It would be better spent on buying Saban, or maybe hiring a young prodigy.
Interesting thought--could Saban be bought, er, hired away?

Wow, indeed!

Wowsa! Thanks for letting us know, but it is a required subscription for that article, and we only post what is free.
If you could tell us more… And thanks for trying to help!
I don't have a subscription, but could read it by allowing ads to be unblocked.

My impression is they hope fans will attend more than one of the events in person that day. I know DL has said he'd like to to see Autzen packed for the spring game.

The fun thing about basketball is that only 5-7 very good players are needed to make a good team, so the odds of a smaller school finding success is greater than in, say, football.

Clay was such a smart player, not a surprise he is a coach!

All this makes my thoughts turn to baseball and the minor leagues. I think the average minor-league players gets about $15,000 in salary. Compare that to getting paid tuition, room & board, books, etc. for college football players (and all college players on full scholarship). That probably adds up to around $100,000 a year, at least for out-of-state student athletes. Now add in the potential earnings with NIL. The sky seems to be the limit there. Of course, in the minor leagues, players don't have to attend class or worry about NCAA regulations (whatever rules are left).

Well, a coach I know wrote about it on another site, so…?
Maybe that coach can see into the future???

It has already passed, and the report on another site was blah-blah, but apparently it got the high school coaches fired up.
I used to be invited, but was dis-invited when Chip/Helfrich left. Perhaps my videos of the Oregon Spread Offense (viewed two million times) frightened new coaches concerning what I would write or create? I thought I was being a pretty good ambassador of Oregon football, but beginning with Taggart...they apparently disagreed.
The coaches clinic is in April, as it turns out.

Oh, something about it popped up on my FB timeline--I should have read more closely. Long ago, in another life time, I attended a coaches clinic as someone's guest. Whether people had to be invited then, I don't know.

Just wondering--is anyone going to the coaches clinic? It would be fun to get a report.

You mean I was breaking the law when I won a whole $20 in the 1999 men's basketball bracket?

I remember one year that due to injuries Oregon went through 5 or 6 QBs by the end of the season.

Is a player who gets $5 million before he even sets foot on a field going to give his all when it comes to playing football?

I guess I'm on a different page. I'll continue to wear my mask for a while longer in certain circumstances (going to Fred Meyer, for example).

Friends, help me please.
Why is this weekend a particularly good weekend to host this kind of talent? I think this Conerly's 2nd visit? Don't know about the other guys. Isn't this a 'dead' sports weekend on campus?
Make no mistake, I'm happy all these guys are tripping to Eugene but I'm confused as to why so many guys are coming this weekend when they cannot experience a football weekend.
Thanks.
Maybe it's because the recruits will be able to spend more time talking to the coaches (and the coaches to them)? They can take a little more time to show them the facilities, etc.

Well, you still have to provide an email address to read it, and I really don't want to be on their list. If you can provide a summary--that would be great. Thanks!
That's odd. I didn't have to provide an email address to read it.

For some reason today I thought about Mark Schmidt and googled him. What comes up but an article about him on FishDuck from 2013?
It's a very interesting, in-depth article, and the part about what Mark treasures most about his day with Gang Green makes me wonder if players feel the same in this age of NIL.

I like the old uniforms, but I like the apple green uniforms and highlighter yellow also.
