop the Utes run game? By Mario standards, last week was a 'one more than a 1 score W is a lights out win. The good news! The Flaky Prediction Index gives Oregon a 37.7 percent chance to win in SLC. It will be 50K fantastically fired up fans versus about a 1,000 of 'US? ' I LIKE THE ODDS! GO DUCKS!
  6. Fickell, Franklin, Bill O'Brien, Matt Ruhle, Brian Kelly, Joe Moorhead (Just say NO, Joe) , Mike Leach, Lane Kiffen, Dave Aranda, Matt Campbell, Bob Stoops; Mark Stoops, Coach Pete, Mel Tucker; not Sark. For the good of the conference and the upcoming media deal a NAME is needed. So watch them elevate the OC, Graham Harrel? Should WSU keep its Pinch Hitter. Dikehert (sp?), Norvell, Chip Kelly, Rocky Long, SDS Brennan, Joe Moorhead?
  7. HE GONE! Bruce Feldman : Sitake, -BYU; Norvell - NV; DeBoer- Fresno; Wilcox - CAL; Moorhead -OC Ducks; Brennan - San Jose St; Kelly, - UCLA.
  8. 1? Try after 2:30 on the Right Coast. Thank goodness for No-Doz. That and sleep-preventing Pepper Vodka. Garnished with hot peppers. SKOL!
  9. THIS is a tough fire even for cause. The PC crowd will be piling on for not giving an African-American HC at least another season after 'winning' the North in 2020. Joe Moorhead?
  10. This was a look-ahead game for Utah. I think there may have been more stray dogs in the stands in Tucson than fans? Embarrassing but par for the Pac-12 course. Oregon gives an even split of $ to these CFB Arizona football losers? INSANE! Never, not once, have these Wildcats played in the Rose Bowl; except, vs UCLA in a regularly scheduled game. Why doesn't Zona just join the WACC? The AZ football coach is paid less than many the G5 football HC. No wonder Oregon is on CFB PO thin ice. Puddles Pac-12 friends suck.
  11. This happens when ESPN broadcasts on the cheap. And of course when Pac-12 refs are calling the game.
  12. Mom's home cooking may well trump more bread coming in from outside Eugene? So many HC dominoes to fall and after Florida's sorry effort yesterday UF could be one of the dominoes? ASU won at UW yesterday but is Herm's job safe?
  13. Good thoughts. Is Ashford still playing baseball and if so, will this help keep him in the fold? Ashford's dual threat ability could have him in the QB mix next year? Every time i look at Camden Lewis I think that you never know the player who will make a big leap from one year to the next?
  14. FWIW, The Athletic's Andy Staples thinks that this proposal will be approved. A sound compromise all the way around.
  15. Fortunately, the game is not buried on the Pac-12 Network and is a reasonable 7:30 KO time back east. Chris + Herbie will be in Columbus but the ABC back up crew is not that bad.
  16. Makes sense. Sets the stage for the Bucks to leap the Ducks. If we get Jos Tessitore expect a shoot out.
  17. And THIS is pre-portal possibilities. It will be interesting to see how many Ducks flock to the portal? I figure at least 1 QB and possibly a couple of WRs?
  18. The MI team like Mario usually didn't seal the deal until very late in the game? But Oregon did cover the 13.5.
  19. 7:30 KO on ABC. Herbie and Chris? Gameday in SLC? Hell of a lot better than a 10:30 eastern time KO.
  20. Great. I can stay up and watch the entire game. 10:30 KOs back east are brutal. ABC? Chris and Herbie. Gameday in SLC?
  21. That's a good start but many schools may be looking at Mario? Florida for one can throw a lot more than $4.5M Mario's way. Is the buy out the same?
  22. Utah plays at Florida next year on, I think, the same day the Ducks play UGA in Atlanta? 1st game for Utah in a H+H with Florida. Florida may have a new coach?
  23. Assuming OR beats Utah and OH ST beats MI ST next Saturday I think OR stays at 3 this week but probably drops to 4 the following week? Root hard for SMU to beat Cincy this week. It would also be nice to see SMU and Houston out of this week's top 25 but with Ls at the bottom of the rankings this week I think 1 or both will be ranked. Utah should move up a spot or 2. I will not be surprised if the Ducks are the underdog in SLC? FPI gives OR a 37.7% chance to win in SLC.
  24. THIS is something that I think the SEC and ND can live with? The G5, SEC + ND are not going to back an 8 team PO. 12 with all 5 P5 champs in and at least 1 G5 team in, seems to me to be a reasonable compromise? All P5 champs in should mean more impactful OOC games. And the P5 champs in means the Alliance OOC game and likely 2 P5 OOC teams for many teams will work out fine for all involved. The key to a PO with this format will be SOS for seeding purposes. A 1st round bye will be big. Not sure how the Rose Bowl traditional date and KO time factors into the Pac-12 proposal? If this proposal flies and ESPN is flexible with modifying the existing agreement which it has indicated it will be, we could see a 12 team PO as early as 2023? With the 12 team PO put out for bid in 2026. The Alliance cannot let principle trump the money that will flow from a bigger PO field. 3 to 4 SEC teams in? Big deal, that is what the SEC is doing today with the NY6 bowl structure. If CFB goes to 12, the Pac-12 has to dump divisions and the CA scheduling agreement . But a 9 game regular season could make sense under this format? With the extra Alliance OOC game that would mean at least 11 P5 games. But with schedules set so far out one wonders when there will be room to add the Alliance OOC game?
  25. This Saturday at Utah is a just win baby game. Ducks come through in SLC, hope that OR ST beats ASU, big comeback by the Herm's to win at UW, and smack a Beavs team that is not good on the road. ESPN's buddy Cincy lurks as does a 1L Domers team. Base on the W at Ohio State I think a 1L Oregon trumps a 1L OK ST/Baylor B12 champ?
