Great post, Charles. The Illini DL has smaller DTs but they are active and play godd complimentary football with the LBs. And it's not like OBD's OL played well vs. Purdue. It didn't. Purdue had the better run game. This is Super Bowl time for the illini. Illinois has the easiest remainging sterngth of schedule among teams still in contention for the B1G title. I expect Illinois, like it did at Penn State, will do everything it can to shorten the game. Illinois's No. 1 RB missed the Michigan game but is back this week. On the road at Penn State, Illinois briefly held a 7-point lead after scoring on its 1st drive but was shut out for the rest of the game by a stout PSU D. PSU is averaging 34.2 points a game, 28th in the nation, Illinois lost at PSU 21-7. Oregon pitched a shutout last week but the tackling was terrible. It was Purdue on a short week and a long flight so I get it. But Oregon better come with a far better attitude this Saturday. This is OBD's toughest remaining home game in 2024. GO DUCKS! The only team on the schedule certain to be Blue Chip is Penn State. (How many 4*stars will bail out of South Central?) The Ducks play at PSU next season. This could be a loss, no doubt. USC 😁, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and what could be a tough Indiana team visit Autzen. I'm calling 4-0 in home territory. Based on market share, the prime statistic in 2010 when the Pac-10 went to the Pac-12, SC was certainly entitled to a bigger slice of the Pac pie. USC never got over this 'slight.' I find it interesting that SC 'joined' the B1G approximately two years before the Pac-12 media deal expired and like Oregon 😒 the Trojans paid a 'B1G Exit Fee' to the Pac-12 (2) when no exit fee was payable. There are suckers and schmucks but Larry and the enabling Leaders of the Pac were first in line. Then, 10 bozos paid millions in getaway fees they were not contractually obligated to pay. Indiana backup QB, Tayven Jackson is a "Pretty Good Athlete." After starting QB Kurtis Rourke left the Nebraska game with an injury Jackson went 7 for 8 passing for 91 yards with 2 TDs. Jackson transferred to Indiana from Tennessee in 2023 BC, Before Cignetti. In 2021, Jackson led his football team, 4A (the top tier in Indiana High School sports) Cedar Creek High School, Greenwood, Indiana, (a suburb 15 miles south of Indianapolis) to back-to-back state championships. He was named to the Indiana All-State 1st team. In 2021, the 6'4" 212 lbs. Jackson helped his Cedar Creek basketball team win the Indiana 4A basketball state championship. Holy Hoosiers, this is a Huge Deal in Indiana. Jackson's Brother, Trace Jackson-Davis, is a forward on the Hoosiers basketball team and was All-Big Ten in 2023/24. Closer to Puddles Nest, the brothers' Dad, Ray Jackson, played cornerback for Wazzu. Indiana and Army are the only two playoff-contending teams not to trail in a game all season. Like Cal this season, Indiana football and Bloomington will host College GameDay on Saturday for the first time.
