  1. Loved the way both Florence and Manning played last night. Both the "being too handsy" and the targeting call were just crappy Pac12 refs BS. Those don't get called in the SEC, and shouldn't here. They constantly are "searching" for these and others while missing obvious ones like D offsides and what the down actually is. It is what it is, but the Pac reffing is soft and crap. I like both Florence and Manning to keep up the aggressiveness. It makes us and them better.
  2. This topic has been mentioned, alluded to, and beaten around the bush a little bit here, and by me specifically in the past. I feel the Ducks won't be GREAT until they are able to exorcise their "demons." Mainly the hang-over from the previous administration(s). The stupid show-boating, bad penalties, not showing up for games, disappearing in games, maybe a lack of confidence? Little by little, DL helps them turn the page.
  3. Please please please Never play Ty Thompson again Horrible
  4. UA has score most of the points on drives extended by penalties
  5. Stanford isn't slow. If you heard the broadcast, they talked ad nauseum about how their DB is the best in the galaxy (I don't agree) They got caught out of position, out of breath, and clock watching. Exactly the point of the play. Plus, it seems that the counter run/counter screen may be an RPO? If Nix reads it right (he did)... TD
  6. I was thinking this EXACT thing. With most of the same players, would they even show up? Would they be interested? Would they get a lead and pack it in? I think the Defense is closest to leaving the demons in the past (skill is another thing) And the offense has made strides and is improving (TT aside)
  7. I'm going with UCLA in this one. Ducks have to win out for playoff, and likely only drop won to get to the Conference Championship Huck the Fuskies always
  8. Nope Hated playing them He left his starters in and we were ahead by 20+ points? I thought geez, the backups practiced too. Couldn't give them some garbage time? Plus his tired Pirate shtick never overcame what for me showed he was a mean-spirited bully. Glad he's gone
  9. He'll play the "just wait until I have my guys" thing Then... Making adjustments, brought in a new O coordinator to open things up... Then... We just have to get tougher! Then... He'll see how far that goes. 3 years?
  10. 1) I would have ranked BYE ahead of Colorado - they are truly awful 2) Stanford is also right there. The team is about ready to pack it in 3) The Beavers are suffering from horrible QB play, they could go up or down depending 4) Oregon and Utah are the best or top two 5) #s 3 through 10 are pretty interchangeable and could all beat each other depending on match ups, location, and injuries Nice job
  11. Coach Belotti was continually changing and updating when things stopped working. Remember Rich Stubler? Gone after less than one miserable 1996 season. Grew the stasche and smashed stuff at halftime in 2005 to the tune of double digit wins. Pro-style wasn't working so he ushered in the Spread and brought Chip in. Always evaluating always changing. Not Helfrich. Came in in 2010 and never changed anything except for graduate transfer QBs. Wouldn't recruit, wouldn't discipline. Players stopped listening and performing. Geez he was there from 2010 through 2016. That's plenty of time in my book. Some things are just clear cut and are instant no-go's. Like driving the Ferrari into a brick wall.
  12. Might even have the secondary affect of lighting a fire under TT as well
  13. Heck for that $$$, Not only can they tell me to go, but they can say where! I might even listen
  14. Yeah, I disagree somewhat. He did have those pass plays called for him. The last series had exactly that and he struggled through his progressions and airmailed his passes. Plus he looked disinterested doing. Unfortunately, the whole team seems to tank when he comes in and their play reflects that. Gotta produce. If he completed ONE play and had any glimmer of a spark.... I'd move to Butters at this point. If it's garbage time, who cares?
  15. Many of us were surprised Ty Thompson didn't really play last season. This season we have seen him get multiple opportunities including the Spring Game. Last night he seemed disinterested, inaccurate, and late on his throws. I'm past the "bad luck" point for Thompson. It might be time to accept that he isn't very good.
  16. Kind of like the fiction that ASU is "a sleeping giant" The landscape of college football has changed and the Pac is on the outside Colorado will forever be at the bottom
  17. I absolutely love an undefeated Kansas sneaking in there. The ultimate outsider (for football)
  18. I actually didn't notice it that much this game. It certainly is less this year compared to the past. Work in progress??
  19. Hey, at least they didn't catch any TD passes out of bounds... Again
  20. Same same every year we play those clowns. Not mention the mountain of holding calls that are ignored on the Stanfurd Oline. Combined with the mystery ones called on us.
