I have to say I have been going to the ATL for two decades several times a year for work. I am always in my Duck gear, and have no bad things to say about the people, the food is dangerously good, specially Spondivits, for you ducks going for the game put that place on your list of must go eat at. One of the best in the area. I will be out that way this coming Monday in full duck gear as always. Take time to see the College football hall of fame, and the PTC is on my short list of retirement locations, something about driving golf carts around the city is appealing. Go Ducks!

I think that was due to the scheme that Cristobol employed, run tough through the tackles, Dye was fast, and shifty when he did hit space, but he was bouncing off tacklers at the line, and was hard to get his feet under him to then make that cut, we saw him do it when he went untouched, 30 to 40 yard gains.

Pay for play for players. I think they should then pull scholarships, they can pay their own way like every other student. I am not a fan of the NIL. I think this is a disaster, that will only get worse as time goes on.

I think we will see a more honest competition at quarterback than the previous coaching staff.

Could he not beat him out, or was it Cristobol and what he wanted, no one knows, but I think transferring is a telling story of what went on in the QB room, and frustrations of the receivers towards the end of the season was very telling.

We laughed, then started plotting to go see the Stanford game. Win, lose or draw, I want to se UO show up, I want to see AB play like he can hit 70% passes and them over 3 yards. I want to see Dye and Cardwell pop off 100 yards minimum each, and Sewell and Dorlus sack sack sack

I don't think we will know how good a recruiter Lanning is until next recruiting cycle at the earliest. I think a year in the position to see how the system works, and where pieces fit, then he goes after what is needed to elevate it. In my opinion next recruiting cycle will be telling.

I think in some cases development of a player based on the staff is the issue. I also think CFB and NFL is the new drugs, almost a get rich quick scheme. the hype around 5* playing and in high school they were the best around, then that gets whittled down in College where you have better players, then again int he NFL when it is the best of the best. Some end up addicted to their own hype, and don't think they need to put in the effort. In other cases, coaches just don't develop, which is something I believe Oregon had an issue with regarding Cristobol. Some of the big names did not develop and some of the blue collar kids did not as well. Is that coaching or lack of skill. Oregon has had coaches that coached up their teams, I don't think with all the talent Oregon has they were really coached up. They won being more talented, not better coached or tougher.

I think what bothers me is the opt outs. it is kind of more like an exhibition game for the next years team. With so many players opting out for possible NFL run, it becomes anticlimactic to even watch them. I can say, I have watched zero bowl games this year, which is not typical for me. I generally watch as many as I can, and stream them while at work if I can.

In my humble but non fact checked opinion was I don't think the former staff was developing the talent and using them correctly. I think the new staff, with a different outlook, won't just take a transfer player and anoint them as starter. I hope they look at the talent, build game plans and plays around that talent and utilize it and then coach, really coach them and develop that talent. The reality is, no opponent feared the Oregon offense. After Stonybrook hanging around, it really showed Oregon was not to be feared on offense, and if you just modified defense just a bit, they could not beat you over the top, or mid routes. Yeah one or two would get through but by then the defense was tired and the opposing teams could march up and down without a problem. We will see what happens in the future. I don't think Nix wins the job, I am not sure the type of offense of Dillingham runs, but I would not mind seeing Ashford or Thompson win that job. I would not be surprised if we don't see Butterfield transfer after the Spring game. I could also see Thompson transferring if he does not get the job and if Nix does win it, I think there will be a lot of grumbling by fans and players. Oregon has talent, it needs to be developed. I hope Lanning and his staff focuses on developing the young players, not just hand over keys to transfers.

I believe if I remember correctly Oregon has an entire group for the NIL and to help players navigate it. Headed up by former players and others.

Are they even relevant and do they even deserve any of our time? They should be relegated to little sister status, hand them a conciliatory lollipop and pat on the head the head and say good little girl now go sit on the bench so big brother can get things done for the Pac.

My thought on Hiring Wilcox or Kelley was a move to go backwards over time. With the transfer portal, I think we would have seen even more transfers if either one was hired. I think it has already been shown that Lanning is good, he convinced 7 to stay, which was huge. I do not think Kelly or Wilcox would have, nor do I think they would have recruited well this year or next year and with the transfer portal, I don't think the fall of Oregon would have been several years, we would have fallen from 10-3 to 8-5 maybe in the first year. Not knocking either, but they would have been a step back. I personally am stoked over the hire, much more so than a Wilcox or Kelley or even a Kiffin, was not a big fan of him.

After listening to former players, and current players and parents, and hearing what Joey had to say, Conzano is a dumb dumb, in y opinion he is a walking talking reason why coaches don't stay for what he did, and what he tried to infer with his article on the letter. I completely get what the former players were saying, but Oregon was. built on innovation, taking risks. Even the coaches of old took risks with their hires, and play, the one thing they did well was coach up the players. I think Cristobol had an issue with coaching up players, he expected 5 stars to play like it right out the gate, and one or two will, but ones that needed coaching, he either did not play, or said they were not ready and let em sit.

I am definitely not in on Kiffin or Wilcox, and I would be even more disappointed if Chip was hired than the other two.

It wasn't just Mycah, it was Williams, then Hutson, they all took shots about the passing game and the bad throws, the frustration was starting to boil over between QB and Receivers. Even when they let AB throw, he was not consistent game to game, he played well at OSU, then Horrible in game 2 with Utah. I don't think it had anything to do with coaches leaving, I think it was more focused on some of the stubbornness of coaches with the QB situation.

the question is, if Tedford could be the head ball coach and get a Brady for the offense and head coach in training since Tedford is well 60, remember, Oregon needs an OC and Head Coach it might be very attractive overall for both, he could learn from Tedford, while building his offense, then when Tedford retires in a few years, he has his people in place, learned everything, and can take the reigns.

I think the problem is, when you have a coach, talk about loyalty, how much they want to be there, they are all Go Ducks, we are all in, then jump ship that is the meaning behind the loyalty. It is about the face of it not being truthful. If Cristobol came out and said yes Oregon is working on things, and yes Miami came calling and I am considering both, it is more honest than what we continue to get at Oregon and the coaches.

They need consistency. We have had rotating OC, and DC for the last 4 years, new systems in, all because of the success at Oregon. You don't hear about that happening elsewhere as much as it does at Oregon it seems. We are getting a lot of one or two and done coordinators. Makes it hard to get consistent, and give the offense and defense time to really learn the system and get good. I think the mistake this year was playing AB. He is a good runner, gives them a shot to win, but his inconsistencies have shown in the losses and the close games with inferior opponents . I think starting one of the newer QBs would have paid dividends in the future. What worries me, is Cristobol will go after a transfer portal QB, make them the starter again, say his young players are not ready, then we have more players leaving the team. QB development is an issue, I also think he needs to allow his OC to do their thing, and the DC to do theirs. I love the toughness, the line play, but he needs to let go a bit, let his team develop. I get injuries this year, but that is why they recruited at a high level.

I was just reading that Oregon is once again, not favored to win. ranked 3 in the country and not favored to win, seems to be their lot this year, and yet, they continue to win. Always makes me chuckle when just about every sports reporter that covers college football all root for Oregon to lose.

I think that is kind of it right. For the CFP, and for Oregon fans and all of College Football, by 5 games in Oregon should be moving forward. Even after the loss and two weeks to prepare they should have made giant leaps forward and they did not. It isn't the issue of being 5-1, we lost to a team that we should not have and at that time in the season Oregon should have been moving the ball at will. This is about progress, and after 6 games, the same problems keep occurring, the same mistakes, the same issues. It is more about the progress, and it is why Oregon keeps falling in the polls. Not because they are not a good team, they beat Cal but fell because they are not making progress. Meanwhile Ohio State which Oregon beat, has fixed their problems and become better. Oregon has not.

I am not sure how you mean our young QBs are a major disappointment. I saw TT do extremely well in the Stony Brook game, when he came in at half and blew them out. I did not see AB doing that in the first half, without the turn overs in the fourth quarter, Arizona was matching Oregon. I think this is who he wants Oregon to be. Win games but not by a large margin, and get lucky in the fourth quarter. I have also seen the defense not take the ball away, and watched AB turn it over. Teams have figured out Oregon's offense. It is not the fast paced team as before, it is not shifty, it is a straight up offense, so defenses can now key in on things, they don't have to worry about AB he lacks the skill to throw effectively, Oregon wins because of talent.

I think the booing stems more from the lack of offensive identity, not just directed towards players. The reality is, AB is a decent QB who can dink and dunk 4 yard plays and the playmakers aka Dye make people miss. When it comes to pushing the ball downfield 20 and 30 yard throw and catches, the explosive running plays utilizing the speed of the players. The Duck Offense used to put pressure on other teams to make mistakes on their offense, and alleviate our defense. We are now reliant on a bend don't break defense to keep it close against inferior teams to have a last minute heroic and win. This works against lower tier teams, not upper echelon teams. In Stony Brook, Oregon was barely ahead going into second half, and TT came in and sparked that team for a good offensive output. Arizona, it was just a really bad Arizona team and many turn overs. The last two, Stanford and Cal, the turn overs have been our offense not the other teams. With Ohio State, AB played a great game but Ohio State played a poor game, the difference is, Ohio State has gotten better since then, Oregon has gotten worse. People say oh why did Oregon fall in the polls, well since Ohio State, Oregon has barely scrapped past Stony Brook and Cal, lost to Stanford, and beat Arizon in the last quarter mainly due to great defensive playing. If oregon had crushed the lower tier teams then they would not have fallen, but when you need last second heorics to win against unranked opponents, Oregon will continue to drop in the polls, which is fitting.
