  1. Indeed. The "QB Coach" thing is smoke and mirrors and a bit of wishfull thinking. Kelley as a good OC was the best "QB Coach" Oregon has had. He designed a system for the player, but was also revolutionary enough to keep Defenses off-balance. There just isn't enough evidence to show anything Helf did wasn't really just Kelley and he was riding along. When Helf was alone, it fell apart. Nice guy, lots of jargon, not much for results.
  2. Not sure I agree. Marcus was amazing the first time we saw him at his first spring game. Honestly, the only improvement I saw during his career was in leadership. He was already great. Helf benefitted more from Kelley than Oregon ever did from him. He's held no jobs since. Nice guy, that's about it.
  3. Sweet After years of enduring late night starts where no one is watching, they might move the games to a streaming service? You couldn't wreck it better if you were trying
  4. Man I loved those old school posters. I had one of "Hit Man" Ronnie Lott on my wall. They need to make a comeback
  5. My gripe over the last few years is you have no idea if the guys on the bench are even any good. Mari wouldn't play them, and his prevent O kept scores close so there was no garbage time. Plus with closed practices... The rest is all speculation and smoke and mirrors. We'll see what we really have this year, and going forward
  6. I'm excited if Flowe and Sewell can play together all year. DBs still scare me with their inexperience and ability? 20% improvent on D 20% improvement in scoring = conference Champs
  7. Yes It's a totally different world now. The $$$ amounts are so insane that it will (or is) become an all or nothing game. Schools will start dropping out. Sadly schools like OSU (ours) and WSU will be in danger
  8. Sweet! ESPN! Every game will have a 1930 or later start time. "Pac12 After-Saturday-Is-Over" Or something like that
  9. Cal? Last time I was down for a Duck game (in my jersey) they asked me why I was there and who was playing. Sheesh
  10. Really good article Yes, the LA teams + the Fuskies think (know really) that they're better than us. They all look down their nose at you. But they'll actually do worse out there. Because the sad truth is the rest of the US looks at them, like they do us. Probably just a little more politely. It's like when I pull a huge smallmouth bass out of the bowels of the Umpqua River, and as I'm reaching for his lip, my knot (which stinks) gives out and away he goes. I know what we've lost, and they will too in time. The PacThen Pure disappointment
  11. Hurrayyyyy!!!! Day is made Off to the coast
  12. I'm ready for whatever... just not the status quo I just wish they'd get on with it. Coaching search in 2021, now this. Uncertainty only favors the Alabamas and OSUs of the world. Of which we are not.
  13. Yes, football is all that matters. Football makes millions$$$ Mens basketball makes thousands $$ Everything else is a loss No football no water polo
  14. Not in government jobs they haven't It's sad, but the Pac12 and the entire west has an over-inflated sense of self worth and self importance. At all levels $$$ and perceived value drives this whole debacle. The SEC and Bigwhatever have it. The west doesn't. When all the best west coast players go to the SEC and BIGwhatever, you have a problem. LA schools provide the LA TV market and recruits, that's it. The schools are irrelevant. Hope everyone enjoyed their water polo and women's tumbling championships. The ride is over
  15. This is truth The only exception was in 2010 with Darron Thomas. He was very good, not Heisman. However, the TEAM was great across the board, played as a team, and the spread fast paced O took the world by storm. Lighting in a bottle if you will
  16. Love the D!!! Gotta move Jeffrey Bassa way up He STARTED as a true freshman due to injury and excelled I'd move Hill to Saftey or CB in a zone scheme. He's terrible in the slot
  17. For whatever reason, I truly feel for this year, every win and every loss will be "Team" Good or bad
  18. Same old items: 1) TOs 2) crappy officiating 3) stupid penalties (see above) Of course with a young team and new staff, it's likely there's a game where they just don't show up. WSU is a good pick every year Maybe Stanford after an emotional win against WSU UCLA near the end in a Chip Kelly surprise with some bad officiating and rain
  19. For me it's all or nothing. You're either contending and winning the Pac, or you're the one loss on our record where we continually wonder "what happened" I'm going with the latter Huck the Fuskies
  20. A leopard doesn't change his spots Heck he almost killed Joe Moorhead
