Did Colorado Follow the USC and UCLA Playbook, ESPN Reports . . .
Why Colorado moved to Big 12 and how shift affects Pac-12 - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM The Big 12 learned lessons two years ago after getting burned by Texas and Oklahoma. It resulted in a more aggressive strategy that could dramatically change the sport.

Canzano: Conference Demise Hinges on Oregon
I somewhat agree. IF the Ducks decide to flee, and I think/hope that is a big if, then I think the demise will be swift. However, I am still hopeful the Ducks stay in the Pac with a much easier path to the playoffs. We don't need the media money to stay competitive. Other schools, not so lucky.

3rd Degree Burn: Dan Lanning's Thoughts on Colorado Leaving the Pac-12
Hey , CU, your new slogan should be Remember the Alamo . . . As those are probably the only bowl games you will sniff for the next few years, '16 & '20 (covid), and faired the same as the Texans at the original. I for one will miss our 88.8 winning percentage and average score of 49 - 16.5.

The Death of the Pac-12?
That's fine. However, I have nothing but distain for LS. He left GK a mess, hopefully he'll make lemonade from the lemons left behind.

The Strength of the Future Pac-12?
I remember the last time sc was irrelevant (2009 until last year's hiccup) and we did just fine. Looking for more of the same. Almost every team QB loaded year, and next year, almost every team unproven.

NCAA Taking Michigan Out to the Woodshed...
Wow, can you image how upset Vegas must be having to COMPLETELY change the lines on these games?

Calling it the PASS Act. MSN WWW.MSN.COM Let's hope Woody Hayes axiom isn't true that two out of three things involved in a pass are bad.

Oregon Against Conference Expansion?
I agree, but I think the landscape will drastically change again around 2030 when it seems a lot of conferences are ending their media delas around the same time.

Some New Husky Comments for Upcoming Season and Beyond
Hopefully PK outlives that dud(e). Plus, I imagine that when it eventually happens, PK will be the gift that keeps on giving.

Some New Husky Comments for Upcoming Season and Beyond
The following comments were posted after a re-published 24/7 article post spring game "candid comments" on the Ducks. A couple of snippets from the article . . . "What I am most interested in seeing is how Dan Lanning has grown as a head coach. He was in over his head in the Washington and Oregon State games last year toward the end of those games. "As Bo Nix goes, so goes the Oregon offense. If he's healthy, they'll win pretty much every game they play, but the thing is, can he stay healthy? "As far as their overall season, I think they'll be a double-digit win team, but they've got some tough games. Give this team to a staff like Kyle Whittingham and they probably go undefeated, but he's at Utah, so we'll see. I like Lanning and think he's a guy who can be successful, but I think he needs a better staff. He's got some good coaches, but there are some important spots on the staff he needs to upgrade. I think he knows that and we'll see what happens after the season." On to the comments (not as delusional as in the past): 1) Going to be a fascinating year, watching how it all plays out. They figure to be undefeated when they come to Montlake in October - both of us in the top 10, maybe. But I wonder what happens with the program if they lose 3 or even 4 games this year. On the flip side, it's not a huge stretch to imagine them winning 11 games. 2) If Oregon loses 3-4 games before the December early signing period, one has to wonder how many recruits will leave and go elsewhere, especially if USC and Washington play in the conference championship game as predicted. 3) This seems like a tipping point year in the UW - UO rivalry. If we win strong this year, as we should have a good chance to do, our recruiting should continue to pick up alongside continued excellent coaching (hopefully). This may be our time to get the upper hand in the rivalry! We have great coaching, a great city, strong NIL, and an excellent team. I wouldn't be surprised in ten years for us to jump ahead of UO, or at least achieve parity starting last year. Kind of finishing the work that coach Pete started. 4) It sure could be a tipping point. Here's what I think we need to really tip the scales: a solid win, a significant uptick in Blue Chip recruiting, a continuing trend of recruits transferring out of Oregon, and maybe more chaos down there (loss of position coaches and even PK finally passing on). They have a recruiting steam engine, but it is not built on the same solid foundation as what the Huskies are building and I think sooner or later the Dawgs will overtake them.

Pac-12 Preseason Media Poll
Ironic, if Riley left OK to avoid the SEC (which I think went into his thinking) this is his last chance at a conference CShip for quite a while. Good riddance a year early.

20 Ducks Named to East West Shrine Game Top 1000 for 2024
Twenty Ducks named to East West Shrine Bowl 1000 247SPORTS.COM The East-West Shrine Bowl released its top 1,000 names to watch for the 2024 NFL Draft on Monday, with 20 Ducks making the list. Not so sure being in the top 2% is a big deal when not that many are drafted, but it is a nice list to look at the names.

Blah, Blah Blah, Pac 12 Media Deal to be Announced "In the Near Future", But Not Friday/Media Day
Source - Pac-12 media rights deal expected in 'near future' - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM The Pac-12 will not announce a new media rights deal Friday, a source told ESPN, but the conference's patience "is about to pay off" in the "near future."

What’s Become of McArthur Court?
I'm torn between "letting it go" to holding one of the exhibition games there each year. Although I do like the idea of viewing parties there.

11 Ducks on PFF all Pac 12 Preseason Team
I agree, as long as these are West Coast voters as opposed to Sleepy, Dopey and East Coast media.
