How to Get Under Charles’s Skin…
This so-called 'Settlement' was made by the learned conference presidents after consulting with ... Larry Scott? A/K/A a decision by the same FOOLS or their doppelgangers, who allowed the conference to crater. I'm with Charles, happy to be B1G but this was a giveaway when no exit fee was required by contract. Trying to make sense of THIS is like trying to solve the Riemann Hypothesis but you only get $1M for solving Riemann instead of the whole Pie, Man, when you 'negotiate' with the Pac-10 Simple Simons. 🤓😜🤑 Is there a lawyer in the Out House? 🦨💩 BTW - The negatory vote of the Pac-(1)2 is all that is necessary to keep the PO format 'as is' until 2026-27.

Making Sense of Oregon’s Shocking Rose Bowl Loss to Buckeyes
Thanks, Jordan. It's simple, with this format OBD should have lost to PSU in the champ game. Instead, OBD was handed the worst possible matchup. Hats off to Ohio State but OBD should not have seen tOSU before the semifinals. Had OBD played SMU at home and Boise in the Fiesta Bowl, Dan would be preparing the team for a game vs. Notre Dame in Miami. What sense does it make to be better off as a conference champ game loser than the champion? Wait Till Next Year! Or until 2026 when this absurd format goes away. If 2025 sees the same format and the preferred seeding for conference champs I'd wager today that the 3rd and 4th-seeded teams lose their opening game.

Can OBD Win IT All in 2026?
10-2 and the champ game may not be in the mix but with 10-2 the 2025-26 PO is a certainty. OBD is in the B1G leagues and will not be Pac-12 dissed. Any 2L B1G team is in the PO. At Penn State and Iowa will be tough outs but other than these two where do you see the Ls? Love the comment but I look at the schedule and find it difficult to come up with more than 2Ls.

Here's a Good Plan to Fix the CFP Format
There will be no change in the format before 2026. Why would the Mountain West and Pac-12 😧vote for change? Ditto the ACC and the B12 and the rest of the G5. Notre Dame may tacitly approve suggested changes. I'm certain the Domers do not want to tick off the Power 2. The Irish want to retain its Most Favored Nation status. ND had a Champ Game Bye week and watched OREGON (sigh) and Georgia get out of the way of the Irish. And what would be the response if the B1G and the SEC attempted to schedule four G5 games? Perhaps in 2025, OBD will have the good sense not to win the B1G champ game? Hell of a format. 🦨

Notre Dame Beats Georgia 23-10 in the Sugar Bowl
A not kind to Kirby review of the Sugar Bowl. IMO, trying to equate Kirby with Lincoln Riley is laughable. Kirby Smart isn’t as bad as Lincoln Riley, but he blew the Sugar Bowl TROJANSWIRE.USATODAY.COM In the 12-team playoff era, a number of coaches have gotten noticeably worse. It’s not just Lincoln Riley, though the USC coach has been horrible in recent years. I'm not ready to join in with the SEC is no longer in a league of its own crowd. I am ready to say this was an off-year, no doubt. Much of this is self-inflicted by the schedules handed to some of the conference's top teams: Georgia, Bama, Florida, and Oklahoma. Especially when compared to Texas, Tennessee, Mizzou, and Ole Miss. I am still puzzled over the SEC handing out the same schedule in 2025. How does it serve the conference to do this? How many teams in the nation could have played Georgia's schedule plus a rematch with Texas and not lost two games? How many teams would defeat this Notre Dame team with a backup QB? Texas could win it all. But if not, I don't see two years without a championship erasing the success in the BCS and 4-team playoff.

OBD Paths to the Future. Which Would You Choose?
I should have mentioned this above. 2024-25 will see a team with a Blue Chip Roster (BCR) win the initial 12-team Playoff. Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, and Texas all have BCRs. Every team that won a BCS and 4-team Playoff title had a BCR. In the B1G there are five programs, if SC stops hemorrhaging 4 and 5* recruits with a BCR. OBD, tOSU, Michigan, PSU, and USC. Oregon will have the roster advantage in the majority of its B1G games. Teams in the B1G are recruiting better from top to bottom but no other B1G team is on the verge of having a BCR. Oregon and Ohio State lead the B1G parade in portal success and have the finances to continue the success. Mega-conference schedules will vary in difficulty. 2027 is the only season from 2024 - 2028 that OBD will play three of the four usual BCR suspects. SC is not on the schedule in 2027. When considering the next season's results, in addition to a roster review as to the players coming back and those lost, recruiting, and portal results, I think it helps to know the quality of the opposition that OBD will face in the coming season. If Dan keeps it going, OBD should have a roster capable of winning the B1G and making the PO every year. Great comments above, I sure learned a lot about OBD's roster now, and where the team is headed roster-wise.
