Holy Crap, a New Set of Vultures Enters the NIL Zoo
Telling It Like It Is. With college sports at tipping point, one thing is clear: The SEC and Big Ten are in control of the change that awaits SPORTS.YAHOO.COM The SEC and Big Ten's brass held meetings Thursday to discuss the future format of the CFP, football and basketball scheduling arrangements and a post-House settlement way to govern...

Holy Crap, a New Set of Vultures Enters the NIL Zoo
Yesterday, The Alliance, er, the Power 2 Advisory Committee told all of these venture capitalists, and other shysters to take a hike. If a school needs 'THIS' it is not, despite what the B12 Commish has to say, a Super Conference candidate. If you can't ante up you will not get a seat at the B1G Boys table.

Is Oregon’s National Perception About to POP?
Give Me Some Of That Old-Time Tradition! Will Howard Win On The Road? OSU got Will Howard to win big games. They don’t get much bigger than at No. 3 Oregon SATURDAYTRADITION.COM Will Howard has a chance to make a statement at Oregon.

2024 Ducks - Buckeyes Pre-Game Reports, Analysis, Etc.
I'm Shocked! Michigan Blog Maize and Brew Likes the Ducks! Betting the Big Ten: Ohio State-Oregon is the headliner in the conference and the country WWW.MAIZENBREW.COM We’ve been scorching hot in our Betting the Big Ten segment. Here are the teams we like in Week 7, as Oregon’s showdown with Ohio State dominates the national landscape:

Is Oregon’s National Perception About to POP?
Great article, Charles. As for going further, please Pile On! Full of Klatt? 'Did you see what Jeanty did to the Oregon D?' Yes, Joel, I saw. I saw 3 long runs and a whole bunch of nothing while Oregon was getting IT sorted out on D without a full corps of healthy LBs. Joel, The Boise State University coming into Week 7 is AP Poll ranked No. 17. The Ohio State University's best win is versus Iowa, No. 33 in Others Receiving Votes. It's wonderful that Experts (?) like Joel take a deeper look into the stats before popping off, right? I believe many of these guys had Mizzou in the Top 10 before Week 6, right? Ohio State is not Mizzou. I am not attempting to imply such but the Buckeyes have yet to face a quality 'dual threat' opponent in the ZOO it will be playing in on Saturday. Spot ON, Charles. This is an all-time opportunity to convince the nation to shine its light on OBD. Michigan's loss at UW last week will be a party favor going off on the 4th of July compared to the cascade of noise an OBD win will bring to the Right Coast late Saturday evening or early Sunday morning. Danno, here is the opportunity to Show the World you have the coaching chops to win one of the B1Ggest Games. Oregon lost the LOS in the BCS champ game and in the first 4-team Playoff Champ Game vs. these Buckeyes. This is the chance to prove that Oregon is not just The Little Engine That Could but a Grown-Up Steam Roller on both sides of the ball. Win both LOS and as an Oregon coach once said, 'Win The Day! In this case, Over Day and said Coach. CRUSH THE NUTS! It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and It Never Rains in Autzen Stadium!

Time For the B1G Heavyweight Bout of the Year
Will travel tell on Ohio State and Penn State? Will Big Ten cross-country travel factor into Ohio State-Oregon, Penn State-USC and more in Week 7? WWW.SPORTINGNEWS.COM Big Ten teams traditionally struggled when visiting Pac-12 schools. Now, the stakes are higher as the contests become league games.

Herbstreit Says Oregon GameDay Experience Is His Favorite
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Autzen Stadium! I hope Corso can make the trip. 89 years of age makes quick coast-to-coast travel. Hard enough for 55-year-old Herbie who will do the show in Eugene before heading to Dallas for the Red River Rivalry game which kicks off at 2:30 Central and not what has become the standard 11 AM. Three and a half more hours for fans to imbibe while eating fried Oreos.

Terrance Ferguson: "It’s the Best Offense I've been a Part Of."
The Over/Under is 54 points. The folks in Vegas do not believe this will be a high-scoring game. Two good defenses and if 'the experts' are right, both teams will run the ball and take time off of the clock.

2024 Ducks - Buckeyes Pre-Game Reports, Analysis, Etc.
This was Klatt Day on BTN. He's on every Thursday. He does not hold out much hope for Oregon to win the game. But Klatt played QB at CU so his CTE levels may be off the charts. 😁 Based on the yards Jeanty put up, Klatt thinks the Buckeyes will run over the Ducks D. Oregon has a top 25 win, vs No. 17 Boise State. Ohio State? Iowa was by far the best team tOSU has played and Iowa shut down the Buckeyes O for a half in Columbus with no help from the Iowa O. How did NBC get this broadcast? I will not be a happy Ducks camper if the Notre Dame/Stanford game runs into Battle of the Os Broadcast.
-
Terrance Ferguson: "It’s the Best Offense I've been a Part Of."
Baby J, 125 yards? I hope it happens my friend but the tOSU D shut down Iowa's Kaleb Johnson, the No. 2 rusher in the B1G, until giving up a meaningless 4th Q TD. Johnson was held under 100 yards for the 1st time this season.

Time For the B1G Heavyweight Bout of the Year
A Few B1G Tidbits While Waiting For the B1GGEST Game in Autzen HIstory 😍 82% of tOSU's WR Jeremiah Smith's catches have been for a 1st down or a touchdown. Holy Hoosiers! Indiana is 6-0 and bowl-eligible for the 1st time since 1967. What would the preseason odds have been on Indiana and Nebraska being a combined 11-1 heading into Week No. 7? Indy has one win against an opponent with a winning record, 3-2 Maryland. Both Nebraska and No. 18 Indiana have Week 7 off before the Cornhuskers journey to Bloomington for a significant B1G game. Football College Gameday in Bloomington? In last Saturday's loss to Minnesota, the Gophers O-line was 42 pounds on average heavier than the Trojans D-line. The last time Oregon was a home UnderDuck was in 2018. Oregon won the game defeating U Who 30-27 in OT. Ohio State is traveling three time zones to play OBD. In 2024, nine B1G teams have traveled two time zones plus for conference games, Record 1-8 with conference 1st place team Indiana getting the win in Pasadena vs UCLA. The airport runway in University Park, PA. is too short to accommodate aircraft that can fly nonstop to LA. Today, the Nittany Lions will travel two hours by bus to Harrisburg to fly non-stop to LA. The LA Two-Step - Minnesota - Week 6 vs, USC. Week 7 at UCLA. Penn State - Week 6 vs UCLA. Week 7 at USC. Week 7 sees 7 B1G teams with one or fewer losses. No P4 Out-of-Conference Opponents for Ducks and Bucks. BEWARE OBD - After Wazzu blew out Texas Tech, canceling the game seemed like no big deal. The Red Raiders are 5-1 and in 1st place in the B12. GO DUCKS! CRUSH THE NUTS!

UNRESTRICTED TRANSFER PORTAL - Is There an Answer to the Issue?
Thanks for the timely post on a day when the Power 2 Poohbahs are meeting in Nashville to decide the future of the sport. I see a continuing movement toward consolidation and professionalism. Roster management will return to CFB once the players can collectively bargain with 'management.' Management will consist of the leaders of the Super Conference. The 34 Power 2 football-playing members are as likely to decrease in number as it is to increase to form the Super Conference. Congress will provide NFL-like relief from litigation once a contract between the players and 'management' is in place. This week, the NCAA cut the time allowed to enter the 'football portal.' I expect this cut to be litigated soon. The cost of ending 'amateurism' is the inevitable move toward professionalism. The NFL could not exist without restraints on transfers and salary cap limits. Super Conference antitrust issues will be 'controlled' in part by a House settlement-like 'salary cap' that I believe will end up closer to $50M a year than the House @$20M a year. Only the biggest boys on the block will be able to ante-in. Stay tuned to what comes out of today's Power 2 gathering in Nashville.

NCAA Approves Elimination of National Letter of Intent
The NCAA yet again is many days too late and millions of dollars short. High School draft? NFL Lite could have a draft with restrictions on 'rookie' pay, a salary cap as is the case if the House settlement is approved, with no limits on NIL as is the case in the NFL, restrictions on player transfers, and limited rosters. I'm not certain there will be any academic requirements, but if so, expect a 'Football Major.' All of the above will be negotiated between 'management' and a 'players union.' The top teams will join to collectively negotiate with the media including a super-conference network that will directly market game inventory as is the case with the NFL Network. Parity will provide the greatest money for all concerned as is the case with the NFL. The recruiting dollars and coaching salary escalation will be tampered down by recruiting budgets being replaced by scouting budgets. With an HS draft, coaches will not have to be salesmen except when players have the bargained-for ability to 'transfer' as free agents. When the NCAA's college football broadcast monopoly ended in the mid-1980s, the move away from academics, and student-athletes, and toward professionalism was inevitable. In the 1980s very few if any of us thought that gambling on college football would not only be allowed but encouraged. College sports gaming is just one more step toward college 'amateur' sports going pro. Pandora has left the box.

A Video Journey of My Hatred of Ohio State
'Flight attendant, can I have a pillow?' 3 time zones. No Rose Bowl week-long bruhaha with dinner at Lowry's. No victory close to a win over No. 17 Boise State. Same stats basically vs Sparty with 2 Red Zone Ints from Gabe and a TD drop from Fergie. No experience playing in a 'Laugh-it-off Brutus, It Is Not A Worthy Stadium!' The best D tOSU has faced is Iowa. A team without a complimentary O that shut Ohio State down in the 1st half. Not like OBD has been 'All That?' Our Tail Feathers Preseason Kissed Ducks were not ready from the get-go but the team that played Idaho and Boise State is not what we will see This Saturday Night Live. This is the Saturday, with an extra day of rest, we will see OBD advancing from preseason butt kissing, and ready to get off of the rope-a-dope; putting it all together to Walk Like A B1G Champion? 'Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.' Marcus Aurelius. What's that? Mike Tyson? Like tOSU players I couldn't find the library. These Bucks need to be schooled and the Chipper ruled!

Time For the B1G Heavyweight Bout of the Year
Thanks, Darren. The level of competition has not been all that; however, the Buckeyes D has surrendered 28 points in its last four games. (LOL. Paul Finebaum dumps on Ohio State's 2024 OOC schedule shortly before No. 1 Bama and No.4 Tennessee lose to unranked teams and Mizzou is undressed in College Station.) Paul, here are a few of the Ohio State University's future OOC games. Texas 2025/26. Alabama 2027/28, and Georgia 2029/30. With the Power 2 Poohbahs meeting in Nashville ((Nashville, Paul, Nashville, also known in Tuscaloosa as Mashville 😁)) tomorrow, I expect we will see more B1G/SEC regular season matchups down the road, in Autzen, and on the road.) In the 2nd half this season Ohio State has outscored its opponents 119-10. In its last three games, OBD has outscored the opposition 114-37. OBD has a Top 25 win vs No. 17 Boise State. This will be the Buckeyes 1st game vs a Top 25-ranked team. Will a Three Time Zone trip, trip the Bucks up? Go Ducks! Crush the Nuts!

Oregon Offense: Will Stein Backs Up His Vow
Great Article, Mr. FD. Here's a Look at Will's QB, Gabe, From ESPN. Will Oregon's offense tailor-made for Dillon Gabriel pay off? - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM Though Dillon Gabriel is well on his way to another prolific season, Oregon isn't quite operating the way it was last season.

New CFB Playoff REMOVES the Pressure Off This Game?
Oregon is a rare home UnderDuck at +3.5. Ohio State could be the only Top 25 opponent left on Oregon's schedule when the Committee releases its final 2024 ranking on 12/8/24. Michigan is totering. Wink Martindale's pass D is worse than DC Don Brown's, a DC canned by Harbaugh. The offense? Bo (not Nix) would love this O. Illinois has little room for error. 24 Michigan plays at 23 Illinois on the 19th in The Red Grange Game. The next Saturday the Illini visit Eugene. Illinois finishes the regular season at 4-1 Rutgers. Fisch and company have done a terrific job building a team from scratch. 2 UW WRs are in the top 5 most receptions in the B1G. UW wins at Iowa this Saturday and a 4-2 UW might be closing in on being ranked. I still believe a 10-2 Oregon without a bad loss is in the PO field. Thank you, 17. Boise State. Oregon's SOS for seeding purposes, without a P4 opponent OOC, may not be all that. Week 7; at the halfway point of this 14-week regular season, this could be the OBD's only chance to capture a Signature P4 Win. Playing in the Big House is a B1G deal but on the same Saturday, Ohio State plays at Penn State. Go Ducks! Crack the Nuts!
