  1. On Tuesday when the first rankings come out, Oregon should be ahead of OSU based upon a tougher schedule so far and a H2H win. We'll see if the committee holds true to their past saying H2H matters. I think another OSU loss helps us tremendously as long as the Big10 champ is undefeated.
  2. I meant #2, Williams. Agree, JJIII looks lost in the crowd, and why the crowd?
  3. Charles, in your last screen shot, it looks as if JJIII is running past the defender and a perfect pass will be a TD. Only problem, that throw is usually not in AB repertoire. High risk, looooow reward.
  4. Hoping Mario is here for the long run, 10+ years. If so, when he is gone, we have learned that recruiting ability should be #1 on the new coaches resume. And hopefully, as in the past, there is someone within to promote.
  5. 42-7, Ducks (do you have to ask on this one?) 4, 6, 295
  6. I'm going with AB all day on this one. Of course, he has more to use and this is a better D than Prukop had.
  7. That's sooooooooooooo true, but it can be the Pit with lipstick when it is rocking. I remember being at the Pit when Cal came in a ranked team in 1969 and lost. That was the first time the scoreboard shook and the next day they brought in earthquake inspectors to check the place out.
  8. I am going to disagree with the analogy. Oregon shares the Pac 12 revenue, however it has it's side job with its own brand that does not share that revenue; jersey sales, ticket sales, donations, etc. Plus, those "others" with their lagging production allows Oregon to pad their record and remain on top. P.S. I survived a law firm where they had a Big 12 type partnership = unequal partners (talking Texas here), I got out 1 year prior to being offered one of those "prestigious labels"/partner. I knew I made the right decision when years later I represented the top partner in his bankruptcy!
  9. I didn't realize the players had that many relatives.
  10. Personally, I don't want a playoff wherein any team has a bye. Therefore, either 8 or 16 teams. I prefer 8, otherwise I think they will have to shorten the season to accommodate the extra round. In regard to all sites at bowl games, if it is an 8 team playoff, fine. 12 or 16 teams, I think you are asking too much travel for fans. Non participant team stadiums/bowl sites will be only partially filled for the first round of the playoff, just like the lower tiered bowls are now. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/bowl-organization-wants-all-games-in-expanded-college-football-playoff-played-at-bowl-sites/
  11. 24/7 review. Ducks prospects a few paragraphs down. Weekend Recruiting Preview: Buckeyes, Spartans and Baylor with big opportunities, Clemson hosts Arch and more (247sports.com)
  12. Geez, if they don't have higher ceilings, clear the QB room and start over!
  13. Here is Cristobal in Duck Territory discussing, or not, Suamataias' decision https://247sports.com/college/oregon/Article/Mario-Cristobal-discusses-Kingsley-Suamataias-decision-to-enter-transfer-portal-173982507/
  14. Well, I guess the Pac 12 refs have something in common with the Big 12 refs.
  15. I heard about this and then saw it on some highlights. What great instincts. It was very close to the RB having his forward progress stopped. And, it was 4th down. Other than Caleb stealing the ball, this looks a lot like some 4th down plays we run. Plus, check out when this occurred. If the play doesn't work, Kansas gets the ball, good field position and a chance to Stanfordize OU.
  16. This shows a couple of things: 1) It is based upon stats; 2) surveys show 83% of all stats are meaningless.
  17. I bet you never saw this coming.... Post on Facebook by #GoDucks Anthony Brown has been selected to the Davey O’Brien QB Class of 2021, making him eligible to be voted as a semifinalist.
  18. I'm not saying which games are more important, I am saying we need consistency against weaker teams and we have that opportunity the next tow games.
  19. "BTW - YTD 1L and #7 Oregon's SOS and SOR are both far better than #5 1L Ohio State. But every game counts, right?" I think Oregon comes out better in the Head to Head category also.
  20. Well, according to USA today, they sit at #80 now !!! Looking forward to triple digits in two weeks. Texas drops again in USA TODAY Sports college football re-rank (yahoo.com)
  21. The next two weeks will tell us more about this team than the last 7 games ... home vs very weak team; on the road vs rival who can make their season with an upset.
  22. "We need him to manage the game, hand the ball off, make the passes he is good at, and limit his mistakes, opportunities to make mistakes." Amen
  23. According to his Oregonian article, he is a very solid pledge. Hopefully, the product on the field will keep him in the flock and help add others. Of the main suitors, Texas, A&M & LSU, LSU is a dumpster fire without a head coach, Texas seems to be stuck in the mud with only A&M looking like a team on the rise. Except they have the 2 Ls, more to come and barely beat at putrid Colorado team. https://www.oregonlive.com/recruiting/2021/10/rivals-calls-5-star-ol-kelvin-banks-to-oregon-ducks-one-of-nations-biggest-recruiting-surprises.html
  24. The coaches need to game plan the opposition, both offense and defense, based upon game film, not go in with a mind set for percentages. I think we all agree, AB isn't a deep threat. But what if he starts throwing 50/50 balls to our taller receivers and they deliver. Do we keep that in the games? Might as well since you do want the appearance that you will/can go deep. Unfortunately, the coming game against Colorado could be a pyrite game. With a 4 score spread, this needs to be accomplished midway through the 3rd quarter. However, that could cause an interesting situation, Ty Thompson in the game and looking like a 5* QB. Then, if AB struggles in the future, the chants may return. The Ducks need to make sure they play Ohio St each week and not the competition.
