Hoosiers Shuck Nebraska but Their QB is Out Indefinitely
Like Kirby, Cig is a branch of the Saint Nick coaching tree. He was Saban's recruiting coordinator and took a 60% pay cut when he became the head coach at NAIA Indiana University—Purdue, IUP. The man has never had a losing season. Twice when picked to finish next to last in a conference, as was the case this season, his team won the conference title.

Oregon Ducks Football: No.1 Slot DESERVED?
OBD is also No. 1 in ESPN's Strength of Record Rankings. The Committee should pay attention to this ranking. Another Top-25 win on Saturday (Knock Wood!) will help the cause. Puddles, Make the Illini Ill!

Oregon Ducks Take Over Top Spot in US LBM Coaches Poll in Week 9
Too High? Too Low? On 11/5 We'll Know. 😁 Spot on. Miami too high. Indiana too low. Indiana and Army are the two playoff-eligible teams that have not been behind the entire season. AP Top 25: 3 teams ranked way too high, 3 teams ranked way too low entering Week 9 FANSIDED.COM The Associated Press has spoken! As expected, we did see some changes to the AP Top 25 Poll after the Week 8 slate of games. With previous No. 1 Texas going dow

KUSC - Here in South Central The HIts Just Keep On Comin.' USC football collapses while Oregon is tops in US LBM Coaches Poll TROJANSWIRE.USATODAY.COM This is what football misery looks like at USC: Not only are the Trojans 3-4 and in bad shape, but Dan Lanning and Oregon are No. 1. It’s a worst-case scenario. Doctor! We're suffering from Puddles Paranoia. HELP! I wonder what the Grinch Who Stole Defense thinks about the SC stink?

Oregon Primed for the Big Time After 35-0 Rout of Purdue
A very good win but bad tackling led to the Boilers running for over 200 yards. Bret Bielma is well aware of this but so is Danno.

Official Oregon Media Press Release: Ducks Ascend to No. 1 in National Rankings

Oregon Ducks Take Over Top Spot in US LBM Coaches Poll in Week 9
Ditto - OBD No. 1 in the AP Poll. 😍 Texas, blown out at home and drops 4 spots. Boise State DNP and drops 2 spots. Indiana blew up a 1-loss team and moves up 3 spots. SIGH. SEC - One half of the conference is ranked with 0 undefeated teams. UGA 2nd is righteous. B1G - Five ranked. 3 teams are undefeated, 1. OREGON, 3. Penn State, 4 Ohio State, 13 (😒) Indiana, and 20 Illinois, a one-loss team that defeated a ranked Michigan team on Saturday. Wins Just Mean More and Losses Just Mean Less in the SEC.

Down Goes USuCk Again!
More 'Home Town' Love For Stinkin' Lincoln. 😁 Lincoln Riley’s math on 4th down was right, but his heart was wrong TROJANSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Lincoln Riley’s decision to kick a field goal on 4th and 1 was not his worst decision ever, but it was still bad for reasons which do need to be explained.

Austin Mock's Playoff Mock Loves Puddles
What might the ratings be for a Ducks vs Domers PO? Boise at Ohio State. Which team would have more rushing yards?

Down Goes USuCk Again!
Nuck! Nuck! Nuck! 🤣 'You call THIS a Report Card!' USC football report card for Maryland shows too much average play TROJANSWIRE.USATODAY.COM If you have been reading our USC football report card after every game this season, the Maryland report card is going to be very familiar. This is depressing.

Austin Mock's Playoff Mock Loves Puddles
Two of the ESPN AL's (algorithms) SP+ and FPI, show little respect for OBD. But Austin Mock's Playoff Mock AL, updated on 10/20/24, has Puddles flying sky-high. Some AL's are smarter than others. 😁👍👌 Here is Austin's (lots of football fans in Austin, TX are not happy today😒) Week 9 (Week 9 already!) Playoff field. Rose Bowl - No. 1 OREGON vs. 9 Clemson at 8 Notre Dame Fiesta Bowl - No. 4 Iowa State vs. 12 Boise State at 5 Ohio State Peach Bowl - No. 2 Miami vs. 10 Indiana at 7 Texas Sugar Bowl - No. 3 Georgia vs. 11 Tennessee at 6 Penn State Four B1G - No. 1 OREGON, No. 4 Ohio State, No. 6 Penn State, and 10 Indiana. Show Puddles The $$$! Impliedly - Ohio State defeats Penn State and Indiana. Oregon rematches with the Buckeyes in the B1G champ game and wins again. 😍 Three SEC - No. 3 Georgia, No. 7 Texas, and No. 11 Tennessee. Impliedly - Georgia rematches with Texas in the SEC champ game and wins again. And with three teams in the mix, Greg Sankey is not a happy PO camper. Two ACC - No. 2 Miami and No. 9 Clemson. Impliedly - Miami and Clemson play in the ACC champ game. Miami wins which would be the Canes only Top 25 win of the season. 😒 Greg Sankey doubles down as an unhappy camper with two ACC teams with weak conference schedules in the field. One B12 Iowa State. One Independent Notre Dame. One Group of 5. Impliedley - Iowa State (now 7-0 for the first time ever!) wins the B12 champ game. Notre Dame defeats both ranked Army and Navy after defeating a Georgia Tech team without its starting QB and takes a nap on Conference Champ Game weekend. Mountain West champ Boise State finishes 12-1 and plays the Buckeyes in Columbus. Still a long way to go. Here's to Wishing ILL on the Illini.

Oregon Will be the New No.1
How B1G of a deal was the Horns win in Ann Arbor? South Carolina embarrassed Oklahoma in Norman. However, Hats Off to You Hairy Dawgs! Michigan played offense like it was 1924. Fielding Yost would have been proud. A geeked group of Illini are coming to Autzen. Who needs the Beach? The Bruins visited a Superfund site and found a win. "I'm going to visit China, India, and Baltimore." SC visited Baltimore and caught crabs. 😁 Not a Mary trip. Hawkeye was off-target in Spartyville. So much for that easy schedule. Holy 1967! "I win, Google me.' Is that a puckering sound coming from Columbus? Who knew, besides Cig and John Pont, that the Hooisers would be conference and playoff contenders? Nebraska was shucked. Next up, at 😁hio State. Denied permission to land in Lincoln, the Huskers are practicing this week in Hell, Michigan. A real town. Google it. The Badgers said, 'No Western'" The jury is still out regarding the Wisky O. Prove It Saturday when Penn State comes to Mad City. Coming from Tuscaloosa. 'DeBoer, HUH! What is he good for? Absolutely nothin!' One thing the Playoff folks get right. No rankings are released before November. Sending Jabba the Hut, er, Bret Bielema ILL tidings. We're Number One. WOW!

Let's Discuss! CFB College Football GameDay (All Other Games on 10-19)
It Just Means More to give your head coach an extension after losing your bowl game to Arizona, running off the All-B12 QB Gabe in favor of a youngster who threw 3 INTS in said bowl game, and without a returner on the O line going into the B1G Boy SEC. What are these ADs smoking? What is wrong with paying someone a hefty salary and worrying about the guy getting poached when the contract should give the AD a 'Right of 1st Refusal'; an opportunity to counter a 3rd party offer? It's PRIME TIME. It took Neon 2 years to kind of do what C1G has done in one year. DeBoer, What Is He Good For? Not every 1 score game in Dixie will fill your cup.

Let's Discuss! CFB College Football GameDay (All Other Games on 10-19)
Holy Hoosiers! 349 1st half yards against a statistically sound pregame D. Now, 49-7. 11/23 in Columbus could be very interesting. Indiana will be favored in every game on the rest of the schedule with the exception, perhaps, of the game in Columbus. Cignetti is doing this like Prime in 2023 but with far, far better results. I love Danno but Cig is the COY, to date.

GameDay Thread versus Purdue: Join Us!
Probably. But Moore can participate in four games and still redshirt. Novo was a 4* recruit purloined from Baylor. He came to Oregon with talent and has an extra year of experience playing for Coach Stein compared to Moore. Hard to evaluate QB talent on every level of football. In today's CFB, Oregon's 2025 QB could be playing for another team.

It's Gabriel or Jeanty for the Heisman
A Heisman for a player coached by Dan will not hurt recruiting. And it also won't hurt Dan's chances of bringing in a stud QB from the portal in 2025. Jeanty is draft-eligible in 2025 and is projected to be a 1st round pick. How many carries do Jeanty and his agent want against inferior competition? The young man after the 2025 draft will be a multi-millionaire. Risk this to injury? No matter what the young man does he will not attract enough votes outside of the West to win the Heisman. From a financial POV, he should shut it down now but thankfully, he's too good of a person and a teammate to do so. But if Boise does not make the PO, he should pass on a wholly meaningless bowl game.

No T-Ferg or Burch Tonight Vs. Purdue
The week off and an extra week to heal before a currently ranked Illinois visits Autzen and 11/2 at Michigan. I hope both Burch and Fergie will be good to go in Ann Arbor.
-
It's Gabriel or Jeanty for the Heisman
Hunter is expected to be full-go tomorrow in Tucson vs. Arizona. Jeanty has no Network games left. The Boise games are on CW. Boise's game at UNLV, the likely MW game of the regular season, will be shown on CBS Sports Network. If he doesn't beat Barry Sanders's rushing record, he may be invited to NYC but will not win. I think Jeanty could do OK in the Western region but not in the Midwest, East, and especially, in the Southeast.

OBD Prediction Contest vs. Purdue: Join Us!
Purdue - 17 wins over Top 5 teams when Purdue was not ranked leads CFB by a lot. Both SP+ and FPI predict a Ducks victory by 25+ points which would not = a cover. YIKES! DUCKS 42-21 2 2 360 Smear the Spoilermakers!
