  1. I agree, this team is like a box of chocolates.

The letdown against FSU I'll chalk up to a tremendous start (getting in the mindset that they can do anything at anytime to the Bulldogs ((by the way, didn't the Bulldogs show us something by beating a decent UCLA team?  Well, until they took a Hawaiian vacation)) and then the Kayvon injury deflated the sails.

    tOSU, WOW.

    Since then wow.

What's to come hopefully more WOW than wow.

I'm ok with AB until injured or one of the Others steps up in practice to show the coaches that they are the future now.

  2. To answer your question, yes, as long as they run the table and other favorable things happen.

"Bama's loss is a blessing and a curse.  If they run the table and win the Conference, they're in.  If they run the table and beat an undefeated Georgia, they are both in.  If they run the conference table and and lose the conference CShip, they are probably out depending upon the rest of the conferences and Cinncy.

  3. When asked about AB’s play and QBing in general, paraphrasing what Cristobal said is ......it starts and ends with how you run the offense. Making sure everyone knows what the play is.  On passes, the protection that goes with that play, and the route structure that goes with it.  In comparing AB with “The Others”, they have done well in practice, it's just not near the level of AB.

With AB leading the offense, the Ducks are second in the country in turnovers committed, 2; and scores points 91% percent of the time they the red zone (TDs at 74%) 18th nationally.

So, are we better off with the better QB now and let The Others battle it out in practice; or, battle test the others at the sacrifice of this season?

It's hard on us fans as we see somewhat sub-par QB play, but at the present, we evidently don't have anything better to throw out there.

Honestly I don't think anyone is looking at the big picture. The Ducks are getting killed in the trenches on both side of the ball. Take a look at the offensive and defensive line play. They are simply being outmuscled and pushed around. This is where the game is won and lost. Stony Brook killed them in the trenches, Stanford killed them in the trenches, Fresno State dominated them in the trenches. I totally don't understand how they held their own against Ohio State in the trenches. Let's face it perhaps Ohio state is really not that good. Wake up Duck fans we are getting killed in the trenches by smaller less talented teams, or perhaps we really just not that good in the trenches? Football is not about one guy it's about a team effort. And right now let's face it the team is playing like garbage.I'm frustrated as well just looking at the big picture.Lets go Ducks !!!! Figure it out I'm not turning my back on you that easy !!!

I think the line play has to do with youth.  I think there was only 1 start amongst the O-line last year and last year really did not exist in regard to playing games with the Pac pathetic late start and shortened season.  The D-line has more experience, but again these guys are really just in their 4th game as a unit.

Granted, they have seemed to have played down in 3 of 4 games, but maybe they are who they are in those 3 games and played up in 1.

  5. Although the press/outsiders are not allowed to view practices, if the QB competition is close, then I am hoping Cristobal and Moorehead have seen enough of average at best QB play and give Ty the start and the first half vs Cal. If he fails, then give AB or Butterfield the second half.

This is the perfect opportunity to show head coach leadership. Plus AB admitted how bad he played, so a change shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to him.

  6. Once again, the perfect storm on a cloudless day down on the farm.

I agree, time for new blood at QB. a sixth year QB:

    1) shouldn't be missing also most every long ball and where are the vertical calls?

    2) mis-reading the D and getting stuffed at the goal line when Verdell would have walked in.

    3) consistently throwing behind receivers over the middle.

With Moorehead, I think we win, but I still want to see more of a vertical game. Big time WR recruits must be re thinking their decisions.

But, we did have our Defensive coordinator, at least I think we did or was he on chicken soup duty for Moorehead?

The silver lining, uw can't pin the first L on us!
